I visited this location today with a large tour group. Several people saw me walk into the…read morerestroom. While I was still using it, I realized someone was entering the code to open my restroom door. They did not knock or give me any warning. I frantically tried to pull up my pants while also struggling to hold in my urine, but the door opened before I had time to process what was happening. Because I was startled and rushing, I also ended up with stains on my white pants. After I finished putting my pants on, I looked out of the restroom and saw a group of about seven people, including workers, quickly walking away and laughing. I was extremely embarrassed and in shock, which made it difficult for me to remember their faces. No one involved waited outside the restroom, tried to find me afterward, apologized, or took responsibility. When I explained what happened to another employee, she apologized on their behalf but said she did not know who did it. I appreciated her apology, but the situation left me feeling exposed, humiliated, and unsafe. I left without purchasing anything because I could no longer enjoy the experience.

She told me they don't usually accept clothes in plastic bags and to next time place them in something else. I felt so uncomfortable and like I was being chastised. A lot of manufacturers capitalize off a products name but at African Art & Design Gallery they source authentic products. The store has a plethora of items to chose from: African garb, hair & skin oils, lotions, soaps, jewelry, art, inscense etc. In the front of the store they have a section where they sale item made by small business owners. I love checking out that section because I like putting my friends on to new things and spreading the love by supporting new/small business owners.
