The interior is decorated incredibly, showcasing their cakes and cupcakes which I am assuming they are more known for though I will have to come back for them another time. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. Ended up getting a few cookies and a couple non-cupcake items form the cake and while they were good, they were nothing that really stood out in my mind. The cupcakes looked beautiful and I will have to return for them. The cakes they had displayed also looked to be incredibly well, good to keep in mind in case I need one in the future. Birthday cake, chocolate, carrot cake, key lime pie cupcake , chocolate peanut butter cup cake , and a traditional yellow cake cupcake with chocolate frosting . I didn't have time to go to the bakery itself so I ordered on door dash and had them delivered . I've never had them before but I'll have them again. We recently had our dream wedding on 05/16/2026. We had commissioned a cake from Caramanda's Bake Shop. They had delivered the cake an hour late, bottom tier was burned, middle tier was the wrong flavor, and the coloring and design were all wrong. We reached out Monday and got the run around until I could finally get a manager. After talking to her, she became hostile and defensive when we had made the complaint. We wanted a percentage back on the cake because it was more than 75% wrong/messed up. I have a recording of the lady screaming on the phone offering $115 refund and called it fair. It's not a fair amount. It's not something that can just be fixed especially you only get one wedding. are trying to give me a run around to their supervisor because they don't want them to know how much they messed up. This location is next to a chase bank and UPS store. Wedding cupcake: excellent, moist cupcake, the frosting a little sweet for my tastes but overall we enjoyed it! Chocolate Brownie: excellent. Had some chocolate chunks, not overly sweet, again in my opinion it didn't need the chocolate frosting ontop. Chess square: not a fan, for us it was too sweet and heavy. Just not for us. Decor: absolutely adorable bake shop, lots of cakes on display and baked goodies. Service: fast and very friendly. We would return again if ever in the area. read more

Wow! Finally tried Caramanda's and it did not disappoint! This place is beautiful on the inside and maybe even too nice for this particular shopping center. I picked out 6 items for my family (one for each) but then we split each item into fourths so we could all try multiple items. Every single item was so good! Six months ago, I left a glowing review for a birthday cake. My husband had gotten from Caramandas. It was so wonderful I wanted to order another one for my half year birthday. We ordered one for Thanksgiving, same cake white with white buttercream icing roses and it had leaves on it. I ordered the cake the first week of October so that I knew they'd have plenty of time for it on Thanksgiving. I picked up the cake on Wednesday the 26th and she opened the box and the leaves were a very unattractive green, which later in the day turned black. I told her the cake was not very pretty on Thanksgiving. We cut the cake. and the layers fell apart because there was not enough icing between the layers The cake was very dry and the icing on the cake tasted very grainy. After my last cake in May, which was amazing, I wanted to say this cake was very disappointing. Some may say it was due to Thanksgiving being hectic for their business, but my last cake was on Mother's Day and there was no problem. It was unfortunate that this cake was not the same as my previous order. We ended up throwing the cake down the disposal . sometimes it works out like it did in May as being a perfect cake and sometimes it works out like it did Thanksgiving, where I would say it was not worth it. read more

Best cakes in Lexington! Since Magee's stopped making cakes ages ago, Caramanda's has been my go to for occasion cakes. They offer a ton of flavors of cake, icing, and filling and will even do custom shapes and printed designs. They also offer large occasion cakes including wedding cakes. They also offer excellent to go options - my favorite are their strawberry shortcake and raspberry white chocolate cupcakes. The cake is always moist and flavorful and the icing is divine. I tried out this place at a friend's recommendation as he said that they do the best cupcakes in town. We bought almost every flavor available n yes, I gotta admit they have a lot of fun flavors. On tasting (and I tasted 3-4 different ones!!)... some were really good like the double chocolate and the coconut, while others were just meh and left a strange layer of fat on my tongue. To each his own I guess. Now coming to why I gave it 3 stars... the girl at the counter was extremely surly! I don't know what happened to her at 1pm on Wednesday but plz, manage a smile when customers enter the shop n buy dozen plus cupcakes. The area behind the counter was a mess! Papers n other stuff all over... have a very messy feel. The cookies looked just average.. nothing to write home about. But what really threw me off were the cakes! Once again, the cookie shapes are just blobs - they look nothing like the cookies displayed on your website. I'm not even a baker and I know this is because you aren't chilling the dough before cutting out the shapes. I loved all of the offerings, but you MUST try the pumpkin cake with maple icing, the key lime cake with raspberry icing, and the pink champagne cake with vanilla icing. In fact we chose ALL THREE flavors for our wedding cupcake tower. I also loved the dreamsicle cupcake that has orange zest and a creamy filling. The sweet girl (with hello kitty earrings) that came to assist me sensed my disappointment and offered to make one for me if I would be willing to wait a few minutes. The cake was exactly as I had asked and i must say it's one of the best tasting cakes I've had. They have a St Patty's day hat cake I saw in an ad and I'm going to have to go back to get that one for my boyfriends birthday which is March 17th. Spending an hour waiting for you to "box it up" without explanation, and then when inquiring what the hold up was being told, they were waiting for the buttercream to set up. Graduation and we're just supposed to sit there? If you gave it to someone else, tell us. If you effed it up, tell us. But don't sit there all non-chalant and ignoring the fact that you effed up. Just own it and maybe ask if we could come back and pick it up later or offer a substitution. Reading reviews elsewhere, it seems you need to learn customer service and how to run a business. While I have not visited this store yet (as I am on a diet, but ignore that fact for the rest of this post), I attended Lexington's Crave Donut Fest and this was one of the bakers for the event. They did not make a donut, but instead, they had a cinnamon roll cupcake that was available. I have to say, that even though it wasn't a donut, it was incredibly delicious, with a nice cinnamon cupcake with creamy frosting with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon on top. I wish I could've taken an extra ticket just to get another cupcake as it was a sublime cupcake. I do hope I get to have a different cupcake from them in the future as I really enjoyed it. read more

This is my favorite place in town to get cupcakes. They have a great selection and flavors alternate based on the published schedule. You can check the flavor schedule online and you can always put in a special order for your favorite(s). I really love all of the seasonal offerings. I ordered a cinnamon roll cupcake to try out and had a good experience. First off, the service was great. They were super patient and happy to describe any of the cupcakes I wanted to know about. The cake itself was extremely tasty- not too sweet, just enough flavor without filling your mouth with cinnamon. That said, it was a super cold cupcake. Nothing against modern preservative measures, but I prefer room temperature cake typically. Also, while the frosting was tasty, there was way too much of it. They should come with their own insulin shot, or at least a spoon to scrape some of it off. Overall though, it was a really great cupcake and I'm sure I'll return for more, albeit with a little bit more time to let them warm up. read more
