When I think of Korean facials, instantly images of Korean women with perfect porcelain skin will pop into my head. You know what kind of skin I'm talking about-- wrinkle free, milky smooth to the touch, no hyperpigmentation or acne scarring, soft as a baby's bum. The allure of Korean facials were lurking in the back of my mind for quite some time before I finally took the plunge. Yuni came recommended by a friend and I came in with high hopes. I looked at her IG page to do a little bit of research and saw that she offered things like cryotherapy and hydra facials. Her location is inside a hair salon where she rents a room in the back. The room itself is quite tiny and simple/ no frills. Yuni herself was personable and easy to talk to. She addressed my skin concerns by having me fill out a questionnaire upon which she had me lay on the table for her to take a look at my skin. Stating what I already knew to be true (my skin was super dry), she went to work. My time spent with Yuni was exactly what my skin needed. Yuni was able to get my skin hydrated and dewy + plump feeling (not an easy task). While you can't expect a miracle in just one session, she is more than willing to recommend a package deal customized for your skin. Another reviewer also mentioned that she's not pushy at all and won't try to upsell you to buy her products. At one point she even recommended a moisturizer that I could easily find on Amazon. I have been receiving facials from here for a little over a year now, and I've received so many compliments for how my skin looks! I first found this place from Instagram, and thought I'd at least give it a try and shop around, and I went into the appointment determined to not be sold on anything. However, the moment I got to my appointment, I knew this place and Yuni was special. She took the time to discuss my troubles and get to better understand my skin type. My very first treatment was the hydrofacial and it was so relaxing (other than the pimple extractions). And then the appointment ended, and she never tried to sell me on anything. Told me to think about it and if I wanted to, I could come back. There was no pressure at all! And here we are a year later and I go back approximately every month! Yuni is so detail oriented and really tailors the facials for her clients. And not only has she helped me with my skin, she also helped me better understand the types of skincare products I should and shouldn't be using and helped me identify which products I was using at the time may be contributing to my troubles. Every facial is so soothing and relaxing, I look forward to going because the beds are nice and heated and the perfect environment for a nap. I have been struggling with acne since middle school and well into adulthood. When I was hitting my late 20s I finally wanted to get some professional help because no matter how much I spent on expensive products from Sephora, my face was always a mess. I sought out help from a dermatologist first but was just recommended to get on birth control. I did not want to take that route and wanted someone who would actually care about my skin. Yuni is that person! She cares very much about the health of my skin and plans the facials according to how my skin condition is doing. Almost a year later, my skin's texture has changed completely. Where and how do I begin? Yuni is fabulous!I'm a little hesitant to write this review because I know she will get all booked up, but... I have to share. I have been going to her now for about 6 months and I wanted to make sure I had enough sessions in to write an honest review. She customizes facials based on your skin type. I have extremely dry skin so when I asked about certain treatments I had seen on Instagram from other places, she walked me through what she thought my skin needed. And she was right. I started with a few individual sessions because I didn't want to commit but within two sessions, I bought a package because I know I found my place. I have been to other places including the Ritz in half moon bay, Burke Williams, and other Korean places but you won't find anyone with her experience in the Bay. Trust me, I have looked! Her experience is from top notch places in Korea and we all know korean skin care is a thing! The room is super clean, she cleans thoroughly after every client and the bed is nice and warm which is super relaxing. I may have fallen asleep from being so relaxed! My mom, who rarely gives compliments even says my skin looks so much better after starting my treatments here. And best of all, she is kind. She understands that life happens and sometimes you have to reschedule, and she is always willing to accommodate. Best place for skincare that I have found! read more
