Dr. Greg - I've been seeing him for a good ten years. He has a great bedside manner, and is extremely knowledgably. I've gone from having massive pain (back pain from my reckless youth and injuries due to surgery) to being a complete human again. Dr. Andrew has also treated me and he's just as good (and my wife sings his praises as well). Front desk staff - The ladies are great and responsive. I love the text alerts and they are extremely good with following with insurance, invoices to aid with FSA reimbursements. I cannot stress how good they are. My primary care doctor's office is horrendous, with constant dropped calls, "please hold" that goes no where. It's not just back adjustments. From the warm packs, to the cooling machines, to the theraguns and those crazy rods for the Graston techniques, that office has the coolest "toys." I messed up hand and elbow and thought it was carpal tunnel. Dr. Greg correctedly diagnosed what I had, offered me some suggestions and I am feeling great. read more

This review is for the lovely and fabulous Dr. Laura Landgraf. If you are in need of chiropractic care, run, don't walk, to see Dr Lara. Dr Laura is the perfect mix of what a health professional should be: compassionate, available, prompt and knowledgeable to a fault. As an added bonus, Dr Laura is quite versed in Naturopathic medicine and was able to suggest two herbal medications to me which have been working wonderfully. She's also gone above and beyond the call of duty and given me some exercises to strengthen my core. While she enjoys helping all people from all walks of life, her special interest is in helping expectant mamas. I refer all my mamas in need of chiropractic care to her as she is knowledgeable about pregnancy as well as passionate about pregnancy. And for the left brain people in the house, sessions are quite reasonable ($60 per session), insurance is accepted and parking is easy. read more

Really can't say enough great things about Dr. Greg and the staff. While I'm sure all the other chiropractors are exceptional, I've only worked with Dr. Greg - who is probably the closest thing to a modern day voodoo witch doctor. Seriously, let me explain why. A few years ago I had a couple compression fractures on my lower vertebrae after falling backwards on cement. After lots of steroid injections in my back, pain pills, and a bunch of other useless stuff, I decided to try chiropractic. After visiting Dr. Greg for a consultation, he was convinced he could help me. No joke, about 3 months later I was off the pain pills, and starting to exercise regularly again without any pain. Fast forward 6 months. Having been running daily for a while now, my spine is able to take the long distance mileage again. After pushing myself to 8-10 miles a day, I began feeling a very sharp pain in my lower calf / achilles area that prevented me from running at all. Having had such great success with Dr. Greg's work, I decided to pay him another visit. I explained to him the current situation and again was confident that he could help. Dr. Greg explained what was happening and why I was experiencing pain, and offered a technique called muscle scraping (I think). While this was quite painful, I was literally pain free by the time I walked out the door of Health Fit Chiropractic. Who else could do that aside from a voodoo witch doctor!? Anyway, the 5 stars are not just for Dr. Greg, but the girls working the front desk as well. They're incredibly pleasant, and very prompt. Coming into the new year I didn't have my insurance card yet, so the girls made sure to email me and take care of talking to my insurance and getting that whole situation squared away (which is great, because dealing with insurance sucks). All in all, the facility is very nice, the staff is excellent, and I always leave feeling like a million bucks. I went in last Monday to use a Groupon for some massage therapy. It was AMAZING. I have some very specific problem areas and issues from having been hit by a car as a pedestrian (beware of those Berkeley drivers--and well-lit crosswalks don't necessarily keep you safe) and the constant dissertation writing and kid-rearing, which I indicated on the requisite form and in conversation with my massage therapist, Briana, on the way to the massage room. Of course I held out hope that she would actually focus on those areas, unlike every other professional massage therapist I've gone to who employs a basic routine that they apply universally, AND SHE DID. It was AMAZING. I was literally high after the massage.. so many toxins and endorphins released. PURE HEAVEN. Complimentary to that, I found every staff member to be very friendly and approachable (not an ounce of attitude). The office is very clean, open, and spacious. I'm going back for my chiropractic consult today. Even though my grad student parent budget is telling me no, I'm also going back for another massage! read more

