I rarely leave reviews, but this was one of the worst dental experiences I've had. I initially came in for a routine cleaning and to establish a treatment plan. The hygienist was unprofessional, inattentive, and careless. Water was being sprayed all over me the entire time, and I had to repeatedly ask for a spit cup, which she never provided. Another hygienist had to step in to help, which was embarrassing and completely unacceptable. Oh and it took almost a hour to do my xrays. I even communicated to the office manager that I did not want that hygienist if I ever returned, and looking back, that should have been my first sign not to come back at all. I later returned due to a dental emergency to have a crown repaired. From the start, there was confusion about why I was even there. I clearly stated I came for a crown repair and to ask about a possible filling, yet the doctor documented that I was "upset" simply for correcting her. That note was both unprofessional and inaccurate and felt like an attempt to misrepresent me instead of acknowledging the mistake. During the procedure, I experienced intense sensitivity from the cold air and water. I repeatedly told the doctor it was painful and asked for adjustments. She refused and kept insisting it "had to be that way" instead of making even the smallest effort to make me comfortable. Rather than listening, she chose to argue and dismiss what I was saying. I eventually had to stop everything and request another doctor because I could not tolerate it anymore. The second doctor was no better. My mouth was numbed to the point where I could not move it at all and had to have my mouth physically opened. I was in pain for days afterward, which has never happened to me from a dental visit. After all of this, the final result was a crown that left a visible gap between my teeth. Before agreeing to the procedure, I specifically asked if the crown would eliminate the gap that showed with the temporary, and I was told yes. That gap did not exist before my crown broke, yet now it does. When I went back to address it, I had already requested not to see either of the previous doctors, yet they still tried to assign me to one of them or offered a provider fresh out of residency. At that point, it felt like there was no accountability at all. I was then told the gap was caused by the adjacent tooth, which makes no sense given this was not an issue before. This entire experience was frustrating, uncomfortable, and honestly concerning. Arrived 15 mins early for my appointment. Waited for my name to be called which was around 3 pm. Took about 20 mins for xrays and pics of teeth. Then waited another about 17 mins for the dentist to show up - determine what kind of treatment I needed... just a regular cleaning... Then office manager walks in and tells me they are understaffed and if I could come back again for the cleaning... which is why I was there.... After a terrible experience at another dental office this morning, I called Mint Dentistry hoping they could help and they accommodated me the SAME day. From the moment I walked in until I left, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and personable. The energy was completely different and so refreshing. Lisa was my absolute favorite! She did an amazing job on my cleaning. She was so sweet, gentle, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. I walked out not only with clean teeth but feeling confident and beautiful again when I smiled. They don't just "make sexy teeth" they warm hearts too. I have been going here for years now, and I have never really had an issue aside from one girl who was very unprofessional, but I do not think she is there any longer, I am surprised to see all of these negative comments as all of my experiences have been amazing mainly. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks ago for a dental cleaning at 9 am. I arrived at 8:20 and they took me in for AN HOUR OF X-RAYS. When I finally asked why my dental cleaning was delayed they stated I had to wait for 3 more patients which means I would've left at 12. Not recommended at all. Front desk staff not friendly or knowledgable. I have filed a claim against this practice with my insurance. Not good at all I bet they won't even call me and they will reply with a "thank you please email us at feedback@mintdentistry.com" .....like if I am willing to waste any additional time read more

