Rather than investigating what was clearly a potentially serious infection, the PA performed no medical testing and repeatedly told me to go home and use a warm compress. When I tried to advocate for myself and express concern about my symptoms, the PA became dismissive and said, "I have already spent too much time with you. I have other patients and I have already told you to go home and put a warm compress on it. This appointment is over." He then walked out of the room. Days later, I was seen by an actual healthcare professional who immediately ordered blood tests which showed I had a serious bacterial infection requiring antibiotics. The lack of professionalism, compassion, and basic medical judgment I encountered was shocking. Patients come to urgent care because they are concerned about their health and need medical evaluation, not because they want to be laughed at, brushed aside, and sent home without appropriate care. Based on my experience, this clinic failed me when I needed help the most.

I had a great experience here from start to finish. Woke up feeling ill on Thanksgiving weekend…read moreand needed to get a rapid COVID test to eliminate that possibility, since I was staying with someone immunocompromised and I was about to hop on a train back to NYC later that afternoon. This is seemingly one of, if not the only, places in the area that accept walk-in patients for COVID testing. Every other place required an appointment and couldn't take me until Mon or Tues of the following week. I called and the person on the phone was kind and told me that they were busy, but they would start taking patients again at 1:30pm and that I needed to be in the parking lot in order to be added to the queue. I arrived at 1:28 and called and sure enough they added me to the queue after I gave them some info over the phone. They quoted me 1-1.5 hr wait time, but they called me inside after about 30 minutes. The staff inside was very kind. I especially liked the nurse I saw whose upbeat demeanor made my experience that much better (I wish I remembered her name - tall, thin, brunette working Saturday 11/27). The NP was also kind and upbeat and explained to me that I did not have COVID (phew) and that I was just dehydrated and gave me some recommendations on what to do bounce back. The administrative process was seamless as well. The front desk employee handed me my paperwork on the way out and I was on my way. Overall, this is seemingly one of the best options in the area for walk-in urgent care. If I was unable to get a rapid test that day, I would have had to rearrange several aspects of my travel plans. I was very grateful to find this place, as they saved me from what could have been a potentially catastrophic situation.

Nothing worked, so I got an order for therapy. Being in a lot of pain, a few days later, before Physical Therapy started, I went to Convenient Care for an XRay. 36 years ago I broke my hip, and of course had surgery. The day after I had the XRay, I received a frantic call from my primary care doctor's office telling me that the XRay indicated that I had broken or fractured my hip again, and an ambulance would come get me. I said that if I broke my hip, I couldn't be walking on it, or going up and down stairs. She said that due to the angle of the "break" I could be this mobile. She also informed me that a blood clot could form and go to my heart, lungs, or brain and kill me. I told her that I was scheduled to start physical therapy that day. She strongly advised me against it and said GO TO THE HOSPITAL! So from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M I laid on a gurney, which just exasperated my injury more. I had a M. R. I. and at about 6:00 P.M. a doctor approached me and said that I could go home. My hip was NOT broken. What was being seen were old healed scar seams from 36 years ago. So the lack of ability to read my XRay correctly by a Convenient Care radiologist cost me a day in the hospital, and a delay in starting Physical Therapy.

I have BCBS of Florida- PUC kept billing BCBS of Massachusetts, and kept sending me bills because (they said) my insurance didn't cover it. Only PUC is in network with BCBS of Massachusetts, and PUC is in network with BCBS of Florida, and BCBS of Florida covers me nationwide. I verified this with representatives from BCBS, and verified that I was covered at PUC. I paid PUC the amount BCBS said I owed, and then ask PCU to refill with Florida. They filed again with Massachusetts, and billed me again. I wrote again and asked PUC to file with Florida. They filed again with Massachusetts, and billed me again. I call PUC - they are based in Utah. On the phone, PUC Utah said they would refile with BCBS Florida. But they filed again with Massachusetts and sent me another bill. After 4 bills and a threat to send the bill to a collection agency, I am paying the amount that should be covered by my insurance. Just a warning before you accept any medical treatment from this group, make sure you're willing to pay for yourself - because insurance is not honored if their billing department has to do something super-complicated like find the address for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida and change the paperwork that's already in the computer to resend it there.

I came here after a frustrating experience at another walk-in chain, where I arrived close to…read moreclosing because I genuinely needed care after already dealing with a long wait elsewhere. Despite their posted hours showing that they were still open, I felt like the physician there spent more effort trying to convince me to go to the ER than evaluating or treating me. It felt like getting out the door on a Friday night was taking priority over patient care. What bothered me even more was the lack of consideration for what that recommendation actually means to a patient. Sending someone to the ER instead of providing appropriate urgent-care treatment can mean a dramatically higher bill, a much longer wait, and unnecessary use of emergency resources. That financial and practical impact should matter when making a recommendation, especially when a patient has specifically sought out urgent care for a reason. My experience at A Walk-In Medical Center was the complete opposite. Dr. Calle was kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and thorough. What impressed me even more was that he remembered me from a visit years ago. I never felt rushed or like I was an inconvenience. I felt listened to and cared for. There is a noticeable difference between healthcare that feels driven by corporate KPIs and healthcare where the people still treat medicine as a responsibility to the patient. This office still feels like the latter. I'm very grateful to Dr. Calle and the staff for taking care of me when I needed it.

The doctor sprayed menthol in my son's eye and acted annoyed and impatient when of course he started crying and lost trust in him. He had no patience towards my son, all but ignored me, and talked to my son like he was an adult scaring him about worst case scenarios and his summer being ruined. After consulting three other medical professionals the day after my visit, all three said while he didn't give dangerous advice it's clear the doctor does not have experience with children, and advised old and out dated medical techniques to treat my sons wound. This was my first and will certainly be my last visit to this place. Don't bring your kids here.
