Easy in, Easy out, Minor's has been my go-to for all things gardening for a while now. Found the place when we lived in our apartment at Presidio square. I keep coming here because I'm just a creature of habit and it's just so easy. Grab a cart, roll around, load it up, head home and plant. They have just about every plant, shrub, tree, bush, rocks or mulch one could ask for. When it comes to adding the larger purchase items like bushes or shrubs, the best time to buy from Minor's is at seasons end. You'll get some deep discounts for the wait. All our flowers for our summer potting come from Minor's along with our herbs for the herb garden. What I appreciate is the ease of access and the friendly associates who help make my decision making an easy process!

In 2019 we bought a cluster of whitespire birch trees from Minors. Since the initial planting one cluster has had different leaves and been less healthy than the others. We have now been back and forth with Minors for the better part of 2 years trying to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. We have encountered absolutely awful customer service with minimal responsiveness and complete lack of follow through. The initial concern was that one of the trees was not a whitespire because the leaves on one of the trees did not match the other two. We reached out to Mike, the arborist, the following summer in case this issue was related to transplant shock. In summer 2020 the leaves on one cluster were still completely different from the others, just as they were the previous year when the cluster was purchased. When we followed up with Mike again in September of 2020, he suggested this single tree had chlorosis. He sent a Minors worker who was in the area with a bag of iron sulfate salt to help combat the issue. We treated the tree with the iron sulfate three times, twice before winter and once in the spring, but the issue persisted into this year. The tree now looks worse than ever. We have sent pictures to Minor's (one set from September 2020 and the other from May 2021). After an honest effort at treatment and at understanding the issue, this problem has dragged on for what has become two years. We have reached out by phone and by email to Mike many times. Mike was supposed to send someone out to look at the tree in summer of 2021 and never did. We have since emailed the manager Pam and left voicemails with no return contact. Minors' efforts at helping us resolve this have been enormously disappointing. We feel written off and have been made to feel like a nuisance, when this problem could have been easily dealt with by changing out the tree cluster long ago. We will update this review with any resolution from Minor's, but at this point our rating of Minor's and the customer service is abysmal.

Full price tag. Where does it say that I received contractor pricing that would void a warranty?

Last fall, I purchase 4 Emerald Green arborvitae from this place, each $64.99, to plant late in the season. One of the four trees died over the winter. Despite having a warranty card with my receipt, I was denied a replacement on grounds that I purchased at the contractor price. I paid full price listed on the tag. The list price went up $10 the following year, and because my receipt said "Contract sale" I was treated like a contractor, not a retail customer. Over a minor dispute, this business lost a customer for life. I purchased a comparable tree from a different suburban retailer for less than fifteen dollars, and received a two-year warranty. In the long run this business did me a favor. I was going to purchase mulch and landscape stone to prep for next year's growing season. I now know that they don't value business from average customers.

SHAUN manager at Minor's, would not accept this photo as proof that one of their trees died within the warranty period. YOUR OPINION?

AVOID MINOR'S, Their "warranty" is nearly meaningless!!! In 2021 I spent $15,000 on 25 arborvitae and 20 large trees (maples, quaking aspen, flowering crabapples) and, even though I had a contractor, Minor's would not sell to me at the contractor price NOR give me their one-year warranty unless I paid FULL RETAIL. So I did so in order to get the warranty. ONE - just one - of the Arbs died and I called them today to have it replaced. THEY INSISTED I HAD TO CUT DOWN THE TREE AND BRING THE DEAD ITEM TO THEM OR THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT!! This is highway robbery and crappy customer service. I SPEND $15,000 and they insist I spend the time and expense to bring back the dead item? SHAUN their service manager told me to "TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. THAT'S OUR POLICY." Well, Shaun, here is your post. Now all of Milwaukee knows that your one-year guarantee is only worth the price of bringing back the dead corpse to MINORS FUNERAL HOME FOR TREES. MINOR'S "WARRANTY" is MEANINGLESS. I have another $15,000 to spend on trees this year for my 25 acres, but I am bringing my business to Minor's competition. SHAUN, here is the photo that you rejected as proof that one out of 50 trees died. LET ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW WHAT YOU DON'T HONOR.

Minors has the best plants in town with the most variety. If you are looking for something specific or the unusual, this is your best bet. They have a great selection of local plants that are native to the area which means they're really drought tolerant and come up every year. You've got to love low maintenance! Although the business is seasonal they do provide pumpkins and fall and Christmas trees in winter.Along with the Christmas trees they have evergreen branches and Garland which I couldn't find anywhere else in the city and they're very reasonably priced.

My plant and tree one-stop shop. I especially like the 1/2 off clearance sale, but don't tell anyone about it. Shhhhh.

The guy working the help desk needs to retire or find something else to do with his time. He really does not want to be there.

The class was $55 pp. For their classes it is best to call to reserve a spot. This was my first time here and I was blown away by the size of this place. Plus our yard has sum challenges. Such as wet ground in the spring and summer with normal to above rainfall. Also the Charter and telephone utility boxes within 6 feet and our neighbors property. We scheduled an appointment and was told late June or July depending on weather. They realized we were in a dry patch of weather this early summer and came in early June. Kudos for remembering our situation. Paradise Gardens Nursery showed up with a good handful of very professional crew that new the exact job that needed to be done. The clean up after removal was top notch as we had to do no clean up either. They are a local service and I highly recommend them for a tree removal service.
