I was a little frustrated about some confusion with my insurance but once the receptionist got that figured out the rest of the experience was great. I didn't wait too long and felt comfortable and cared about while there. What reminded me of this place and how I should have done a review is that my boyfriend came here today (on a Sunday) for a foot laceration, and also had a good experience and was pleased with the care he received. If I ever need to see someone on a weekend or holiday again when my pcp is closed, I'd come here for sure!

I have had to visit this location twice since moving to Vernon and I have received beyond excellent care both times. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen here. The waiting room is comfortable and CLEAN! Staff are genuinely kind, compassionate, and down to earth-- getting help this morning felt as easy as knocking on my neighbor's door, having a painless chat, and being on my way with what I needed (which is something SO important for people with anxiety!!). It was obvious the PA actually cared about getting to the root of my issue and wanted to help me find a long-term solution, rather than simply treat my symptoms and send me on my way. I walked into AFC this morning feeling ill and frustrated. By the time I left, I had the prescription I needed and the medical support/follow-up that lifted my hopes and reminded me that there are medical professionals that truly care! Thank you, fantastic AFC staff!!!

Rather than investigating what was clearly a potentially serious infection, the PA performed no medical testing and repeatedly told me to go home and use a warm compress. When I tried to advocate for myself and express concern about my symptoms, the PA became dismissive and said, "I have already spent too much time with you. I have other patients and I have already told you to go home and put a warm compress on it. This appointment is over." He then walked out of the room. Days later, I was seen by an actual healthcare professional who immediately ordered blood tests which showed I had a serious bacterial infection requiring antibiotics. The lack of professionalism, compassion, and basic medical judgment I encountered was shocking. Patients come to urgent care because they are concerned about their health and need medical evaluation, not because they want to be laughed at, brushed aside, and sent home without appropriate care. Based on my experience, this clinic failed me when I needed help the most.

The front desk staff was pleasant and I didn't have to wait long, probably the only positives of going here. I was taken back to a room and shortly after a female PA came in. She literally looked me in the face and said "I'm not sure what you came here expecting" as if I had hobbled into my dentists office and told them I'd hurt my knee. She didn't touch my knee once or do any sort of exam, just had one of the nurses take me for an x-ray (which showed nothing). Then when she returned with the results she said "you may have injured your meniscus." Again, this was done without doing any sort of exam whatsoever. She then told me she'd wrap it in an ace bandage and told me to try going to an orthopedist. The two minutes she took to wrap my knee was the extent of her coming within 5 feet of me! Wrapping my knee in an ace bandage was probably the worst thing for me because it only made the pain worse! I would have been better off taking my $75 co-pay and lighting it on fire instead of wasting my time here.

I waited more than two hours to see a doctor even though there were only two people ahead of me. My appointment itself took about three minutes. I really only needed to get a bad cold/cough checked out to make sure it wasn't turning into bronchitis (it's not, luckily) so it felt silly to wait so long for such a comparably minor ailment. Otherwise, it's fine and takes my insurance. This is my second visit and the only one that had such a ridiculously long wait time. Just wish staff were more communicative about how long it takes to see a doctor.

In hindsight, there is a reason this clinic had so much availability. I went in with my 7 year old son who was admittedly in worse shape than he was when he was dropped off to school. The LPN looked at his pulse ox, his heart rate and took his temperature. He quickly called in the RN, Erika who immediately said she was going to call an ambulance. I burst into tears and while trying to process what I'm being told.. this NURSE is standing over me making judgmental and cold comments. Questioning why he was sent to school and saying he should not have been. Not once did she console me or him in any way. I felt so scared and alone and to top it off... judged and humiliated by her behavior. Fast forward two weeks and I receive a bill for $139 for absolutely no services administered. Thank god for the emt's, two very young very kind women, who administered treatment to my son and made us both feel relief. I will literally never go back to this clinic. I really thought CVS was better than this.

Front desk started socializing on irrelevant matters to some man who walked in. Laughing and joking about vacations. Unprofessional behavior. Still coughed like crazy. No sympathy. At least 15-20 minutes passed. Finally, got in the waiting room. Good check-up though, but later found out that there were about 2 other things I had on top of a fever. Paid out of pocket. Forgot my insurance card. Later came back a different day, brought my card back in, tried to get it----wasted several hours of precious time. Contacted my insurance and they had a 20 minute conversation with the people at the front desk. Still haven't gotten my reimbursement. They gave a relative of mine a VERY hard time as well, and he was helping out an elderly person. My aging relative had to go back and forth, repeatedly, just to accommodate a person that was sick. They need to step up their service standards. BIG TIME. Not fair. If sick people are coming to you, you got to do your very best to take care of them as best as possible and not look out for profits. Very simple. People are suffering right now in the economy. Is it really that hard simply to give a person a reimbursement after they got their insurance? Is it really necessary to gossip in the front desk when people in front of you are suffering?