December 2024 S U M M A R Y Definitely the worst of the four Mint offices that I've been to. I will not be returning. P R O C E D U R E I came in for a standard, regularly scheduled cleaning. The actual cleaning was just OK. Usually, at a cleaning, I am able to tell the dental hygienist what areas I want them to focus on, and I can request that they go over a particular area again, I felt this hygienist did not want to hear any of my feedback or opinions. The interaction with the actual doctor lasted less than five minutes. I have never had a dental appointment like that. Usually they look at your teeth, the doctor calls out numbers to their dental assistant, and the assistant writes down their notes. This is what has happened to me for decades while going to the dentist. At this location, that never happened. It was really odd. It seemed like he just looked at my teeth and were like OK they're good. Granted, my teeth do look really good. But that doesn't mean that I don't want you to look at them further. Per standard procedure, he did ask me if I was having any pain. About 1.5 years ago, I visited the mint dentistry office in Duluth? And they told me that they saw a hairline crack on one of my teeth that was causing sensitivity. They then "filled" in the crack. But I have not stopped experiencing pain since. Once I told him that, and he realized that the tooth was still in pain, I feel like he resolved in his mind that it was above him, and that I should see a specialist. He didn't even look at the rest of my teeth, or do what he was supposed to do. They did give me a take home kit, which was the first time I have received so at Mint Dentistry. S E R V I C E The people at the front desk were extremely rude. When I walked into the office, they didn't greet me, and they were not friendly. In fact, it seem like I just was a stranger off the street walking into their private living room and they were wondering why I was even there. The questions and interaction with them were met with consistent attitude. A M B I E N C E On the surface, it looks like any other Mint Dentistry office. But when you look a little closer, this place is very much rundown. It looks quite dirty and not up to the standards of other Mint Dentistry offices that I've been to. I have gone to Mint Dentistry offices in Dallas, Texas, Norcross, Georgia, and Duluth, Georgia. It depends on where I am at the moment (visiting family) because getting my teeth cleaned multiple times a year is important to me and I'm gonna go to whatever office is closest. This Atlanta location is closest to where I currently live and definitely the worst. To being such an expensive area, the look of the office is a disappointment. I booked an appointment on Monday and they took all my information, I came in at 8am on Friday and was told they didn't accept my dental insurance plan. That would have been nice to know on Thursday. They were so casual about it. I just thanked God that I wasn't in any pain. I've booked an appointment with another dentist. I just wanted customers to be aware, if you are a new patient be sure to confirm that your insurance is accepted before showing up for your appointment. Ok this location redeems last one in College Park. Staff were very nice. They were extremely slow, but thorough. I would go back, but pack a lunch. They took their time and made sure everything was good. I left with a plan and very clean teeth. read more

They give me the run around with the incorrect prices on my insurance and then tell me I need to be seen again to give me new prices with new insurance. Who knows if those will be correct, and then schedule the procedure. If you want to run around, not know what you will pay, be told they accept this insurance, but ita not the correct prices - then go with Mint Dentistry in Midtown read more

I visited them twice after getting a temporary crown to replace a crown at their sister location, Mint Decatur, and was experiencing a lot of pain (I later found out the dentist Mint Decatur drilled intoy nerve) . I went there both times when Mint Decatur was closed, a Friday and the following Tuesday. During the first visit, I had a lot of pain iny jaw and was bleeding. They told me the bleeding I was experiencing was because of some cement stuck between my temp crown and the adjacent molar and that the pain I was feeling was because the crown was too tall, so they filed it down. When I was still bleeding several days layer and the pain got worse over the weekend, radiating through my entire right side of my jaw and up my joint to the point where I couldn't actually eat, I went back to them next Tuesday because Mint Decatur was closed...again. I made the appointment and, when I got there, I was led back there by a dental assistant. Even though there were inly one or two other patients there, I sat for 30 minutes in the chair and finally was told by the office manager I couldn't be seen by them and that I needed to go back to Mint Decatur...which was closed that day. I told them I was bleeding and in extreme pain, taking 4 aleve at time with no effect and that I was worried about an infection. The office manager came and went 2 more times before he finally asked the dentist to look in mouth after he saw me holding back tears from the pain I was in. When the dentist finally came in, she seemed annoyed to have to talk to me and she oly very briefly looked in my mouth without taking x-rays. She said my gums looked healthy and there was nothing she could do. She seemed skeptical of my pain. After I literally burst into tears from the pain, she eventually she would refer me to an endodontist, wrote me a prescription for ibuprofen 800 mg, and promised the front would call the Endodontist and get me an appointment asap. I told her and the assistant I already had a referral to an