3.5 stars. As a birthday gift from my sister, I got a facial here with Nhi. I wasn't sure what to expect and given that I hadn't gotten a facial in a few years (pre pandemic was my last one) I was hoping for the best. Korean facials have always intrigued me and I've been on top of my skin-- Yah, I'm that girl that does the zinc oxide 20% formulation every day, retinol at night to exfoliate and every other thing that keeps my skin as *young* as possible. Because as we all know, time doesn't stop for anyone. Initially I was supposed to get a facial with Sunny but since she was booked out several months in advance, I was open to seeing Nhi. Nhi was great and since I had seen her in the aftermath of heavy retinol use, my skin was super dry. She asked me several times how often I used retinol per week because my skin to her was severely dehydrated. Yes, I heard her the first time and I answered by saying I use retinol at least three times a week. "Your skin is so dry!" she chimed several times while she felt my face with her fingers before and after applying her serums. Umm, yup I heard you the first time. I know. No need to repeat and *this* is why I'm here. To have you relieve me of some of this dryness with a facial right?? Hydrate me please!! As for the facial itself, here were the pros: * Nhi was great at being gentle with my skin. She was thorough in applying all of the serums, masks, moisturizers and exfoliating. * I was able to experience micro current for the first time which was really interesting because it was like having your facial muscles twitch as the electrodes (I don't know what these are called) were passed over your face. The electric current was steady throughout and you could feel it penetrating down inside. It's hard to explain how this felt-- you would have to try it for yourself to see. It was also a tad painful but nothing I couldn't handle. In some areas I had to hold myself back from laughing because it tickled (near the forehead). * Cryotherapy is also something that I haven't been able to do before in a facial and this is something that they offer here. It was nice to feel the icy cold mini paddles being slid across my face. This felt super refreshing. *Extraction isn't something that I usually like but Nhi was pretty gentle doing this. Cons (And this is just for constructive criticism): * When I've come from having the best facial lady who just had "magic" hands as I used to call them, it's a hard thing to live up to. Nhi was almost *too* gentle with her massage. The pressure was too light and when it came time to do the chest, shoulders and upper back massage, I could barely feel this. * When turning my head side to side or adjusting my head, Nhi's movements were jerky and not as smooth as they could be. When I asked her how long she had been doing facials for, she said 1 year. I think this could just be chalked up to lack of experience. Perhaps this could also be a training opportunity to have her lay on the bed so that someone could show her proper technique when moving clients heads around. It's these small things that people notice. Overall, this is a solid place to go if you are ever interested in having a Korean type of facial. read more

Overpriced for service provided and owner, Sunny, neither provides good service nor flexible with rescheduling (charges $60 for the cancellation policy). I didn't find the owner friendly but rather aggressive with attitude from the beginning. For my first appointment, she was 15 minutes late without an apology. When I ask if she's available later in the day, she just tells me to check her website and is generally not accommodating - for the price I'm paying and esp for being the owner, I expect better service. Bottom line: Sunny focuses on extracting as much money out of customers as possible and she is not worth your time. I've been going to Sunny for over three years now, and I'm so happy with the results. I came to Sunny when I started getting really bad breakouts out of nowhere. Sunny has been taking care of my skin for the past couple of years and I'm very grateful to her for the condition of my skin today. When I first met her, my skin was dull, dehydrated and I had issues such as redness, flaky skin and milias. Sunny is amazing! The first time I got a facial I came in with really bad acne. I have combination skin of dry/oily and sensitive. After a few sessions they started to disappear! Now I regularly get a facial and my skin has been so smooth and clear. Sunny was able to figure out the issues with my skin as well as what my skin needed. When I went in, she had me describe my skin type and what my goals were. She went over my current day and night skin care routine, even looked up ingredients in some. She helped me understand in what order to use my products, how often, and which not to mix or use day/night. The before and after results were pleasing. I hadn't realized how many white heads I had. Before meeting Sunny I've been going to different esthetician all over the Bay Area to help alleviate my acne, dry and dull skin. I had lots of blackheads and white heads and my pores were large. It's only through Sunny that I saw improvement after each visit. She does facial that specific to your skin condition and skin needs. Now I don't have any breakouts, my skin is well hydrated and I saw a significant change of my pore size. Different experience than the Yelpers providing 5 stars. As