My flight got delayed, turning a 40 min layover into one of almost 4 hrs. The minute suites saved the trip. Nice little place to relax and get away from the airport environment. There's a daybed, trundle, mirror, desk, and a TV. You can purchase snacks / beverages there or take some in with you. There's a restroom available in the main are; and you are able to come and go from the suite as often as you'd like during your time slot.

Daybed in the Carolina suite. Wimpy pillow. No blanket.

A delayed flight caused me to be stuck in Charlotte for 9 hours so I thought this might be an easy option as opposed to seeking out a hotel outside of the airport. I was able to book online while having lunch which was convenient. I paid $165 for 3.75 hours. I showed up 15 minutes before my reservation and was quickly taken into my "suite". I didn't expect the Ritz Carlton, but this was an underwhelming experience. The room is tiny, which is not a huge deal. There is a hard leather couch, a pillow that's as flat as a pancake, and no blanket. There is a tv with Hulu, Netflix, and CBS available but you have to enter your own personal account info to access those. I entered my CBS account access but the show kept freezing every two minutes. This is better than sitting in the terminal but it's far from tranquil. I could hear everything going on outside of the room loud and clear. As a single woman traveler, it was nice to have a place to go where I felt like I could safely lay my head while I passed the time but it wasn't worth the money. Next time I will seek out a hotel offsite now that I know what the Minute Suites experience has to offer.

We swung by here anxious to use our Priority Pass (a perk of a few Chase credit cards) for the free hour in a room away from the typical airport hustle and bustle. My toddler found the remote, my wife and I found the chargers* and the day bed, and it was a nice retreat. *The electrical outlets in our unit were shot and I'm pretty sure unsafe. I posted a pic but naturally we used other outlets. I think this concept is a pretty good one, and would be great if you have a layover extending beyond a few hours. For us, it's so hard to keep a 2 and a half year old still while watching our luggage, so it was nice to keep her captive in here. They have a light switch dimmer, a blanket, a pillow and a white noise sound with volume control. I could've easily caught a nap in here if I were on my own. All the fun little perks aside, there are some glaring weaknesses here. First off, the cost if you don't do the Priority Pass benefit is $40+ an hour which is only worth it if you can expense it. There are no bathrooms in the space, and any food or drink you purchase costs extra like a minibar in a hotel. It's pretty no frills, and while I enjoyed the novelty of it, I wouldn't seek it out again.

First off. Devonte was very helpful, friendly and professional!! I had never heard of Minute Suites. He took the time to explain the layout and room categories. If you have to layover, this is a great alternative to sleeping in terminal chairs. Our flight landed at midnight. We have a 7 hour layover to catch our connecting flight to Philly and this works! Compared to trying to sleep in terminal chairs. The suites come in a few sizes. Suites for single travelers up to small families. Our room had a daybed and a pullout trundle. We had the Queen City Suite. Every suite here is themed after the Carolina Panthers or a reference to parts of Charlotte. I would suggest visiting the website for more details, as it's too much info to list. (www.minutesuites.com) Once you make your payment, credit card or debit card. I didnt see any other forms of payment (Apple, Google or Samsung) You wait near the front desk, as your selected room is checked to ensure it's ready for you to use. You get a pillow, fresh silk pillow case (the same type that you see on airline pillows) and a clean blanket. Also each room has an electronic access key. The rooms are secure, the same set up as the traditional hotels and motels. Electronic keys are given to the occupants. No one can get into your room, unless it's the staff member on that is on shift. The rooms are sound proofed, climate controlled from inside each room. Flatscreen TV with cable, Alexa, wifi are standard. There are two standard wall outlets to charge your electronics. I didnt see any USB ports in our room. There is a bathroom, but the staff member has to unlock it. This keeps non guests from accessing it. Locations: CLT, PHL, ATL (2) and DFW (2).