endodontist for an abscess on the other side of my mouth (which it turns out resulted from an overly aggressive basic cleaning when the hygentist at Mint Decatur knicked my tori and chipped my bottom front tooth). I told the dental assistant my insurance company didn't cover the Endodontist they wanted me to go to and the earliest appointment I could get with another Endodontist was almost a month away. She assured me they would find an Endodentist within my network and get me an appointment asap. When I went up to the front, they told me the Endodontist they work with isn't covered by my insurance company (which I already knew and had informed them of) but that I should go to them anyways and work it out with the insurance company after (which is not how dental insurance works). They handed me the referral and sent me on my way. I felt so dismissed and cried the whole Marta ride back to Decatur. Again, it turned out I needed a root canal because the previous dentist at their sister location drilled through my nerve. I was in excruciating pain for almost a month. The worst part is they billed me for a full visit for that second visit (it was a post-op for the temp crown so there shouldn't have been a bill) and for x-rays that were never taken. ZERO STARS! When came last week to have a deep cleaning done, the doctor who numbed me did a great job... i have a fear of needles so getting stuck with the needle ofc was a big thing for me... but after she was done i felt absolutely nothing for the rest of my visit and everything that needed to be done was completed with no problems. Today i go in to get the other half of my mouth done... Dr. Upchurch (different doctor than last time) stated she would have to stick me 4 times to numb my gums to have the deep cleaning done... again fear of needles so i know needles are a big thing for me.. but i got thru it last time.. i was going to stick thru it again this time... but i have NEVER felt the pain i felt today... ive had braces, i've had 3 wisdom teeth pulled yet the pain i felt when she stuck me today especially the 4th time, doesn't even slightly compare to any dental pain i've ever felt before... the WORST. Then the Hygienist... (the same lady from last time) goes to start the cleaning but it's uncomfortable because i could feel EVERYTHING, to the point i had to stop the entire appointment and leave.... i was stuck FOUR times by the doctor to numb my gums.. yet NONE of the gums that were supposed to be numbed by the shots were numbed... so my question is... WTF DID SHE DO??? why is it just my lip and cheek that's numb?? I told her it felt like i was stuck in my cheek and not my gums because it didn't feel the same as last time.. my gums didn't feel numb to which she told me "each side of your mouth is different" .... applying anesthesia to my cheek instead of my gum is crazy.. Why is she a dentist if she can't even apply the anesthesia correctly? i will be figuring out how to contact the board or whoever regarding this.... this is extremely unacceptable. so that mean the anesthesia was placed in my lip and my cheek not at all my gum... UNACCEPTABLE. now i understand the people who have a bad dentist experience and never go back... it makes me want to do the same.. but i know i DEFINITELY won't be back to that location if i decide to ever try to finish what all i need to get done. read more

First off, when I got here they were acting very rude and their responses to my questions were answered by them acting like I didnt know what was going on. Second of all, I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning but all they did was look around my teeth and made us pay upfront after saying insurance would cover it. OH-EM-GEE can I just start off by saying the layout is EVERYTHING!!!! I walked in bc I was lost but fell in love. Hunter at the front desk was so sweet. Dr. Fuller addressed every silly little concern I had about my teeth, & gentle. Her assistants were nice as well totally calmed me down and helped me redirect my thoughts (major dental anxiety). This practice absolutely positively sucks. If I could give zero stars I would. I'm actually confused as to why they are in business since no one there seems to know how to run one. On my second appointment to this place, I was a few mins early, however I had to wait ~20 mins. I could not spend all day in the dentists office so I had to get back to work and I promptly left. When I told them I had to leave they said they were running behind. In the office there were at least 3 ppl working and a fourth was in a side office. There was no one in the lobby. So none of these ppl who looked like they weren't really doing anything couldn't text me and tell me that they were running late? There was zero communication. After I left, I never heard from them again, no one called to see if they could reschedule me, or even to apologize for wasting my time. No follow up. I then called their corporate office twice and requested a manager callback. No one called. I used to like this place, and even gave them a couple of chances to explain themselves and retain me as a patient.
