I specified that I wanted my husbands viewing clothes back together with jewelry. When I came to pick up my husbands ashes, they informed he had been cremated with his clothes. Siri says this was a miscommunication between her and I However, this was a mistake on her end, because she took some notes on her cell phone which made me think she was specifying to her staff she then stated if it was a miscommunication between her and the cremator. Again, because she did not specify. This is so sad. How I'm multiple times communicated to her what I wanted. She offered to reimburse $100 . she should have done her part and been more specific for her staff. I am truly disappointed and I am truly sad. I picked the specific clothing because it had sentimental value.

We were given an estimated time of arrival of "within the hour." When that time came and passed I called and was given the same estimated time of "within the hour." When I was on my third hour of waiting with our loved one still on the floor where we had tried CPR, and the kind sheriff, patiently waiting, I began to call other funeral homes. I left a message at 2 others then on my third try I contacted "A Serenity Funeral & Cremation Services" and Daniel answered the phone. Despite having a busy morning right from the get-go he was kind, compassionate and forthright. He let me know he was having a busy morning and would do his very best to get there within the hour. He arrived within 30 minutes along with another gentleman. The compassion, tenderness and grace that they showed our loved one and to us, who we're newly grieving was an answered prayer. They reverently allowed us our final goodbyes and had no problem when I wanted to include a special blanket to wrap our loved one in. Daniel sat with us, answered questions and patiently walked us through the process. The kindness and care that Serenity Funeral and cremation services showed us should be a model for the industry. When we finished all the paperwork we realized that "A Serenity" was actually a fraction of the price of what we were going to pay with the locally touted company that continually told me it would be "within the hour." We were assured that her father's ashes would be available in Bell Garden on Thursday she drove close to 3 hours to pick them up. When my wife made the painful drive to pick them up, they were not there. We ended up having to collect the ashes only two hours before the funeral. To make matters worse, the urn we purchased--a golden urn to properly honor her father--was not provided. Instead, without a word of explanation, they handed us his ashes in a plastic box. This left my wife with no choice but to present her father in front of family and friends in a cheap plastic container. People were taking photos of the urn, and it was a humiliating, heartbreaking moment. On top of the grief of losing her only surviving parent, she had to experience this indignity. We even drove around desperately searching for an urn before the service, but it was impossible to find one on the same day. No family should ever be put through this kind of negligence--especially not on the day of a funeral. We placed our trust in this company to handle something sacred, and they failed us in the worst way imaginable. This experience was beyond disappointing--it was cruel.
