This is the third city that we've done a hop on hop off tour, and I would say that it's the best way to tour a city. With this tour, there are thirteen stops. Luckily one was near our hotel in the downtown are so we were able to walk and hop on. We hopped off at the Farmer's Market, the Marathon Factory and Midtown near the University. Nashville Hop On Hop Off Trolley Tour [Nashville TN] We booked online in advance a one day Nashville Trolley Tour and when we arrived on the scheduled day everything checked out good at the kiosk with no hassle. We usually ride a full loop before we tick off all must-see sights. A full loop took about 90-minutes with 13 stops. We joined the tour at Stop #7 in front of the Country Music Hall of Fame. There was a 20-min pause at Stop #1 at the Marathon Motor Works so I quickly did some shopping at one of the souvenir shops. We hopped off Stop #8 on Broadway to get lunch, this was where we spent most of our time. Most of the sites were non eventful, we were just riding around city streets. Time quickly went by that we didn't really have time to hop off the other sites to explore. By around 3:30 sometime in the afternoon we were told that they cannot guarantee that we would be dropped off at our desired stop which was Stop #7 and the best they could do was drop us off at Stop #6... from there we did our self-guided tour and drove to places ourselves. The driver was funny while he gave a live commentary. If you get Yung on your tour you will be entertained by his wit and sense of humor. This is not a double-decker bus. Owen was our tour guide . Very professional, knowledgeable, informative and friendly. Bus is nice and spacious. Plenty of seating. 13 stops to hop on and off and wait time is 20-30 mins. The tour itself is 1 hr 45 min from start to finish. Hours of operation is 9:30-4pm. Trolley's are all weather and rain or shine. I got these tickets on a site called Get your Guide. One of the best ways to see the city, in my opinion. With 13 stops in total, you get to see and learn so much about the Music city. Our typically move is we ride all the way around once to get our bearings, then hop off and back on when we want. Everyone stops for about 15 minutes at stop one. This gives you an opportunity to check out the motor works complex. Many, many stores, a coffee shop, a distillery, and a wine stop (the last two with FREE samples!). They also have two sets of restrooms with easy access to the bus. The drivers were funny and goofy and had a lot of good places and personal advice for first time Music City participants. We enjoyed this trolley over two days (which was the best value) as a way to get to nd from around the city. When I looked to get a round trip to the Tennessee State Museum from the Renaissance it was going to be $26 round trip. The two day price well paid for itself to hop on and hop off to enjoy this museum and the rest of the stops. I enjoyed this trolley and will return. read more

Drey was our driver and boy was he entertaining! Good booming voice narrating our tour, peppered with dry humor and puns. If you ride all 13 stops straight, it's about 2 hours. There are many interesting facts we learned on the tour that we would have missed otherwise. We hopped off at the Music Hall of Fame and the Marathon Motor Works. Both were great to explore. The Music Hall of Fame was all genres of music. We hopped off at the Assembly Food Hall. It has a bunch of restaurants and a great ambiance. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Misinformation and poor communication when we arrived at stop 1 way earlier than anticipated. Driver "highly suggested" we leave the bus as it wasn't scheduled to depart until 1020a. There was another bus parked in front of us also. This implied that they would be leaving at 1020. It seems no one wanted to get off at this stop but we were all Pressured to get off. After meandering around in the gift shops, we had set a timer to remind us to head back outside to hop back in the bus before the stated 1020a time only to see that both buses were now gone! This appeared that we missed the bus and would have to wait an additional 20 min for the next bus to come around. Our intention for this was to ride the loop then decide where we'd like to stop. We wound up wasting time at a stop that no one on the bus even wanted to see. Piss poor communication on the drivers side as he "left" to get another bus. I was ticked off and then got crap and attitude from the gangly rude kid that interrupted me that was there from St Augustine. Interestingly, none of the other stops had attendants present ; just this stop. The guise that they were running ahead of schedule was likely made up since clearly your company has the route mapped out and know the time till it takes to do a full Loop. He likely needed a cigarette or bathroom break and made up this story in order to do that. Just a load of baloney being dished out read more

