What happened was is she claimed that she couldn't look up the active insurance we have for my grand daughter via her social security number which is exactly how we got checked in last time because her insurance card needs to be replaced. I'm also a medical assistant, so I know there's multiple ways a person insurance can be searched up, but she was too busy on her phone to care about doing her job, instead she proceeds to just act as if nothing could be done mind you it's the dead of winter cold and flu season amongst other things going around so it's just disgusting how careless people act especially working in the medical field. I commend staff who were present and very empathetic from our first visit because today my grand daughter wasn't able to get seen and is very sick. You want to be treated with dignity and respect, with compassion care and empathy go across the way to Dignity or to a whole different Urgent Care because here is not it. Funny thing is they weren't even busy by the time things were all said and done.

I was very clear that I have gi issues and systemic antibiotics are not good for me but she insisted it was my only option. 5 days later my infection spread to the other ear and was so painful I came back and was told to go to ER. Where they prescribed me to drops for swimmers ear which I knew I had in the first place. Last week was my second ER visit, where I tested positive for c-diff from the antibiotics I told her I could not take. I am now over 2 thousand dollars into this plus lost wages as I am an entrepreneur. Please please please doctors- listen to your patients.

I filled out the paperwork online, noting our pharmacy with cross streets. My other son had been at the same urgent care on Sunday, Dec. 21. After he stated the correct pharmacy, they sent his prescriptions to another pharmacy, so I had been forewarned. While still in the office, I told them my son's experience and asked if they noted the correct pharmacy, Walgreens. The medical assistant said she would double-check. She brought their paperwork in, and I quickly read it, noting the pharmacy was CVS. I couldn't believe my eyes. Really? It's in the online paperwork for all three sons, I told them, and they put CVS? They said they would correct this immediately but they didn't. My husband showed up to Walgreens, where they refused to fill it because the prescriptions had been sent to a CVS. Naturally, our insurance won't cover it. Both pharmacies are currently closed for lunch, so we are unsure how to proceed. Another troubling note--there was no medical history taken at this Urgent Care. One of my sons is an epileptic and is on many anti-convulsants. Not that they knew this.

This is not a review of those two practices, but rather this review is relative to the 7th Avenue Famiy Practice at the same location. All 3 are within the MMIC health care systems. I have been a patient at this practice for several years, my doc there is Dr Smarik and I have also been treated by Jenna Snyder the Nurse Practitioner. I have had really good care through this office and i feel that Dr. Smarik is an excellent physician and i trust her judgement. And the rest of the providers here are all just as good. This office operates like a well oiled machine right down to the front office staff who greet you and make appointments. The right hand always seems to be coordinating with the left, which is a comfort. Also they are very good about same and next day appointments when you are sick and they send your prescriptions electronically to your pharmacy which saves you even more time and effort. Overall I would highly recommend the 7th Avenue Family Health Practice if you are looking for quality Primary Care. My experience has been very good here.

I was denied insurance through my boyfriend's company because they don't recognize domestic partners the day after I had impaled my thumb on a palm frond. Unsure if I had insurance I decided to go to the county urgent care. They charged a $50 deposit and will be sending the bill within a month. When they gave me a two hour ETA for the wait time I ran over and had some lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. Upon my return, I had about another 30 minutes or so but they really did keep it to that two hour window. Once in the back under doctors care he carefully explored inside my thumb to make sure that there was no foreign debris still in there. Once he was done the nurse came and slapped a Band-Aid on it and I was out the door. Thank you to the doctors and staff at county urgent care!

I'm most disappointed by the incredibly long wait times and lack of available appointments. Every time I show up for an appointment, either early or right on time, I expect to spend a half hour in the lobby (past my scheduled time), and then an additional 30 minutes in the actual office I'm taken to. Appointments are never, ever avaiable the same week. Not even for issues like UTIs, or known illnesses that just need a quick dose of antibiotics. I got a rare day off work to take care of doctor appointments and was extremely disappointed to find out that the soonest appointment available was 3 weeks from today. The receptionist also asked if I had a preferred Dr. Surprised, I requested the Dr. I had seen last time because I was satisfied with her care. HA! She is booked until July. I just don't understand the breakdown of how this place operates. I imagine it's because of people like me who have nowhere else close to go, have weird insurance, or can't afford the Laveen Country Doctor. I wish I didn't have to go here.

This is definitely a management/corporate issue that needs addressed.

I have never heard of a business model that tell you to go to the competition.