I was reading the positive Yelp reviews, I was excited to book my facial appointment with Sunny. Little did I realize that I did not fully experience the abundance of skincare knowledge Sunny possesses. During the end of the session, I had to ask her what she recommended for my skincare routine, as she had a chance to examine my face and problematic areas. She recommended two products, and she was not pushy, which I appreciated, yet she was more in a rush and was not helpful at all! I had asked her for her expertise on what skin care routine I should do for my face type, she just offered me those two products and ignored my question. Moreover, when it was time to pay, she told me that usually she would charge for 1-minute if session were to go over the designated time. I told her that was not my doing as I am getting a facial from her and the majority of the time I had a mask on my face. My session with Sunny was 2 and 1/2 hours. She then told me that she will let it slide since it was my first session. I initially went in for a customized facial and ended up paying more for add ons without being notified. Sunny is not clear or direct. Upon leaving, Sunny told me to text her whenever if I had any questions, concerns, or skin care product recommendation, as it was the fastest way to reach her. The same day I texted her pictures of what I was currently using and questions about products I wanted to run by her. SHE DID NOT RESPOND. I gave her a week to check-in with her and attempted again: SHE DID NOT RESPOND. I follow her on Instagram and have noticed she posts within minutes throughout the day, and yet she is somehow unable to respond to texts when she offers her availability via text message. Also, I have no clue what she did to my face, but it is worse than when I came in. DO NOT BELIEVE EVERY GREAT YELP REVIEW! BEWARE! People will form their own opinions, and it is true that people also have different experiences, which happened to be my situation. You incessantly keep saying how you don't respond to reviews or engage in this time-consuming matter, yet you are continuously responding, whether be non-stop texting me and responding to this review; this was resolved via text when you reached out after the Yelp review. We said our truths and experiences and came to a mutual agreement on parting ways, as you are not fit to be my esthetician and vice versa. As for the verbal confirmation, none was given because you never discussed the treatment with me, which I did not initially schedule the appointment for, but that is okay because I did pay you for your time. Additionally, I am unsure to whom you made it clear to about Monday's being your only days to audit ingredients, but I was not aware of that. Also, I found your response inconsistent, suspicious, and contradicting, to say the least, because during our conversation via text you discussed how my texts got lost in the shuffle, which is understandable, until you sent that second long text saying how you respond to your clients in order of priority and of importance. Which is it? As you have stated, "Despite your review, reluctantly, I responded to your request to review your ingredient labels", and that is true, yet it took for a negative and truthful Yelp review for you to respond; what would have happened if I never wrote a review? As I have stated in our text conversations, there was no need for me to reach out to you for damaging my skin when you DO NOT RESPOND. Yes. The following day I did let you know that my skin felt amazing, but it doesn't take a day to damage someone's face, so instead of waiting for you to reply, as you suggested, and only God knows when that would have happened, I sought medical attention, as I have discussed with you. We parted ways via text and now; it was mutual; no hard feelings whatsoever, so I ask you to please stop harassing me via text, as I had to block your number. I found her page on Yelp and Iam so fortunate for it . I thought I was pretty well informed about my skin care until I met her. She perfected it. Sunny is very well informed and very intelligent esthetician. My first facial revived my skin. She literally took out every little blackhead there was. She is detail-oriented and cares about her customers. The most awesome part is that she is passionate about what she does which results to be beneficial for all her customers. I wanted to wait until I finished the six sessions I bought with Sunny before I wrote a formal review. I found this place through YELP and decided to give it a try. I went to my first session, only planning on doing one session but ended up buying the package which i just finished yesterday. The place: the room is so relaxing and even in the short time that I have been there, she has even made it even nicer. With the greenery she has added and all of the little hooks as decor....i just love stepping into that place to relax. The facials: Each time i have gone, Sunny has done an amazing job at adapting to what i need that day. My skin has always been dry and each time i step out of the place, i have a new glow. Even my husband notices and says "wow" each time. She has done so many different things to my face and i have to say yesterday was my favorite. I have these lines in my forehead, from age as well as just being really dry and she did this procedures to get some of the wrinkles out. OMG.....i woke up this morning loving the difference.
