The place was very clean, everyone was very pleasant and I felt a sense of trust and peace, which is very important when dealing with any healing you undertake. When I tell you my first session with Jennifer and her assistant felt like an energy block was literally pulled away from my body. I was overcome with emotion and could literally feel the energy moving from head to toe. I went home that day and felt drained, but knew I had to finish my treatment. The second and third treatments helped solidify my feelings, and I felt more aware of my own self and re-aligned. If you are familiar with holistic healing, or curious, I urge you to make an appointment and see for yourself. I've had issues with the proper insurance being billed. I wanted to make sure everything was correct in their system. She loudly said to me that she could see on my insurance card that it says HMO while I was holding it. In an attempt to explain that it took me two months to get re-approved through Medicaid of which I've had now for three years and I had been improperly billed. Yet still, she continued rolling her eyes. Trying to explain to her that I have the dual advantage which is Medicaid/Medicare both. Once again rolling her eyes at me, letting out her irritated sigh, and looking over at the other receptionist, more than once. Arguing with me that I was on a sliding scale and owed $20. This is to be taken care of through Medicaid now that I've been re-approved. Then telling me that I was going to get an exorbitant bill from this visit. I told her I was done and I went and sat down. A few minutes later, she called me back up and the argumentative thing ended up causing me to start crying and I was unable to stop crying. In fact, I was wailing. I had called the day before, I was told I needed a referral and that was the reason I was there. This is the most difficult time in my life, and all I received was despicable behavior from this ugly person. She had a huge chip on her shoulder and an attitude of a clueless idiot. I did call her an idiot as I was sobbing my heart out. When I was finally called in to see the doctor, she took my card and she left the room. She then came back and told me that it was in the system for both Medicaid and Medicare. The damage was done from that individual. I still was unable to compose myself and continued sobbing. Why is it that the doctor had to do the job of that pure evil creature at the front counter? To add to my misery, she seemed to contradict everything when I brought her behavior to her attention. This person should never be allowed to work with the public. I've been going to North Shore for years. I will now have to go elsewhere or at least never step foot into Lake Station ever again.

I tried to take a relative there on Saturday. It was closed. In fact, this "urgent care" location is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Apparently "urgent" only applies during regular business hours. I tried taking the same relative to this location on Tuesday at 12:30pm. Middle of a week day. No holiday. On Tuesday afternoon, there are no medical staff present. Zero. Zip. None. Nobody. Not because it was lunchtime, and somebody had stepped out for a sandwich. Oh, no. The office was not staffed with any medical professional - not an m.d., not a nurse, not an EMT, not a paramedic, not a CNA. The only employee present was a medical billings person acting as a receptionist. He was very nice and apologetic, and he called another location to see if a medical professional could come over, since an actual sick person had entered the building. I telephoned this company's Merrillville location, and was told Merrillville had two physicians on duty, and that there was about an hour-long wait at that time. I said thank you to the billing person, and I made a couple phone calls and found a real live doctor's office that would see my family member. So, citizens of Hobart, you have an "urgent care" facility that maintains regular office hours only. Which really doesn't matter, because you can't get medical care there anyway. I cannot make this stuff up.
