First, it's just so cute! As you approach, you can't help but notice the beautiful mural on the windows. Then you step inside of the most charming little bakery. There are tables for in-store dining and tasty treats everywhere. Cookies, pies, croissants, refrigerated salads and sweets, candied nuts and even Rice Krispie treats. These are just some of the items available. I've never been to a bakery with that many different offerings. Everything looked amazing and everyone in line lets us know that everything is delicious!!! Honestly I wanted a bit of everything, but I had to have some self control. In the end I walked away with muffins, bars, a Bundt cake, a cake pop and tiramisu (this was all shared with another person). Just like the other patrons said, I quickly learned that everything was in fact delicious! It was fresh and so, so good!!! She had the idea to do cookies in the shape of keys, and also a front door with a wreath on it!! Since I'm not very creative, she was able to just put it ALL together (even the colors!) for me just right off the bat!! They couldn't have been more adorable, and everyone loved their sugar cookies; I felt like the hero all night, and I didn't even do anything but buy them, haha! We'd also gotten a simple cake from Emily a couple years ago for my friend's first birthday party. It was only about 10 people, so my friend didn't want anything over-the-top; she just wanted a really small cake that would be cute for pics. My friend's dad had passed away right before this, and he was a fireman, so Emily created the perfect little cake, designed perfectly for her little guy. On top of that, it was chocolate and delicious!! We've also gotten her holiday cookies-- she sells out SUPER quickly, so make sure you place an order in time! We missed out one year because we waited until the last minute. They're the cutest things I've ever seen!! We will ALWAYS be patronizing Emily, and we feel lucky to have our "own dessert chef" from now on! We kept in touch throughout my planning process and she easily made adjustments, and worked with our budget! My sweet table consisted of customized sugar cookies, cake pops, and lemon bars, as well as other assorted candies to tie in with my pastel color theme (light blue, pale pink, and peach). So, they may not have the rum cake I ordered, and they may be having some issues with their technology... but it seems like they have really delicious baked goods (according to other reviews), and they are working to solve the other problem. So, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.** I wish I had pictures to prove this..... but here is my experience. I placed an order for their rum cake ($45 for a Bundt cake). I did this through their website and it said it would be available to pick up at 11:50 a.m. I paid using their Squarespace website. I got a confirmation email, and was so excited because this is what my hubby wanted for his bday. I was just about to leave to pick it up at 1:15pm, when I got a call from the bakery saying "we don't know what your ordered, but you need to cancel the payment because we don't use our website. We only take orders over the phone or in person." What???? If you don't use it, why is it active? Turn it the eff off. It's very simple to do- I know bc I have used several Squarespace websites. This should be the end of my rant- but wait! It gets so much better! I proceeded to give them my order over the phone.... They told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I should have asked myself how they would bake a cake in 30 minutes- but, I'm a glutton for punishment.... And instead drove 30 minutes from my house to go get the desired rum cake. When I got there to pick it up- it was a 9" two layer cake with frosting. That is not a rum cake, nor is it what is pictured on their website! When I said, that isn't what I ordered- the response was "well, this is our rum cake". I left without the cake. And, now I have to contact my credit card company to dispute a charge that they claim they won't receive. Also- in case you're looking for quality, freshly made cakes..... they have 5 gallon buckets in their cooler at the front with long stem roses in them..... the buckets have labels on them that say "Sam's vanilla whipped icing". What a joke!
