Please take the time to read this as I desire to prevent others from making the same mistake that I did in going to this shop and attempting to give it a chance. If you value your mental health, being treated with respect and seeing others treated with respect, trustworthiness, your car's health, and your money, look elsewhere. Consider my experience and decide for yourself. If you value good customer service, do NOT go here. The shop owner (Howard) has made me feel completely disrespected and unvalued as a customer on numerous occasions, is abrasive and impatient over the phone and in-person, does not attempt to engage in and grow a customer-centered relationship, and ridcules my questions often, making me feel guilty for asking them in the first place. See for yourself. If you value a company/an owner that demonstrates respect towards their staff, do NOT go here. Howard has demonstrated shocklingly mean behavior towards his staff, especially the gentleman that works the front desk (who is very kind and tries his best). He has made degrading remarks to his staff in front of myself and other customers. I can't imagine what it's like working there and I feel sorry for his employees whom seem very nice and helpful. See for yourself. If you value quality parts being put into your car, do NOT go here. The parts they've installed into my car are questionable and have failed on numerous occasions, dissolving my trust and making me question Howard's integrity. If you find yourself in the situation of a part failing after getting your car serviced here, you'll likely find out quickly that you are not prioritized and are put on the backburner and made to feel guilty. See for yourself. Howard's aggregious behavior has finally made me decide to end this overall negative experience and look elsewhere. I live close to this auto shop and it is my go to shop. I drive a 2016 Jeep Wrangler that has needed some work this year and they have always been able to work me in quickly and do amazing work. Being a female and going to get work done on your car is daunting, often times we are ripped off or scammed. Minnetonka Auto Service doesn't not do that and gives very fair prices. Great team there, fast work, and very convenient! I highly recommend this place. read more

Why does it seem that finding a good mechanic is hard to do? It was almost the most painful thing about moving here... I lost my guy that I trust. Minnetonka Auto Service is hard to find, so be sure to google it first, but it is worth the work. Howard is smart and trustworthy. Here's is what I loved. -Free loaner car for the day. -Estimate was best I found. -Car was done early. -Actual costs were less than the estimate. -Honest feedback about what work I should do now and what can wait. Called to see if they could fix an issue with a sensor I had driving from Chicago to Minneapolis. I knew what services needed to be done after consulting with 2 other mechanics prior to. I called and the guy in the phone was rude and didn't want to hear what I had to say and ended up saying I'm not his guy to fix my car. Assumed I had a check engine light on. There wasnt. Unreal. I just moved to the area and needed someone to take a look at my Jeep, so I did a little research on Angie's list to find a mechanic. This literally happened 5 minutes ago. I called and the owner, Howard, answered the phone. I asked him how he was doing, you know, because I have manners, and he responded by saying, "Not that great considering I have to deal with a**holes all day, and you're just another one of 'em". Their estimates are accurate and I know I can rely on them to do the right thing for my car. I bring my car to them for routine maintenance and I don't have any issues between visits. I've been a customer of Minnetonka Auto Service for years and I'm very happy with Howard and his team. To paint a picture of their character, I'll share my most recent experience. My windshield wiper fluid mechanism was clogged, so I brought my car in. Not only did Howard unclog it, he also put more fluid in the reservoir, so I'll be set for a while! It was just a nice little surprise to see that he had done that. He also recommended new wiper blades, which I purchased from him and he installed for me. Once less trip for me to take! Overall, I appreciate Howard and his team's honesty. They'll check on whatever you ask them to, and they'll be straight forward if it's something that needs attention ASAP, or if I can wait, or if it's nothing. A few years ago I took my 1992 Lexus ES300 into Minnetonka Auto service, subsequently had the radiator flushed, transmission flushed, tune up with new plugs four new tires all of which was carried out and cost approximately the same as any other place, then I decided because I needed a new exhaust system I would have them do it, had to work done of course which was not cheap nor would it be cheap anywhere however it would have been done much better anywhere and there. they proceeded to order aftermarket poor quality parts on that unit as anyone who knows cars will tell you the system goes down and below the gas tank to prevent any fire possibility it is always low on those vehicles safe since fix that that includes cameras of that same year the system that they put on hung down several inches below the standard, which puts it about 3 to 4 inches above the road with no one in it putting people in it it hits every hi spot in the road, every speed bump, Even with only one person in the car you have to drive at an angle in order to make it work it is so low they knew it when they performed in charge forward and told me nothing they are the worst at fixing your car, they are dishonest or at the very least not honest I would not recommend them to anyone please factor this review in if you're considering using them for anything. read more