Freaking finally, a Priority Pass lounge in CLT to escape the crowded terminals! The rooms are Charlotte/ NC themed. Pro's + They accept Priority Pass membership, so you can get an hour free if you have it. + You get to avoid the crowd in a quite relaxing environment + It's the standard setup, a small desk with plenty of power ports, a small sized tv, temperature control, and a couch that you can lay down on. (**If you are 6 ft. plus your legs will hang off the edge. +Friendly staff + They actually have a restroom that you can use in the facility + they offer a yoga mat, blanket and pillows + they offer, for a fee, water bottles and/or a 5 hour energy drink shot + they have an Alexa in the room if you want to use Con's: - It is currently the only "lounge" that accepts Priority Pass, so expect it to be crowded and a wait during busy travel days - It can get pricey pretty fast if you are on a budget or don't have your company covering the costs. - they have an Alexa if you're worried about privacy - you can hear the opening and closing of doors. They do have a privacy noise control, but it seems like it just a fan that blows. It still beats sitting in the terminals by a long shot - only 6 rooms are available Tips: ~ Located in the central atrium under the stairs, behind the First in ~ If you would like to guarantee yourself a room, I would seriously make a reservation prior to your arrival ~ Queen City is the largest room. It is also considered the family room ~Pricing -----One hour (minimum): $42.00 -----15-minute increments (first two hours) $10.50 -----Two hours $84.00 -----15-minute increments (after two hours) $8.00 -----Overnight flat rate (8 hours) $140.00 -----30-minute shower*: $30.00 -----Shower with suite rental purchase*: $20.00 ----------*Available only at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Terminal D and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport

This location within CLT was a lifesaver! Due to weather delays, my flight was cancelled and I was booked on a flight for almost 13 hours later. I was able to get some decent rest and a nice hot shower. I wasn't expecting this, but if you can plan ahead, I highly recommend packing shower shoes...lol. The staff was great, pod was clean, bathroom was as good as a shared shower can get...hence the recommendation for shower shoes.

I think that's the best thing that you can get with your priority pass!! Hands down better than any restaurant or lounge I have been to. It was about an hour which was perfect before the next flight. Very comfortable and cozy! There were pillows, blanket. I think you could open the couch but I wasn't there for a long time so I didn't need it. There is a TV, mini fridge and snacks to purchase. I think it's just perfect for what anybody needs in between flights

This is convenient for business travel, especially if you can expense it. It's rare to get a private spot in an airport. I used my priority pass to get 1 hour free and did really enjoy getting an hour to myself, especially considering it was free. However, it was very hot in my room and I couldn't get it to cool down even after adjusting the thermostat. They want to charge you for everything including the small selection of snacks in the room. I did like the ability to leave my stuff locked in the room while I ran to the restroom and the use of wifi. All in all, would not recommend considering the price unless you either get it for free with priority pass or can expense it while you're working.

Broken AC it was warm in the tiny room
    Rachelle R.

For Priority pass meme era you get a hour to stay in the suites but you will need to make reservations prior if you'd like one right away or there's a possible long wait even worst no availability. I was given a room at the time I requested and the room was enough space for a small couch you can lay on, tv, sound machine and a working desk. The problem was the AC didn't work. It was 78 degrees in the tiny room so it was warm, they provided a fan but that was still uncomfortable. Then there's this huge stain on the carpet, GROSS! They did not try to compensate with anything just told me that they can't fix it and apparently was broken for a while. Great, wish I would've known before checking me in. For long hauls and a place to rest, I recommend a place like this but for the price and the non working AC no thank you. Just go to the lounges or hang out on the rocking chairs.

    An oasis in the airport!!!

It's a beautiful hotel inside. Very modern interior design and the room I'm staying at is kept very keep and accommodates all my needs, especially a fridge that actually is cold. I've been to so many hotels where the fridge wasn't properly working or was unable to keep my foods cold. Staying on the 5th floor, I had to scan my room key to gain access and there is a security guard posted by the door all night; I'd say security is pretty good here and allows guests to feel safe. The mini mart located near the front desk sells a wide variety of snacks and drinks, including alcohol beverages till 2am. They also provide complimentary breakfast starting 6am and the menu choices were great! My only complain is how small the parking lot is, but there are two spots for Diamond Elite members and a Tesla charging spot. They need to enforce it so non EV vehicles can't park there because I've seen non EVs parked there taking up valuable charging time from EVs. Really enjoying my stay here and definitely would be the hotel of choice if I'm back in the area. If you're a IHG member, definitely should be a must to spend your time here.