This was my first time in Nashville & this was such a great way to explore the town. There are 13 stops and I did all but one. I love the flexibility of hopping on & off whenever I wanted. All our drivers were friendly and passionate. My only suggestion is to please have shady areas for all your pickup spots. New to the Nashville area we saw this bus tour very similar to a tour in my hometown. We were entertained by both bus drivers Young + Lance. They really knew the area and gave us tourists places we should check out in the downtown area. We had to do a little walking because the bus wasn't able to go back into the heart of downtown after 5:00pm. We still had a great time walking around enjoying the sights. I am providing feedback about the Nashville Old Town Trolley Tours. I'll keep it brief: 1. The official website advertised as low as $41 2. The official website would not let us "Buy Tickets" yesterday morning Aug 5 for over an hour on multiple devices. Others had the same issue. 3. The phone number is not readily available. 4. Upon calling, the woman answering said: she didn't know anything about the website, she would not transfer me to someone who did, she would not transfer me to her manager, she would not sell the tickets at the $41 price 5. Our first driver for stops 1-8 was great. 6. We hopped off for lunch. 7. We went to hop on at stop 8 after lunch and there was no bus! The tour hostess had us line up against a blazing hot brick wall in full sun no shade with temps around 90 and very high humidity for at least a half hour. Think pizza oven. She should have moved us to the other side of the street in the shade until she figured out what was going on. Good way to kill old people. 8. Dispatch did not know what was going on. 9. Eventually we were told that they would send an emergency bus. This was a lie. The next bus to stop was full. The second bus was almost filled but we were able to get on. 10. It was jam packed. The bus driver had to stand up and count seats at each of the next stops. Not a math whiz. 4 empty seats. 2 people leave. 3 people come on. How many seats are now empty? 11. We were tag teaming, the second bus at the remainder of the stops. Very poorly organized. The first and second drivers had to explain to waiting people that their buses were full and they would have to wait. 12. No AC on the buses of course and the day got hotter. And it was stressful, but to make matters worse, this driver was super high energy. Wired. He talked a mile a minute which came out very distorted over the microphone, and he kept saying "Right?" "Right!" "Right..." after every few words. This is a habit he needs to break if he plans to be in public speaking. He knew the material from what I could gather. 13. And then of course, he had to stop at stop 1 for a pee break, his words not mine. So we sat again going nowhere. 15. I wonder how drivers are scheduled to leave early or stay later when buses start dropping out after 4pm? 14. Stuff happens but your business needs much better contingency plans, and better drivers, or lower prices. $20 value not a $45 value read more

