I was running late for my appointment. I had an idea of where it was located however I still got lost. I called the salon and the receptionist had given me excellent directions and landmarks to look for. The receptionist was extremely helpful, patient and understanding. I had the opportunity to receive a haircut from stylist Erin Leaver. She was and is indescribable. She takes the time to listen and builds a rapport with you. The best haircut I have ever gotten. If you want the most effective facial ever -- as in one that *really* makes a difference -- go see Marika. Trained in Europe, she's one of the few (and the best) at extractions, in addition to comprehensive cleansing, moisturizing, facial massage and overall skincare guidance. (She also does a great job at eyebrow waxing or tweezing.) Family members have gone to her for over 10 years. I make a point of seeing her every time I'm back in Michigan. I've been going to Ashlie Ladd for a long time now and I usually get highlights and a cut done during each of my visits. Ashlie always takes the time to listen to what I want and gives advice on what she thinks would be the best color and cut for skin tone and face shape. Honestly, had a completely negative experience with Sarah this evening. Went in open to just consulting to change my current color(blended highlights) to a more contrasting low light/highlight mix. Showed her a few photos of my goal and she acted extremely uneager to do anything at all. Lowlights would make my hair too dark and I still wanted to be overall blonde, highlights would damage it. After being disappointed in not doing any color, I was willing to just do a toner or purple shampoo with wash. Regardless, I came in to have my hair washed/styled if not more, but that at the minimum to feel great like most women coming into a salon! She was short, negative, and hard to connect with the entire time. Seemed annoyed and charged $40 for just a wash and style that wasn't great. Definitely will not be coming back to her. Had two great color experiences from a stylist here last year(can't remember her name, but she had been here a long time) and would only feel coming back to her. DO NOT see Sarah unless you want a rude and uncomfortable experience and possibility of paying to do something you could have done at home. Sorry.. its a no from me. read more

First time at Mirabella today and I will be back. Decent prices for men's haircut vs. other places in Okemos (aside from the barber shops). Mine was $35. Cool place that looks super high-end. They get you a drink while you wait (I got coffee) and when your time comes the person your appointment is with comes and greets you and walks you back. I got an appointment for about two hours after I called so you could totally go in a pinch. The staff was really friendly. Please, for the love of all things holy, try to get an appointment with AJ. I had no idea what I really wanted going in but when I left I was thrilled with the result. read more

They have great customer service, the wait time wasn't long, and the service was great! Not too expensive either, but I just got a cut.

Got my haircut from Courtney, and it was completely miserable even after a "two weeks buffing time". She also had really bad attitude despite I was trying to be nice. I've my my haircut from mirabella before with different hair dresser, and it was fine. So don't go for Courtney unless you want to pay 40 dollars (48 with tips) for bad cut and bad services. I have never gave anyone a bad review in my life, but this was just a horrible experience that I have to wrote about. read more

I had horrible split ends and my hair was an absolute disaster but she went to town on it and I was so impressed at how quickly she was able to locate all the dead hair and sift through my mess, hahah. I just had my second haircut at Mirabella, both by stylist Taylor. I've never paid much for cuts in the past, so I decided to treat myself when my husband and I moved to the area. I received a cut that was perfect; it added a bit of style but still allowed me to be the "mommy" I am. I went back today for the "same" cut and just love it. I went into the salon because I am new to the area and I spoke with the owner, I think her name it Cheryl. She gave me a cold shoulder. Maybe I was not dressed well enough for her or something (mind you, I make more money than you could dream of miss Cheryl) because she acted like she did not want to be bothered with me and acted as if she is better than everyone else. Well Cheryl, I am here to tell you, you are NOT better than anyone. The way you act is a turn off. I will tell everyone that will listen, not to go to your salon. You are a snob! I have gone here many times, have seen several stylists, and Taylor Silas has been the best one for me. Fun, polite and thoughtful, Taylor has always ensured that the cut and color I am getting is exactly what I am looking for. Clean, big space. Friendly staff. I am very new to Mirabella Salon, but I saw that they do eye lash and eye brow tinting. This is something I have never done before, but have always been interested in because I'm about as blonde as it gets. I scheduled an appointment with Marika, and I can honestly not even do her justice in a short yelp review. My results were amazing, and I now feel so much more comfortable not wearing any makeup at all. I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone with light colored brows or lashes because it really does make a huge difference and increase ones self image! read more

Courtney cut my hair and it looks pretty bad. She didn't listen to the length that I wanted it and cut it shorter than what I asked. She glanced at the photo I showed her. Pretty upset at how bad my hair looks, especially because I have some big event coming up. read more

I called here and spoke to the receptionist. I told him I wasn't sure if highlights or all over color was right for me. First, he told me that I need to know what I want before making an appointment (duh except every salon in town offers a consultation to help figure that out), then he said he could schedule an appointment. He seemed annoyed that I did not have a specific stylist in mind, so he chose one with the soonest availability, which sounded great at first. Since they don't have prices posted, I asked what the charges were for highlights vs. all over color. With this particular stylist, the price started at $130. I indicated that that price seemed pretty high for a starting point for partial highlights. He agreed and said they usually start around $95 and this was one of the higher charging stylists in the salon. Since each stylist sets their own price, I asked if there was a stylist that charged a more reasonable amount. He was basically silent for quite a few minutes, moaning every now and then and muttering "um" "well" "I don't know" - it was really awkward and made me feel like I was very wrong for wanting to know the price options - and then he basically just asked if I wanted to schedule the appointment. Still hadn't gotten prices for any other stylist in the salon. Stylists, prices, and availability - 3 things a receptionist should know. And if not, then find out don't just dismiss a caller. In this case, it cost this salon a customer. read more

I made an appointment for 12:30 with Lori Hartley. I arrived on time and was told by the receptionist that Lori would be with me shortly. She offered me tea or coffee, and was very pleasant. But, more than 15 minutes later I was still waiting. No one came out to say that Lori was running late. The receptionist went into the back of the salon so I couldn't ask her why I was still waiting mroe than 15 minutes later for my 12:30 appointment. This was my first appointment, so you'd think the salon would try to create a good impression. I took time from work for the appointment and had to be back, so I just left about 12:50. I couldn't wait any longer and still be back to work on time. No one was at the front desk when I left. The stylists may be terrific as the other reviews suggest, but if you make an appointment then the time should be honored. It's a hair salon; it's not surgery so what hair emergency would make the stylist 15-20 minutes late? If you book appointments, make sure that there is sufficient time between those appointments so that clients are not kept waiting. I understand a few minutes - 15-20, however, shows a lack of respect for your customers' time. read more
