Date night out, and decided to come back to this place again. Got to sit in a different area this time, nice and open and beautiful fireplace. Some decorations were up for the holidays but not everything yet. For an appetizer my husband and I shared a 1/2 plate of Casadecce pasta which was delicious. Easily could be a main meal. For dinner, I had the roasted chicken breast and my husband had the Mirabele Duck Duo. Both great dishes but too much onion with the chicken. I highly recommend to ask for light onion, unless you're a fan. Could have had more potatoes too. Otherwise both dishes were scrumptious. We skipped dessert as nothing was appealing for us. Overall, was still a pretty nice meal and I'm sure we will be back again.

We were here for a cocktail party, pre-wedding day for my cousin. The venue is lovely, the bar is a bit dark which just think was supposed to make to more of an intimate ambiance but really just strains eyes while looking at menus. A small group of us had gathered around one of the high top tables and again, likely for intimate ambiance, but there was not as many chairs as there could have been here. And despite our waiter being really nice, I was a bit surprised they didn't offer to bring over more chairs when seeing my sister-in-law standing at the table. The menu offers two mocktails, both of which my sister-in-law chose and we all tried. The black berry jam was less a mocktail and more just straight juice. Which if that's your thing do order this one, but if you were expecting something more....virgin drink type, skip this one and order the other one. It's much better. We ate light here and opted to have a full dinner elsewhere, but my sister-in-law ordered the warm goat cheese on toast and my brother, mom and I opted on the fish and chips which the waiter told us was a favorite. The goat cheese on toast was not what I expected, this was a salad with a side, single piece of thick cut and toasted sourdough with a round chunk of warm goat cheese. I can't really express enough how giant a ball of goat cheese this way and how it looked. Now, visuals aside, my sister-in-law said it was good. The salad was tasty with the mustard vinaigrette which leaned more to the mustard side and was made better with the goat cheese mixed in. The fish and chips were as served with three pieces of fried fish over a bed of fries and Yukon chips, a wedge of lemon and a side of tartar sauce and ketchup. Considering the cost of this dish, this was a total pass with the only really good item being the fries. Even with tartar sauce and lemon the fish was just bland from batter to fish inside. The Yukon chips actually soak up the lemon and turn soggy so watch where you squeeze the wedge. The chips (fries) were seasoned just enough to be appealing and held up to lemon juice really well. Next time I think it may be better to just order the fries. All in all, lovely bar, nice staff, over priced for the quality.

Love this hidden gem in town. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is nice. The outdoor seatings are so beautiful and the service is very good and attentive.

Mirabelle is a very nice, historic location, and cozy spot for dinner, we went here a few weeks ago when it was time to try a new restaurant, and we had a relaxing and enjoyable evening. The dining room was very comfortable, and the decor was upscale and charming. Had a nice table next to the wall, and the server who was taking care of us was just 18 years old, but he had a good head on his shoulders and made great conversation. The food was also very good, I remember the soup was delicious, the main (the duck) was good, but could have been better, and the desert was a sweet ending. I do also remember that I had 2 drinks off the menu, the first one was fine, the second one was god awful, but the restaurant saved itself by making a new one and no charging on the bad drink. So be wary of the bartenders. They had the choice of a Pre Fixe menu which we went for, and it worked out well. If I could give a half star this would be a 3.5 but it leans 4 because of accommodating on things that needed correction. We had a good time here, and I do recommend for people looking for a nice dinner spot in Stony Brook.

My partner and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day evening at Mirabelle! Each course was absolutely delicious, the bacon wrapped filet mignon was BEYOND!!! The cooks obviously know what they're doing! Our waitress Alexis was a sweetheart too, making sure everything was good and we were happy :) Overall a romantic evening with amazing food, I couldn't have asked for more!

Mirabelle is a cozy upscale restaurant in Stony Brook. The food has some really stand out dishes and some average dishes. Of the starters, I really enjoyed the Foie Gras and steak tartare - the foie gras had a nice texture and the tartare was fresh and flavorful. We also tried the asparagus and mushroom salad and the burrata salad. Both were light and refreshing. Of the mains, the duck was okay. The glaze was good but the meat was not infused well with flavors. I tried the scallops which was hearty and well cooked but a bit too salty for my liking. The desserts were really ordinary or just weird. The affogato was completely melted ice cream in the coffee served in a glass with a very tiny amount... you had to drink it because the spoons would not reach. The keylime pie was very buttery in the crust and far too sweet. The sorbet was refreshing but nothing out of the ordinary. The profiteroles (like cream puffs) were actually enjoyable but messy to eat with the chocolate sauce. The ginger almond tart was very sweet, brittle, and gritty. Service was a bit slow and the restaurant was not crowded. Additional notes from friends who dined here: The drinks are strong and the oysters were very fresh and tasty.

