While my past experiences have been good, I was sorely disappointed with my most recent meal. I ordered a chicken sandwich with avocado added - so the total was around $18. The chicken was SO tough I could not bite through it. I tried removing it, so as to cut with a knife, and could not cut it either. Since nobody came to check on us until it was time to deliver our check, I could not easily point it out - even though there was only one other table occupied. I let the waitress know, and she assured me she would relay the message. I also privately let the owners know via FB messenger, but....... zero response. I wasn't looking for a handout, just an acknowledgement! (I still left over 20% tip). Owners need to respond to their customers, it is only professional. This is a destination stop for me. When trying to decide where to go for a breakfast or lunch motorcycle run, this is always part of the discussion. The food has always been fantastic and portions are very large. On this occasion I had the meatloaf sandwich special. The meat was nearly 3" thick , fully covered the bread, and was super tasty. Service has always been spot on with drinks being taken care of regularly. They are also just friendly folks that make you feel like you're being welcomed into their home. When finished with your regular meal, I'd advise keeping some room left for dessert. They always have a nice assortment of pies available. read more

We showed up at the end of the lunch crowd. However it was extra busy due to all of us from MTTS ... Everyone that was working was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. My food was amazing and they serve breakfast all day. Food portions can definitely be split. I'd recommend for a great stop of lunch if you're in the area. read more

We were enjoying a fall drive, enjoying the beautiful colors! Stopped off at this little gem and enjoyed some really good food! The fish sandwich fillet was HUGE and cook perfectly! The chicken sandwich was delicious and the onion rings were perfect. It has a small town, old town, home town feel to its atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. Prices were appropriate! I came here on a Friday morning for breakfast and we got seated right away for a party of two. This is a super homey and old school diner with some counter top seats and a lot of tables. I ordered the Spanish omelette ($12.95) with home fries. I was told that the home fries are house-made whereas the hash browns are the frozen ones that are cooked, so I opted for the former. The portions are huge here! It is definitely filling and I barely finished the omelette and didn't eat all the toast. No matter what you get here you will not walk out hungry. I was also told that their pies are delicious, although their huckleberry and other ones are not made in-house because they are so popular. They have someone who works two days a week to make other desserts like their banana pudding. The workers, especially Sue, was very hospitable and super friendly. Okay I see a bunch of good reviews so I wondered was the slow service an outlier or what? Last 3 visits took over an hour for breakfast and no it was not busy. The orders had issues and food was brought out at different times so half of us were done by the time the remaining food was brought out. Hard to find good help and the staff was friendly but either lacked training or wasn't very concerned. Went years without a gripe and was always satisfied, but something has changed. Hope they find their way back soon, until then going to the other option in town. read more

first the good news, the food is actually quite good. And the portions are large. So if you're looking for a good meal and nothing else this is the place. now the bad news: service is absolutely positively horrible!! we needed the Wi-Fi password because cell service in this town had horrible Internet, she gave it to us but it didn't work. Took us a while to get her attention again asked to verify it, she looked at me like I was an idiot and verified it. Still did not work. After the third try of getting her attention, she finally said let me ask somebody else. Took her a long time to get back And she still had not asked anybody. Finally another server walking by told her the correct password and she was like oh my bad I thought it was something else . (btw the password is June2004, she kept telling me Summer2004) if that were my only complaint you might think I'm being too harsh, however it got worse from there. Took forever to get our food. No follow up service such as would you like anything else or refills on your drinks. After finishing our food, 30 minutes of waiting for the check that never came we finally got up and stood at the cash register. Nobody was there either. So I estimated the amount and went back to the table to leave $40 on the table. figured that was more than Enough and the rest could be a tip that she definitely did not deserve! They had already seated other people at our table!! lol. So back to the register I go and I grab some waitress that happened to be nearby and said I'm just gonna leave this by the cash register. She said who is your server? How the hell should I know her name? I'm just leaving this here -Set the money by the cash register and walked out the door. Popped in while traveling through for lunch. They were a bit busy and struggling with network issues. We had the patty melt and the Ruben. The patty melt, chowder and fries were fantastic. On vacation in this small town, I decided to go to breakfast. As soon as I walked in I noticed that the dining area was pretty full. I ordered the big breakfast which came with three eggs, country potatoes, four sausage links and a full order of toast. I ordered the eggs over medium and they were cooked perfectly. The whole meal came out hot and ready to eat. The staff were busy because of the full restaurant but the wait staff were able to answer all the questions my family asked. They were very nice and cordial. They joked with the locals and knew most of the regulars names. We come to Thompson Falls at least 2-3 times a year and this was actually the first time we ate here. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, staff and food. We will definitely return the next time we come. read more

Little hole in the wall place so I was skeptical when I walked in. It's got a rustic but charming interior. The menu was fairly large, which tends to worry me since it usually means frozen food heated up. The staff was friendly and attentive. When the food came out I was presently surprised as it was all really good and plentiful. I was even more surprised when the check came out and it didn't break the bank. I'll certainly return. So, here's the thing... I had the pleasure of being introduced to the Boomtown Cafe(which is now The Daily City Cafe) by my father on a road trip. He had lived in Thompson Falls MT for nearly two years while working in the town. He became a regular at the restaurant, and I'm more than delighted that he shared this gem with me. Yes, Thompson Falls MT is in the middle of nowhere, but if you happen to find yourself in that neck of the woods(literally) to check the Cafe out. The place is rustic, I'm talking hand carved grizzlies and old diner style bar. Next to the booths are pictures on miners and loggers that are turning grey and yellow with age. The coffee is fan-fucking-tastic, the food, portions that will make your eyes water, the service, stunning, the owner works along side the waitstaff and is humble and genteel. I had a bacon and cheese omelet, and I'll be damned if when the thing arrived there hand to of been half a lb of bacon in it. I couldn't even eat half of it. Living in Thompson Falls, I look for excuses to go eat at Minnie's. My 86 year old dad eats fairly slow and the girls know this so they bring his hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy as soon as it's ready! Really appreciate it. You can't go wrong eating at Minnie's! read more