My wife and I ended up here unexpectedly after our flight was canceled due to an incoming snowstorm. Since the JW Marriott wasn't open during my last visit to Charlotte, I made a point to stay here during this short, unplanned stop. We arrived late on a Friday night, which didn't leave much time to explore the hotel's amenities, but the stay still left a strong impression--both good and not-so-good. The guest rooms are sleek, modern, and undeniably luxurious, with a sophisticated design that feels appropriate for a newer urban JW property. The glass shower was spacious and attractive, though oddly there was no body wash provided, and the drain was clogged--small details, but noticeable at this level. The mattress, unfortunately, was extremely firm--uncomfortably so for me--and made for a restless night. Because our luggage was still stuck at the airport, we requested several basic toiletries. Despite assurances, they never arrived. On the positive side, room service is available 24 hours, and the food was excellent--fresh, well-prepared, and delivered promptly. The Executive Lounge is also a standout: beautifully designed and offering a strong breakfast spread that made the morning far more enjoyable. Ben at the front desk the next morning deserves special mention. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely responsive in addressing the issues we experienced the night before, which helped restore some confidence in the stay. One lingering question: I don't quite understand why an urban hotel charges a Daily Destination Fee. While the fee can be offset with credits toward room service or dining, it still felt out of place for a downtown business-oriented property. I've stayed at JW Marriotts in several other cities and have consistently found their service to be a strength. That's why I was surprised that service here didn't quite meet those expectations. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-located, but smoother execution and attention to detail would bring the experience in line with the JW standard.

I was asked by Elon Law to teach a night class in Charlotte and they graciously got me a hotel at the Hilton in downtown Charlotte. Sounded great and I was excited... And then I arrived. Let's see.... There was a long line at the reception and it took quite a while till I got to the front of line to be helped. Then I was told that the rooms would not be available for 2 hours even though it was already 2 hours beyond the check-in time. No accommodation for that mishap other than the offer to leave my bags and wander around. This was awful because I had to teach in an hour! Thank God they did find a room that was ready and so I asked where I could park the car and I almost had a heart attack when she told me it was $35 to park my car. Are you freaking kidding me? The room itself was close to $200. Seriously? I don't know why I asked the next question, although I knew what the answer would be as I timidly asked, "Does this include breakfast?" Of course it doesn't. And if you want a piece of toast and a cup of coffee, that's going to cost you close to $20. This place is a freaking rip-off! I greed to pay the damn $35 and was told that if I park on the fourth floor there is a walkway right into the hotel with my room key. So I parked the car where she said and went to the door and kept swiping and swiping and swiping and could not get in. Finally, I called downstairs and they sent somebody up to let me in to only discover that they share the parking lot and access with the Hampton inn. Incredibly confusing. That's why my key did not work. So I had to take all of my stuff back down to the lobby again and find my way to the Hilton elevator. By the time that nightmare was solved, that was the end of my shower and resting and it was time to leave for teaching I came back after teaching quite hungry but I was not about to spend $150 for an M&M peanut that was for sale in the lobby. I went back to my room, had a bottle of water to only discover that they want $2. Do me a favor Hilton inn. Next time just charge us $1,000 for the night and let it include breakfast and parking. Again, I am very appreciative of Elon University putting me up for the night but next time I'm going to see if they can put me in another place. Maybe a place that charges a normal price, is not terribly confusing and actually includes breakfast and parking for the exorbitant fee. There's a second chapter to this review. and It truly proves that good customer service can mean everything! So as I was checking out the following morning, the woman at the registration named Ebony asked me the infamous, "How was your stay?" And my reply was, "Do you want the polite response or the real response?" with which she replied, "The real response, absolutely!" So I began to tell her how my room wasn't ready and I was going to have to wait 2 hours. I told her how the woman at the registration desk did not offer me anything for that delay other than I could leave my bags behind the counter. I told her how they finally found me a room but told me nothing about the Hilton gold honors I was entitled to. I told her how confusing it was in the garage to find the right way to the hotel. I told her how horrified I was about the $35 parking fee. Ebony was so sympathetic to my frustration and determined to give me top customer service, that she did not charge me for the parking and gave me a Hilton Gold perk I was entitled to and got a beautiful breakfast to go. Ebony turned everything around for me. I got a delicious omelet with wheat toast, made a hot cup of coffee, got into my car with a new attitude and traveled back to Greensboro. I still think the hotel charges too much, should not be charging for parking, should be offering a breakfast for that price and should explain how to navigate the parking lot since the dual hotels sharing the same garage. But, they also have Ebony who knows how to treat a customer! Thank you Ebony! And Hilton... Get your act together!!!

