The allure of Korean facials were lurking in the back of my mind for quite some time before I finally took the plunge. Yuni came recommended by a friend and I came in with high hopes. I looked at her IG page to do a little bit of research and saw that she offered things like cryotherapy and hydra facials. Her location is inside a hair salon where she rents a room in the back. The room itself is quite tiny and simple/ no frills. Yuni herself was personable and easy to talk to. She addressed my skin concerns by having me fill out a questionnaire upon which she had me lay on the table for her to take a look at my skin. Stating what I already knew to be true (my skin was super dry), she went to work. My time spent with Yuni was exactly what my skin needed. Yuni was able to get my skin hydrated and dewy + plump feeling (not an easy task). While you can't expect a miracle in just one session, she is more than willing to recommend a package deal customized for your skin. Another reviewer also mentioned that she's not pushy at all and won't try to upsell you to buy her products. At one point she even recommended a moisturizer that I could easily find on Amazon. Much appreciated. These types of facials aren't cheap but when it comes to your skin and maintenance, they are totally worth it.

However, the moment I got to my appointment, I knew this place and Yuni was special. She took the time to discuss my troubles and get to better understand my skin type. My very first treatment was the hydrofacial and it was so relaxing (other than the pimple extractions). And then the appointment ended, and she never tried to sell me on anything. Told me to think about it and if I wanted to, I could come back. There was no pressure at all! And here we are a year later and I go back approximately every month! Yuni is so detail oriented and really tailors the facials for her clients. And not only has she helped me with my skin, she also helped me better understand the types of skincare products I should and shouldn't be using and helped me identify which products I was using at the time may be contributing to my troubles. Every facial is so soothing and relaxing, I look forward to going because the beds are nice and heated and the perfect environment for a nap. Nor am I arguing whether or not it was a consultation, or what is the correct term to use for the regimen handout. I am stating that it was NOT made clear that that was what was happening or that I would be charged for it. The whole point is that I was unaware it was a "full consultation." I highly recommend improving communication at this establishment. In summary, I never booked a consultation, nor did I ask for one, and there was most certainly miscommunication on the part of the employees. I did not make the realization until I was charged for it, and at the time did not know how to advocate for myself, so I simply paid and left, but that was not fair to myself. Hence, this review.

I'm no expert on skin care, facials, or detoxes, but I'm super impressed upon my first (and definitely) not last visit. L'Ami offers facial treatments that hydrate and support cellular regeneration. This will be on my next trip, but today, we're going to talk about my food detox session that I had, that was not only refreshing, but educational, as well. What you will notice upon entering the salon, is that the place is super clean, unlike other establishments. Cleanliness is the first and most important priority at L'Ami. With the foot detox treatment, this is paramount. As such, clean new bags are placed in the water basins where your feet get detox. Once the treatment is done, the entire bag is disposed of, preventing any other person form using the same (dirty) water. L'Ami doesn't cut corners by using bags over and over! For the foot detox treatment, I sat on a very comfortable massage chair (lovely)! The water is clean at the start, but once the electrodes are connected to your arm, and the machine is running for ~25 minutes, the toxins go out through the pores of your feet and turn the water yellow, green, or red, depending on what is being cleansed. As a first-timer, the experience can be quite trippy to see all the stuff leaving our body, but once you read the educational pamphlets that are provided while the treatment is undergoing, you get a sense of appreciation that the treatment is wonderful for your body. So get ready for your time there to be filled with information on their services and the consultation to make you feel like you're already buying something. It's a little pushy but their pricing seems reasonable so far and it also means they want to answer questions and help you make a decision that fits for you. The laser facial was helpful in keeping some of my acne from getting reinfected. I'm also hopeful going back will help reduce some of the scarring on my face as well. I did end up getting the middle range membership so we will see how it goes but so far I think it's a good option for people with a busy schedule who need a little extra help maintaining skin.