I started with Health Fit when Dr. Vrankovich was renting space from another clinic in Oakland. I ran into him at my gym and had a discussion with him about some ongoing shoulder issues. I visited him for a number of weeks and moved with him into his new office in Jack London Square. Over the past year and a half I've seen his practice grow from a hole in the wall to an amazing, state of the art facility with multiple physicians, massage therapy, and many other amenities for the infirmed. I switched my insurance through my job because the plan I was on didn't cover his facility! Just recently my partner hurt his back and was in excruciating pain. Having a direct line to the doctor I contacted him immediately. He worked his magic and gave us a same day appointment to handle the issue personally. I live in the same building as Health Fit and randomly stumbled into this place after seeing a sign for "headache relief" -- I was desperate as I had been struggling with headaches for the last month. Dr. V was able to find some issues with my neck and shoulders and worked them out. After about 5 visits and extensive neck work my headaches were minimalized to the point that I could work normally. Dr. V's attention to detail and sympathy was encouraging and uplifting. I'd recommend anyone to this place. Update: I just returned from a trip to Mexico, where I hit my head pretty badly. Dr V was able to move around his schedule to see me and xray me the next day (they have an xray machine on site). I LOVE Healthfit Chiropractic Center! I discovered Healthfit about two years ago when I was about 12 weeks pregnant and already in so much pain. I heard through a few friends that a chiropractor could help with my headaches and groin pain, but of course I was a bit skeptical. I starting researching and looking into someone that was experienced with pregnant people, and ran into some great reviews on Dr. Laura Landgraf from Healthfit. Before I get into how incredible Dr. Laura is, I want you to know how professional and how accommodating the entire staff is! They make you extremely comfortable and are always so sweet. I never had a problem switching an appointment or after having my daughter, being able to bring her during my appointments. Dr. Laura is so gentile and will never make you do anything you didn't feel comfortable with. I know this is a huge fear from a lot of people with bad chiropractic experiences. Dr. Laura happened to be pregnant at the time when I was seeing her, so we could connect on even a deeper level of understanding my issues. I saw Dr. Laura 2x a week when I was 12 weeks pregnant, all the way until my daughter turned one and we had to move to Southern California. I had horrible migraines and pelvic bone separation when I was pregnant and honestly, I don't think I could have gotten by without Dr. Laura's care. She never felt like your "typical" chiropractor, ever. She always mixed in massage and heating along with my treatments. She even treated my mom and my husband. I couldn't speak more highly of her. Dr. Laura Rules! I've had two other chiropractors over the past 30 years and she is the first to provide a full hour of therapy as well as instruction and holistic care for self maintenance. Most just give hou enough treatment to keep you coming back. HealthFit works to get you healthy then keep you fit. HealthFit Chiropractic is awesome! The staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Greg pretty much saved my body! I had a fractured foot and other than being a hairstylist and it's hard on your body but overcompensating just happens when you break something. I feel lucky to have a chiro that isn't just a 5 minute crack my back take my money be on your way kinda chiropractor! Boy have I had those! And might I add I've only been seeing him for 3months now! Not only did he help me while foot was broke but my shoulder and upper back (issues prior to injury) are pretty much non-existent! Dr V is one of the few chiropractors I have ever been to that plan a schedule so you DON'T have to come back! He fixed my ankle, and my knee and have not had issues for over a year now. Today I just tweaked my neck very badly, and I'll be swinging by again for a few visits. I have Kaiser so I use my FSA from work to pay for visits. I L-O-V-E this place, I went here becuase I fell and my back was hurting more that usual, so I came here through recommendation, I saw Dr. Stella, who was so attentive to my needs, during our session we had great converstation and hse always explianed what she was doing before she did it. my back is really tight so I have to come in a couple times a month pricing is resonable I gues 65.00 per visit after the first visit. I will be seeing her this friday for a follow-up and also making an appt for a massage! The one thing that sticks out during out session when she was ready to crack my neck she said " dont work it will be quick i'm a ninja" LOL I guess she saw the fear in my eyes when I knew she was about to crack my neck, but it felt so good afterwards. Dr Greg is awesome. I tore my gastronemius muscle in October. Started seeing Dr Greg in Novemeber (found via Groupon or Living Social deal). I have seen many other chiropractors and practitioners, and still like more traditional chiropractic for some things but his treatment which feels like a combination of chiropractic, physical therapy and XYZ, has been very effective for me. The facility has lots of cool equipment too like a hydrotherapy massage bed. Definately a great find!! read more

