When they were private, I could not speak more highly of First care…read more since they were taken over by this larger conglomerate, the care is completely unacceptable. I used to be able to speak to my doctor or leave a message for them easily and quickly just about anytime now to save a few bucks on their bottom line they use a foreign call center to handle all their calls. I spent quite literally several HOURS of my time this AM trying to make an appointment (my doctor Kimh was not able to schedule online) and get a fairly URGENT message to my doctor I would call, sit on hold for 20-30 minutes, get routed around by their call center, and eventually get disconnected or hung up on. This has repeated 3-4 times this morning alone and is NOT the first time. In fact, since they were taken over this has been my experience EVERY time the staff simply do not care about your time or how critical your message to the doctor might be, and there is no place for me to escalate etc. My wife has eventually driven all the way to the physical clinic before, which is 45mins+ from our home, and got there BEFORE I was able to get a call through. It's unacceptable, it's not good for the patients, and I'm disgusted that it keeps repeating with no changes + complaints fall on deaf ears despite all the above, Dr Hannah Kimh is an absolute blessing. If not for this administrative nonsense we would absolutely continue to get care from her. I cannot speak more highly about Dr Kimh herself From an absolutely disgusted long-term patient who has had their time disrespected ten times too many by first care. egregious doesn't begin to describe their patient support + "front desk" (overseas call center)

I have been to the Hickory Minute Clinic a few times for shots, and have had some good experiences…read morewith the NPs. However, after my visit in January, I will never go back to this or any Minute Clinic. I went with some sort of respiratory illness with wheezing, extended coughing/choking sessions (like 20 minutes non-stop), and feeling weak/tired. I explained all of this to the NP (who I had never seen there before), and she basically listened to my lungs, and took my temp and blood oxygen levels, and did not test for Covid, RSV, or flu. She diagnosed me as basically fine and gave me a prescription for Tessalon pearls and sent me on my way. I had to turn around and go to another local urgent care the next day, where the PA was very concerned about me. She did all of the basics plus tests and took a chest X-ray and was able to diagnose what I had. (The chest X-ray also showed that I had an elevated diaphragm from all of the coughing.) I had to go on steroids, antibiotics, and prescription cough medicine and decongestant. CVS Minute Clinic charged me $649 for a completely useless visit, while the other urgent care charged under $280 (including the chest X-ray). Removing the cost of the X-ray, CVS Minute charged me more than three times what the other (good, useful) urgent care charged me for the basic visit. I'm not sure what happened to the CVS Minute Clinics, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless you want to pay a fortune for a useless visit.