Staff is a 12 out of 10. Valet super nice and helpful, check in and front desk staff always efficient and a delight to deal with same for housekeepers or any other staff we met along the way. This is the only hotel I have stayed at in the States that I think their bathroom is about comparable to ours at home. There is a separate space for the commode which offers some nice privacy if 2 are sharing the room. Housekeepers were adorable they placed out toiletries on emerald green cloths on the counter I truly believe the prettiest place in Charlotte to see the sun rise is at the indoor pool and spa area. It is gorgeous. Love that the pool area is more spa pool vibes with spa music. Hot tub is turned on by a button panel on the wall. Inside the hot tub there is a place to turn up or down the intensity of the jets. The hot tub has pretty colors in it from the underwater lighting. There is a great array of seating without feeling crowded. Meticulously cleaned. Like any time of day the indoor pool space was clean. I do like what they use instead of chlorine it was more gentle on my hair and skin. TV is a bit below average. Streaming speed is pretty slow. Limited on which streaming services that can be accessed. Additionally, the volume jumps a lot like the tv can be unable to be heard you turn the volume up and it is good. Then a second later it is super loud. Spouse said most modern tvs have an auto feature that manages this. But this is on Marriott and not the hotel as with some research it showed this is a pretty common issue most folks have about the tvs. We are buying a Roku stick to try and use in the future to access other streaming services we pay for at home. The beds are better than other hotels in the Marriott family but spouse and I still find them a bit uncomfortable. I would like to have them a more memory foam material than the spring with pillow top. Wardrobe was awesome it is a nice size. Lights up when the doors are opened and has a pretty floral scape along the back of it. I was able to keep my carry on sized suitcase in there. Spouse was able to hand my dress and his sports coat and pants for event we were going to. Room had plenty of counter space in the room and bathroom. This was great. Oddly there seemed to be drums that started playing outside at like 9am on Saturday that woke us both up. There was a wedding going on that weekend and I know they had some breakfasts not sure if there was maybe a morning ceremony too? Noise didn't last super long but woke us both up. The windows you can hear a fair amount of noise through from the street. Ordered room service I think 3 times. Very excellent experience each and every time. Each item was cooked perfectly and things like grilled chicken breast were still juicy and not overcooked. My K Lounge review will be separate from hotel but same 5/5. We enjoyed our stay. The valet immediately made me feel welcomed even though I was completely flustered with my items all over the place. The room was nice with a great view of the city from the window. It came with a fully stocked fridge and full bar but I would have preferred a regular microwave and mini fridge for me to use for my own items. They did supply bottles or cartons of water and the bell hoppers were top notch coming and going. I like how the toilet area was separate from the bathroom space. Unfortunately the linen has that usual industrial smell which is why I travel with my own comfort as you can see from the pic. One annoying thing was the length of time it took for the water to get hot. If you don't have cash to tip, they provide a QR code in the room to tip those that helped you during your stay. The turn down service came with chocolate, the weather forecast, and a bookmark, as I had a book on the nightstand . Overall a great stay.

You seriously can't get any closer, it's right next door, which made the whole trip super convenient. As a Hyatt member I try to stick with the brand, so it was clutch that there's a Hyatt property located right in the heart of downtown. My experience was great from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly and had no problem accommodating my early check-in. The room itself exceeded expectations--booked a studio and ended up with a surprisingly spacious setup: separate living area, big comfy bed, huge bathroom, plus a full fridge and kitchen. Didn't necessarily need the kitchen for this trip, but it'd be perfect for longer stays. Price-wise, I paid around $150 a night during a holiday week, which felt like a steal for the location and quality. Honestly, I don't know that you could do much better downtown. Zero complaints Hyatt House delivered exactly what I needed and more. If I'm ever back in town I'm 100% staying here again.