I loved the Old Town Trolley experience it took us to places that we wanted to see & the rest we either Uber'd or walked. It took us to about 12 or 13 different stops. We did the whole tour and then decided on the spots we wanted to hop on & hope off at. Luckily, we didn't have to experience waiting for trolleys & not being able to get on because it was full. The sides were open so you could see alot. We got to see the gulch, 2 museums (we past by a 3rd museum, the African American Music museum & I was surprised that our tour guide didn't even mention it. He mentioned the assembly hall right next door but not this museum). Don't know if some of the other tour guides at least mention it. This museum was absolutely awesome I had the most fun in that one since it was interactive. I did feel the price is a lot for hop on hop off, I've been to others that was cheaper but ‍ I loved the experience. I also liked different tour guides had their own spin & razor dazzle, my last tour guide I know I would've enjoyed the most because he had the most jokes & animation but I only had him for a stop. Very hit or miss, with an emphasis on miss. The first driver/guide we had was literally the worst tour I have had in my life. I'm local and we had some out of town family for whom we thought this might be fun. We got hectored about leaving the (plastic) back window open, that the buses stop running at 4 pm (it was 11:30 am), to stay seated, he'd get fined if he opened the door as he's pulling out from a stop, to talk in whispers if at all, and promos for Lightning 100 (a local radio station) and Frothy Monkey (a local coffee chain), and also that the driver's preferred nickname is "handsome", and that he works in lighting and we need to applaud his ability to execute turns in the big bus. He also told us that Vanderbilt gives full rides to legacy students (it doesn't) and that we were going to have a rainstorm in an hour (we didn't). But want to know why Belmont University is important to Nashville, or that it used to be a women-only college? Not a peep! As we passed by the Kefauver building without guide comment, my husband whispered to his mother that Estes Kefauver was the senator responsible for creating the Comics Code of the 1950s and she asked him to speak up because she is 85 ffs and then all hell broke loose and the driver told us all to shut up. So there we were getting scolded and schooled on all the things noted above again and again as we stopped at the Country Music Hall of Fame (get off if you want to know what's there) and flew right past the Cumberland River, Fort Nashborough, the founding of Nashville statue, and straight through Printer's Alley with nary a nod, although I'm assuming the route went along these points for a reason, and I couldn't even whisper to the cousins to point out these landmarks and why they are important. We did get the lamest possible history about the Ryman (i.e. founded by a river boat captain) and recommendations for Robert's Western World and Tootsie's before getting off there. By the way, only we locals knew it was community day, so there was free music and tours at the Ryman, and the poor tourists left behind never learned that African American Music Museum and Assembly Food Hall are literally across from the trolley stop, and Bridgestone Arena (for hockey games and big concerts) is only 1 block down. After touring the Ryman and having hot chicken at Prince's (inside the hall), we vowed that if we had the same driver, we'd rather walk back to Centennial Park and point out Hume-Fogg high school and other sights along Broadway/West End at our leisure. But we got a different driver and we sat in the back. This time there was some problem with the audio so we couldn't hear the tour well, but at least this driver was talking about the landmarks we passed, the windows were rolled up so we could enjoy the fresh air, and he waited patiently to let people on and off at the Farmer's Market. It was still thin on information, but this time when we got to Marathon Village, we could talk and tell our visitors that it used to be a car factory and that is it a museum as well as a quirky mall (as well as a music venue further down, together with Greenbrier Distillery, which gives tours). Here the audio got fixed and when we rounded the Parthenon (currently closed) we could share that it is pretty on the inside but the art is comically bad. That's where we ended our tour and went to enjoy some music at Musician's Corner (and if that's not happening you can brave the Springwater). Honestly, it would have been better with a recorded track or a separate talking tour guide than feeling like a middle schooler with an angry bus driver. I had more fun on the cheesy NashTrash tour in 2017 -- also thin on history and information but at least that one was fun. read more

This is such a fun tour to do while you're in Nashville, especially if you're visiting the area for the first time. The drivers are knowledgeable and it was fun learning more about the city. You can hop off the location you want to explore more, do some shopping, get breakfast, whatever, and hop back on the trolley when you're done. The only thing I did not like was that the trolley made us stop at the Marathon Motor Works to give a driver a break. We had to wait 30-45 minutes to get the next trolley because there was such a huge line and the other trolleys filled up so quickly. It felt very disruptive. read more

I see these buses all over New York City as well as the people offering deals at Time Square. I'm working, I'm focused and don't have time to sit on a bus. Put me in vacation mode? I see a Old Town Trolley Tours bus and my wife agrees its a good idea to see a different perspective of Nashville. We buy our tickets and away we go! First, I recommend doing the entire loop first so you can see the city. We drove by two museums and decided to hop off and start our day seeing the music museum which I highly recommend. The bus sides are open and we were able to enjoy the beautiful weather. The bus driver is navigating the bus and talking about all the historic Nashville spots. They were able to provide video on the TVs to help with the various Nashville stories. My only issue, the one day pass is a little pricey. I'd like to see a discount for military and various coupons like: Hop off at the Gulch section and join us for lunch, $20 off with your bus pass. How about $5 off the museum price with your bus pass? Worst city tour EVER. We love taking these tours to learn more about the cities we visit. The $110 (for 2) and 2 hours of our time was a total loss. The tour is a hop on and hop off program. After the first stop, we all realized that we might not be able to get back to our original location IF we got off. There were numerous stops with 10-20 people waiting and no spots on the bus (totally oversold tickets). AND the tour guide offered very little historical info about the area. read more
