I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Sonia truly is the best in her game. from the point of the first conversation to the point that we laid my mom to rest, the entire process was very smooth. any request made, she was sure to fulfill in her ability, whatever way it was, but she always tried to find a way to fit the need of our request. Her and her staff did a wonderful job and took care of my mom. The embalming looked amazing. It truly did look like my mom. Her communication skills were five star. Very responsive always answered the phone or responded by text. If she didn't answer, I would likely get a call within 30 minutes. Very accommodating. At one point I had to deliver my mom's clothing and I live two hours away. I met her at 10 PM to deliver my mom's clothing for the funeral. She accommodated. Not many businesses will. She goes above and beyond and during these time of need. the less you have in mind, the better. She took care of everything and never did I have questions about her professionalism or ability to care for my mom's body and event. One recommendation would be to try to get the garden in Rosemead. We held her service outdoors and the service was beautiful. It is exactly how my mom would've wanted it. Thank you to the team for making my mom's service as beautiful as it could've been . Where do I begin. My brother's service was last week and it was as beautiful as a funeral can be. First of all, I need to thank Sonia from the bottom of my heart , for her empathy, her responsiveness, for her assistance in things I never thought I would ever had to do (sizing for my brothers clothes as he had lost weight) I type this with tears in my eyes, thank you.... Sonia helped me and my nephews through every step. She was straightforward and transparent with the prices, the prices are very fair and reasonable. I never felt taken advantage of in our time of need and despair. I am very thankful to have found Sonia. Jorge was also very kind and professional and I thank him for his kindness but also his command presence - we asked him for signage during the service ( no photos or video) and right away he helped us out and assured us he would be around and make sure everyone was respectful of our wishes. They also had another lady there with short hair she was also very kind and professional. The chapel In Rosemead was beautiful , peaceful and spacious. We were able to have a catholic mass for my brother. Everything felt so private and serene. We didn't have to worry about a thing and anything we did have to worry about Sonia made sure she let us know in advance. Chavez funeral took care of everything. My brother had a beautiful service and they treated us all with so much dignity and respect. Sonia, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This year was the hardest year of my life losing my mom in February, my son who has Autism was hospitalized a week after, and my cat of 16 years passed two weeks before my mom. I called Sonia and told her I was interested in Chavez funeral services. She told me that she will call me back confirming our meeting at my house; she had to coordinate with another person in their business. Two weeks went by and she never called or texted as promised. I the called the same business number again. A man (Luis) responded. I explained the situation to him. He promised that he would contact Sonia and let her know; that the they would call me.....almost two more weeks and nothing. I assumed that they may be having some business or pressing issue, so I decided to drive the more than 5 miles to the address listed in their web site, on Clark ave in bellflower. I was in a bind today to find a keepsake to put my father's ashes in to give to my stepmother. I could not find anywhere local to me to where I could purchase something. I happened to call Sonia at Chavez funeral and cremations, and she told me she did not know anywhere local to purchase this item. Almost immediately after I hung up the phone, she called me back and asked if the number I called from was my cell phone. She then sent me a couple of photos of some necklaces to hold my father's ashes. They were beautiful. I asked her where they were located, and she gave me the address. 10 minutes later I arrived, she showed me a few things to choose from, and I found a beautiful heart shaped pendant with a chain. I told her I had no cash with me, but I could pay her with a card. She then told me to not worry about it, and that they had had them a long time, so it was not a problem for her to give them to me. They were an hour late picking up my moms body at 730 in the morning. The guys who picked her up were rough and seemed to struggle to pick up an 80lb little old lady. Cancer had made her lose so much weight and even I could move her around better than they did. It took a long time for my moms cremation to actually happen. 2 weeks and 2 days to be exact and there wasn't much communication until I started asking WTF because i hadn't heard anything and wanted to know when the cremation would happen. It was making me sick to think about her laying in some freezer somewhere. It's funny when I called the second time that they "finally" got the paperwork signed off by the state so they could schedule her cremation. The day we were supposed to pick up her remains they text and ask if we could come an hour later.... just as we were getting ready to leave the house. I said no because me and my siblings had all arranged time off work to pick her up together and settled on 30 minutes later than originally planned. They were still packing up the urns when we got there. I asked multiple times about the death certs and always got the same answer" I'll follow up With the health department and NEVER heard back. She said they would send them to her and I could pick them up, but later I got 3 copies in the mail from the health department. I guess I should have expected all this when she couldn't find any of the paperwork I emailed her and had to resend it all when I was there paying for her cremation. read more