For all the busyness of Uptown Charlotte the Embassy felt just slightly removed. Removed enough that the valet would just leave my car on the street when they brought it around and that was fine. The driveway is relatively small and stayed busy. The lobby and check-in area feels kind of tight but then the restaurant and breakfast area has tall walls of windows and is very airy. The Front Desk agent checked me in quickly and I was on my way. I was on the 10th floor in a king studio room that faced the NASCAR Hall of Fame. I liked the orientation of the room with the bed directly facing the windows and the Uptown views. The bathroom was spacious. All of the furnishings were comfortable, the room was clean, and everything operated as it should. Despite it not being a true 2-room suite, I had plenty of space. Breakfast was easy as I made my way through. However, as I was cleaning up there was a LONG line to get through the hot line. I recommend not waiting until the last minute to get breakfast or you may encounter something similar. I'd loved being able to walk around Uptown and really appreciated this location. I'd definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed my sleep here. The bed was super comfy and the air-conditioning worked great! They also have a little mini market downstairs if you need snacks or drinks

I'm truly conflicted about this review…read more.. I spent the weekend at the Charlotte Courtyard for pleasure, and there are some things they did great, and some things that definitely feel short. On the side of awesomeness: Their location is incredible!!! Seriously, you'll be hard pressed to get a better location in Downtown Charlotte. Situated right in the center of Uptown, they are close to myriad bars and restaurants, nightlife, and activities. Close enough to everything to be walkable, just far enough away to avoid the weekend bar insanity. Also, the staff was incredible!! Everyone I interacted with was kind, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure my needs and wants were met. Last thing, the price was great!! Okay, the shortfalls: the rooms! While the beds and pillows were comfortable, the decor is about 20 years in need of renovation. Definitely circa 2002. Dark, dark walls made the room feel like a cave. And the ancient Motel 6 window air conditioning unit was so loud, I couldn't run it at night because it woke me up every time it kicked on. Also, they do have a lively rooftop pool. I heated. And it's in between two four-story wings of the hotel, so it gets minimal sun. And even on the hottest days (I was there in early Sept), the pool was an icy 50 deg. So again, I'm torn. Would I stay there again? Maybe. But at least I'd know what I'm in for. And now...so do you. And knowing is half the battle.

So I decided to give Courtyard a shot and it wasn't the best experience. Bottom line, if you're in…read moreneed of some rest and relaxation, I HIGHLY suggest choose a different hotel. First, the positives. It's located in the heart of uptown, which makes walking anywhere quick and simple. There is a public parking garage accessible from the hotel. The room is large enough for 2 people and the water pressure is top tier. Unfortunately, a fire alarm woke us up one morning. Emergency vehicles were arriving so we thought it was pretty serious. The fire alarm message directed us to use the stairs to exit and this became confusing. We followed an emergency exit sign which led us to a corner of confusion. One sign pointed in the direction we were heading and the other pointed in the direction we just came from (see picture). We decided to keep heading down our initial path, and the couple behind us decided to backtrack. Our path led us down a stairwell to a door that stated "not an exit" but also said "emergency exit" on the handle. We went through the door, which placed us on the 10th floor of the parking garage. From there, we had to find yet another way out... Ultimately, we all made it out, with no explanation of the cause. If this was a real emergency, there may have been some serious consequences. I hope they can add some clarity to their emergency exit signage during their remodel. More negatives. We stayed in room 314, and there was no headboard. There were only some weird, foam pieces with pillow cases. You can feel the springs in the bed, as it is VERY firm. If you're a side sleeper like me, this will hurt your back! I didn't know popcorn ceilings were still a thing, but there was some questionable fluid on it. And the bathroom seemed clean, until you looked at all of the hair that was left in many areas. Lastly, you can hear all of the grinding, drilling, and pounding from construction and every conversation in the hallway. If you choose to stay here, good luck