I had a similar experience as another reviewer. I called for an appointment and the receptionist took my insurance details and told me she would call me back to advise if they were in network. She did not call me and I assumed there were no issues. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told my treatment would not be covered under my insurance. I was upset and angry and felt she deliberately didn't tell me prior to the appointment. I stayed for the appointment as I was in pain, had already taken time off work and drove all the way there, but I felt this was shady business practice. Dr. Greg and the entire team here are the BEST. Dr. Greg has been our Chiropractor for years. He services my entire family including my children who are all athletes. Whether you are in pain like me from tendinitis, back pain, or have a freak accident like spraining your ankle while hiking on a trail (pointing to myself), he is your guy. My daughter recently tore her ACL and meniscus away at college in TX playing basketball. She had surgery and was rehabbing in TX. Once she came home for the summer there was NO lapse in her recovery. Dr Greg Vqrankovich is an extremely gifted hands on healer. I was initially extremely reluctant to try chiropractic technique to address a constant knee pain. My M.D. prescribed pain pills which clearly would not address the underlying problem. After just four sessions at Healthfit with Greg the pain entirely went away. I love going to see Dr. Greg! I've had other chiropractors before, and I really appreciate him for the effective treatments that help keep my back issues from flaring back up. I was in pain and super stiff when I first started seeing him. He got my back under control, and I now see him on a regular basis just to keep adjusted and limber. It is so worth it to have a regular treatment so that my back issues don't get to a really bad place. He always seems to find exactly what is bothering me and make very effective adjustments. I leave feeling so much better! In addition to his treatments, one of the great things about Dr. Greg is that he keeps current on medical research and studies. If you ask him, he loves to explain the "why" behind what he's doing, what might be causing your problem and what the latest thinking is about effective treatment. For one recurring back issue, he talked to me about possible causes and helped me realize that stretching my hips regularly would really help -- and it has. The office is very nice -- clean, modern and filled with all kinds of equipment. Love the roller massage table and the table that stretches you (gently) to relieve compression on your spine. And, the front desk staff members are absolutely outstanding. They are super friendly and welcoming. They always recognize me and speak by name. Every time, I get a call the day before my appointment confirming and reminding me. Scheduling the next appointment is never a hassle like it is with some doctors. Seeing Dr. Lau at HealthFit has been my first experience with a chiropractor and I did not know what to expect. I have been truly impressed with the attention that I have received as well as the results. I have dealt with chronic foot pain for over ten years, and for the first time I feel like someone else cares. Dr. Lau works with the bones and the soft tissue in my feet to put things back where they should be. Within a few visits, my pain had significantly decreased. Dr. Greg Vrankovich is a miracle worker! He fixed my torn calf muscle in no time and then moved on to my ailing hip that had been injured for about 8 months. His adjustments and especially his ART (active release technique) always made a big difference in my ability to exercise and play tennis competitively. He even had me fitted for custom orthotic shoe inserts that took my battered flattening feet and evened them out again. These inserts have allowed the healing in my hip to be more permanent and comprehensive. While I still have a tight IT band on that side, the pressure my flat feet put on it has lessened and so has the pain. I can now play tennis without having to hobble off the court. Greg also took the time to show me some exercises and stretches that help me between sessions. He is caring, gentle, informed, and dogged in his desire to heal people with sports and other injuries. So i came here after falling off my scooter and skidding down a hill for a quarter of a mile on my tuckus. Then, a few days late I received an offer for a groupon to this place. Kismet, I thought. It was a 200 buck or so offer, for a chiropractic assessment and one hour massage -- all for only $50! Wow! What a deal! (i thought). Well, turns out they only work during weekday business hours so it was pretty difficult to schedule and I had to schedule during my work day. I was 10 min late (sorry!!) and the masseuse was obviously in a rush to be out of there, so I I got a 40 min massage, which felt pretty rushed throughout. The chiropractic "assessment" entailed sitting down with a chiropractor who told told me they didn't take my insurance (kaiser). That was it! No 'assessing' my spine, no 'assessing' my alignment. just 'assessing' my insurance and ability to continue as a client. So really , this "$200 value!" was a pretty amateur, rushed, massage. I won't go back. I won't recommend. read more
