The problem comes from their billing department. We have a full insurance for urgent care with a small copay and came here a few times without any issue. However after my wife's last visit in November we received a pretty hefty bill for the visit. According to our insurance there is a simple coding issue on the bill and the billing department needs to update it. After months of back and forth the billing department just recently told us that they can't change the billing code and that only the provider can. We came back physically to the GoHealth to try and get some help. That's where the person at the front desk was going her best to get us to speak with someone. We got a quick phone call from the person in charge who assured us the matter was going to get escalated to upper management and that we will get a feedback really soon. It has been 2 weeks and it's proven impossible to get a feedback by email, phone, or contact form. Today I got a letter from their billing department saying that late fees and debt recollection will apply. Again the one star isn't here for the quality of services but for the hassle and complete lack of assistance trying to get a simple code updated so that Northwell Health can get paid by our insurance.

This hospital is yet another scam in the American healthcare system. I gave birth here in May and…read morenot only did they not have a room available (they only have 4??), after an hour of my being there they then claimed one was being cleaned for me and would be ready an hour from then. I labored in triage which is a bathroom-less room and an hour later gave birth by pooping all over my child's face, right after they told me the proper room was still not ready. They charged me about $3k for the fancy labor & delivery room. Once in recovery, I asked for my child to be bathed-the nurses refused. She was literally covered in crap. Once night hit -and I'm epileptic and had been awake over 40hrs-I asked that my child be taken to the nursery. I was told "we don't have a nursery" funny, website says you do? And so does my child's bill. So now I'm paying another $3k for a service that I didn't get the advantage of using and supposedly didn't exist. I have spent hours on the phone with their billing department, being passed around time after time and told no charges would be changing. I would only ever return if I had literally no other options.

To add, when I had a torn meniscus surgery in late June, it was done at the Ambulatory Surgery Center feet away- on 226 Westchester Ave. The 222 Westchester location sits on I-287 with easy-access arrows from a distance leading you to their parking lot. Really do pay attention to the arrows- because they will lead you to the left side- not the right. Plus if you're seeing any of the orthopedics at 222, their main entrance is in the back. Since my initial January visit to now- for my wellness follow-ups after my surgery- I've never felt out of sorts. The waiting area gives you a nice first impression with contemporary neutral-colored walls, a pleasant ambiance, functionality and an easy flow. Chairs are sturdy- but comfortable and lighting has a nice glow. The 222 location works for me- as well as the others I've visited. Im extremely happy with my orthopedist. He's answered all my questions and is highly caring about how I've been healing.
