There is no point in making an appointment. I waited from 11am to 530pm after making an…read more"appointment". The woman at the front desk was going on and on about how much she hates her job. Loudly. Multiple people were looking at her and one lady left, shaking her head. Now, those things are frustrating, but I would deal with that over again if I never had to meet Russell Vanderlinden. NP Russell Vanderlinden is HORRIBLE. He came into the room, before asking me any questions whatsoever, and IMMEDIATELY started criticizing me for having my fallopian tubes removed, when he had no idea WHY I had to have it done. He asked me why I would want to remove a 'perfectly good part of my body' (hey jerk, it WASN'T a perfectly good part of my body, and it HAD to be done). This had absolutely nothing to do with why I was there. He did not ask my medical history. He did not ask my current medications. When I told him why I was there, he said, "well, unfortunately, I can't send everyone like you to the hospital." I had not even mentioned anything hospital-worthy, and I never found out what he meant by "everyone like you". He also claimed my complaints were "odd shit", and he got extremely uninterested. Next, he came back to the room 30-45 minutes later and asked, "ADHD or autism?" I asked him to clarify, and he said I must have "something like that wrong with me" and asked me which one I have. Lastly, he didn't know what was wrong, so he prescribed me a steroid prescription and muttered something about "odd shit" again. By the end of this visit I felt extremely unheard, disrespected for choices I made (and HAD to make) with my own body, and overall frustrated. People like this man are why so many people, especially women, are ignored and treated poorly in medical situations. I will NEVER go here again, and I hope Russell eventually gets his license taken away. He is a garbage human being, and I hope someone treats him the way he treats his patients.

If I could pinpoint a time in my life when my views of healthcare in Kansas City were changed, it…read morewould be tonight's experience. No one wants to go to urgent care, but let's be honest, sometimes you need to AND sometimes if you work during the day and the copay is the same, it's the best option. I didn't want to go to urgent care, but I knew I had to, so I sucked it up and saying I was pleasantly surprised would be the understatement of the year. I was floored with the quality of care, speed of service and total patient experience I received. I work in healthcare IT, so I'm familiar with how healthcare, in a Dream world, should be. Yet I never expected to actually experience it. From the time I walked in the door and was immediately triaged and taken back to a room where I was met with both the MA and the nurse, Princess, working on me simultaneously. I didn't even have time to grab my phone to read a text because they were so quick. Not in a negative, let's get her in and get her out way, but in an "I care that you're sick and in pain and you're important" way. A way I've never experienced. In fact, knowing I was dealing with a terrible sinus headache, Princess not only dimmed the lights out of respect (omg amazing!) she BROUGHT ME A BOTTLE OF WATER AS I WAITED ALL OF TWO SECONDS FOR SARAH, the Nurse Practitioner. I felt like this was all too good to be true. Then Sarah came along and changed my life. Hands down, she is the best provider I've ever had in my life. She cared more about me, in like 2 minutes of knowing me, than my PCP has in years of knowing me. She didn't want to just bandaid the issue. She went above and beyond to help a course of treatment to help me be proactive for my sinus issues, not reactive. Honestly, Sarah is the most real provider I've ever had. She respected my thoughts, along with her own, and included me in decision making and gave me the autonomy, not just a script. She knows her stuff, and treated me like I was a family member. The worst part of the whole visit was that Sarah can only be seen in urgent care. I've never felt this good when being sick. Going to the doctor is something you dread. This was polar opposite. I almost hate to share this review, because I don't want the whole town keeping me from this experience again, but I am beyond wowed. I was treated like a human, not a paycheck. 14/10 would be the score I give this place AND the providers and care team. Best experience I've ever had in healthcare.

The first time it was because I was having trouble breathing and he gave me amoxicillin. I was under the impression he had sent a steroid along with it. No, he was calling amoxicillin a steroid. That is an antibiotic. So with this most recent visit i was concerned he wouldn't find the issue. He noted there was a sign of infection when I came in on a Saturday but said he wouldn't prescribe anything until results came in on Monday. They didn't come in until i was on my way to the emergency room on Tuesday afternoon. My results from the ER was a kidney infection caused by a UTI being left untreated. Every-time I have given a sample at this location. It is contaminated and the results came back the same. This tells me that contamination is happening at the location or in route to testing. They are the ONLY ones that keep getting contaminated samples.

I have to make another office visit with my primary care.. 3rd office visit. I understand not wanting to hand out antibiotics. I'm not sure how much $$ you have to spend anymore to get help, but this is definitely not the place to get help.
