I was in town for a wedding and reached out to several salons for a shampoo and blow-out. Mint Julep was the first to respond and was able to schedule me in with Mallory Harter. Mallory Harter was gentle and did a beautiful job on my hair. When She offered to use purple shampoo on my treated blonde hair without me having to suggest it, I knew that I had a winner. I told her that I was on a time crunch since I had to be in Alexandria Bay for a wedding and she had me shampooed and my hair round brushed and styled from start to finish in 45 minutes! Thank you so much Mallory for taking such excellent care of me while I was in town. I will definitely come see you again if I'm ever that way. Jackie does such great work! I have seen her for high and low lights, thinning and cuts and was pleased each time. She also did a really good trim on my 3.5 year old that is a bit antsy and also made the experience fun for her. She is very thorough in the "consultation" part of the apppintment so we both are clear on the outcome. She has been flexible with appointments before when I had to flip times and also when I only had a certain amount of time for an appointment. Her pricing is super affordable, especially for the great work she does. The salon is visually appealing and always clean. I am always greeted very kindly and offered a beverage. Got a Brazilian for the first time in years done by Jodi, very efficient but thorough from pre to post care. She uses organic products that smell wonderful: lavender and tea tree oil feel good spray. Highly suggest buying the post care oil and honey comb exfoliator from her. I would've gotten my nails done by her too, had I had the time. The staff and salon & spa office is a calming environment where I felt relaxed the moment I walked in and the offered me a drink, excellent customer service. read more

I'm a little peeved that someone gave this place a 1 star because "the same people on the website aren't there anymore" without giving much regard to the service, prices, ect. Because of the 1 star on yelp, I almost passed this place by. I chose to go anyway based on the recommendation of one of my co workers and I am SO GLAD I DID. I had Julie to cut my hair and she is amazing. She took her time, verified exactly what I wanted, and was so precise and meticulous I felt completely at ease with her even though it was my first time with her. I mentioned I was considering getting highlights and lowlights and she patiently went through the process and showed me color samples. She also was very good at explaining the products she put in my hair but never tried to up sell the services or push any purchases on me. For the price and level of service I got they definitely deserve a 5 star. I love the stylists there they were all friendly and I couldn't help but notice how happy their customers were as they were leaving. I don't like to give a business a 5 star if I haven't gone at least more than once but this place just left me happy. :) Also I asked about their site cause I was REALLY annoyed that before I went I wanted to research them a bit and it was down. Apparently theyre revamping it and it should hopefully be up soon. read more

Needless to say it didn't do much of anything for shorter brow and lip hair. She still charged me $20 for a lip and brow wax. I used to be a regular, but that will be the last time I come here. I went there last summer for a pedicure, it was the worst experience I ever had. They have chairs that are bench seats , and to get your toes polished is very uncomfortable position for your feet. The wax specialist was 40 mins late to our appointment. She explained herself and I felt bad for how rushed she was getting there but I did appreciate that she took her time with the wax itself, so that was okay. The wax left me with lots of hair left behind and lots of breakage. I had a terrible reaction afterwards - not sure if it had to do with the cleanliness of the tools, the wax or the technique... everyone reacts differently to a wax. But overall, I'd say it was an unpleasant and overpriced experience. read more

A couple weeks later I had an event and had a hair appointment with a different stylist, Mallory. the night before my appointment me canceled! However, she at least tried to get someone to cover my appointment- but only available was 7 hours after my initial appointment time. Worst experience with this salon. Poor professionalism. I called to make an appointment and was told they were booked for the day and could take my number in case anything opened up. Within 45 min I received a phone call back and Tammy said she would be more than happy to take me at 4pm. Once I arrived I realized the sign said they were closed, she stayed after her regular hours to do my hair! I was blown away by this act of kindness. Not only was she fabulous, I loved my haircut and color after. With it being my first time she even gave me a tour of the salon. Been coming here for my hair cuts and I'm really impressed. The staff there are awesome and very skilled in their crafts. There's wine, coffee, or drinks to offer customers waiting! Like wow? That's awesome right? The facility is extremely clean, well decorated, and backed with staff that care about their profession and making their customers happy. It is preferred to book appointments ahead of time, which I definitely recommend doing, but the staff are very flexible with their schedule and will always try to accommodate you. Another thing I love about this place is that it's so diverse in their crafts. Starting from a salon to massages. They have everything you need with the right equipment and personnel to address your needs. The pricing is decent, but the environment and staff makes it worthwhile to come here. While in town visiting, I made an appointment for an underarm wax. I called 4 days ahead of time and was told there was an available appointment at 12:45. As we ended the phone call, I was told the appointment would be at 12:30. I asked the time again, just to clarify, and was told 12:30. I received a confirmation text the day before the appointment for 12:45, but figured I was told to come in 15 minutes early in order to (perhaps) fill out a questionnaire as I was a first time client. The day of the appointment, I arrived at 12:30 and was not greeted for 10 minutes. Once someone came to the front, I was told that Brittany was in the back and would be out to get me soon. 10 minutes after that, I was told by another employee that a different person would be taking care of me because Brittany was not in fact there. By the time she was done with a client's hair, it was 1:15 and I had been waiting for 45 minutes. Brittany had told her my appointment was at 1. When all was said and done, I spent an hour and fifteen minutes getting what should have been a 20 minute wax. After being told I would receive a discount on the service, I was charged the full amount. Clearly there is an issue with communication and scheduling at this salon and it was an extremely poor first (and only) experience. read more

I got my hair cut by Jackie a few months ago. When I called to make the appointment, I requested someone who SPECIALIZES in curly and short hair. They paired me with Jackie and got me in the next day, which was awesome! She was very nice and we talked a bit. She showed me that she has very curly natural hair (her hair was straightened at the time) and explained to me what she does for her own hair. Well, I am pretty sure that they only considered her someone who specializes in curly hair because she has it, because my hair came out horribly. I made it very clear to her that it was a huge deal for me to be making this change, as my hair was incredibly long and I had lost a lot of my hair after having my son a few months prior. I requested it be cut short and in a way that I could let my hair do its thing without getting too out of control. My hair ended up uneven, with horrible layers that made no sense, and everything about it made me feel like a boy. I am so grateful that my hair grows fast because I'm just now finally starting to feel better about it. read more

I just moved here from California and hadn't been able to find a place to get a wax in months! I finally found this place and gave them a call, they fit me in an hour later. I also had Jodi she was amazing and very professional. They use a hard wax which jodi explained was a lot better because it wraps around the hair and doesn't pull on the skin making it a much easier experience! And she was right I hardly felt anything and it was done very quickly! I strongly advice anyone looking for a good wax or giving it a try for the first time to come here! Love this place, so far. I had my hair cut here last year when it was called "curled." I did ask for it to be long enough to put in a bun (I'm in the Army) and it wasn't but it was still a great haircut. Today I got a Brazilian. My second in a month and 3rd in my life. 4 weeks ago I went all the way to Syracuse because I didn't think there was more than one place here that did them. Jodi is awesome and you can even get her number from the front desk and text her and she texts you advice and reminders. She was extremely friendly and informative and seemed to know a lot about skin care and hair, and waxing of course. It took no time at all and overall tolerable pain. I will definitely be coming back to Jodi for all of my waxes and I'll probably try out her nail trade too read more

This place has completely changed. Half of the people named on the website are gone and the new ones aren't even listed. Everyone is independent which means they come and go on their hours.