I've enjoyed my experience is here every time we sit. That's what it's all about right? There's an elevated level of expectations when you dine here. Been here several times, and even have visited this restaurant when it was in St. James. One of the times we've been here we actually got engaged so this restaurant holds a special nostalgia for us no doubt. Mirabelle is at the Three Village inn which was built in the 1750s, set in the beautiful and quiet Stony Brook area. They do very well to maintain as much historic originality and charm making for a really unique experience. The restaurant has been under the direction of executive chef Guy Reuge, although I do believe he may be stepping back a bit but is still offering his expertise. What we ordered: Appetizer: Flammkuchen: this is flatbread with bacon and onions. I actually have some criticism on this. This was some thing that we could've done without, really nothing to get excited about. Raw oysters: Oysters were fresh and received from a local distributor. Drinks: The Mirabelle Smoked Harbor Road Generously made and flavorful. We had multiple. Kids: Pasta marinara, Kobe sliders, and a side a broccolini. The kids will eat good here that's for sure. No frozen nonsense, fresh and delicious. The sliders were cooked a perfect medium, the pasta was flavorful that any adult would enjoy and the broccolini was very good as well. Dinner: Halibut Loin of lamb Amazing! What thoughtful insight into creating these dishes! Expertly crafted, careful selection of ingredients, and cooked to perfection. Again the expectations are high, and these two entrées did not disappoint. The halibut was robust in flavor and Hardy for a fish dish. The lamb was seasoned perfectly and cooked to a perfect temperature. Absolutely amazing. You're going to find the staff to be professional and accommodating. Services prompt and on point. I recommend this place for their food, charm, and location.

We read a recent review where someone proclaimed the owner to be nasty & unfriendly (sure, I am paraphrasing). Those types of reviews are generally emotionally charged and written by plebs I find. More on that toward the end. Pulling up to a rather unassuming east end Long Island small shopping plaza drenched in rain; opening the door, you are taken back to a semi rustic and dim interior. Perfectly elegant in its bucolic charm- with nice lounge music playing. It is a sit where one likes atmosphere. This is meant with the utmost of respect and candour. We were greeted kindly by the proprietoress (Jacqueline), and handed pleasantly robust binders with the wine list and food. Deciding to treat this in the more European café type, we had glasses and charcuterie. I, the Sagrantino, and her the Kerner. Jacqueline was vocally pleased with our interesting choices. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap. She not only delivered, but gave us a wonderful story including the provenance and her experiences - ultimately, the word genius came up more than once. To wit, there was nothing here but an exceptional experience with a like-minded wine enthusiast. I felt welcomed and in the frith of old kin. Nasty, belligerent, dullard atmosphere- indeed not. Traditionally served with pork or veal, but they do have chicken or eggplant as well! I went with the classic Weinershnitzel which is traditionally served with veal schnitzel and served with brown gravy. Lindsey got the Chicken Rahmschnitzel which is schnitzel topped with a creamy white reisling-infused mushroom gravy. Both were filled with flavor and we were very impressed! All schnitzel is served with spätzle, seasonal vegetables, and red cabbage. This was the definition of a comfort meal that. We started with their Bavarian Cheese Board, and classic German appetizers - potatoes pancakes paired with this insane apple butter, and potato dumplings with your choice of gravy. Let's start with the good. We went on a full Saturday night. Our waitress and waiter, despite their…read moreeerily "The Menu-esque" mannerisms, were very friendly. The waiter very enthusiastically brought me a perfectly chilled beer and a perfectly chilled glass. I dug that. The Tokyo White beer was delicious. One of the best beers I've had. Our waitress did - on at least two occasions - tell us the chef recommends that we eat the dish faster and immediately after it is placed in front of us. To her credit, she said it in the nicest possible way and we obliged. Now let's talk about the food. The first course was an oyster. Tasted like eel sauce and wasabi- but a good balance. The second course was some sort of Tataki. It was also pretty good. Tasted like eel sauce and wasabi- but a good balance. The third course was some sort of seaweed salad. It was pretty good. Tasted like eel sauce and wasabi (you might be starting to recognize a pattern). The fourth course I don't fully remember the name of. It did NOT taste like eel sauce and wasabi. It was a warm dish, temperature wise. It kind of tasted like a thick seafood/corn chowder, but it wasn't a soup and it has a shredded consistency. It was alright. The next course was what they described as some sort of chef specialty soup that had to "cook for hours and hours".. It was miso soup. It was good miso soup. As good as any $4 miso soup I've had at any good, local, non-Omakase sushi restaurant. Was it better? No. And it was served in a plastic cup. It really should've been served in some sort of a stone or ceramic cup/bowl. I don't even eat out of plastic in my own home when I'm throwing together a quick $10 meal. There may have been one more starter course- but if there was, it certainly wasn't memorable. Now we're onto the "main course" dishes. This might be the fault of my own ignorance, that I expected the dishes to be very unique and make us "oooh and ahhh". But the next five courses are just single pieces of sushi roll. The staff and the chef would show us pictures of the fish and the chef would hold up the actual fish they were using- as well as showing us the JFK shipping label to confirm that it had been flown in recently. I believe you! But these next five dishes are where the immeasurable disappointment really kicks in. Each single roll was from a different type of fish- and I'm sure it was some of the highest quality, freshest fish they could source. Unfortunately, every single piece tasted exactly the same. This is not hyperbole or an exaggeration- all five of the next courses tasted exactly the same- like an average sushi place roll but with eel sauce SATURATED rice and a big glob of wasabi. That was the only flavor profile- eel sauce and wasabi. Some of them were seared with a torch. The ones that were seared with the torch had a slightly different flavor profile- the torched ones tasted like eel sauce, wasabi and butane from the torch! Again, this is not hyperbole or exaggeration- the main course sushi rolls from this high-end Japanese restaurant all tasted exactly the same. If I had bought those rolls at a regular sushi restaurant for $20 per six pieces I would've been disappointed. It's just not good. It's boring. All you can taste is soy sauce, eel sauce, wasabi, and butane.. I truly felt like they were playing a joke on us- seeing how pretentious they could act while serving us beyond overpriced and mediocre food and watch us all eat it up both figuratively and literally. Every single $15 roll I've had from Sushi Ichi or Mt Sinai Sushi (two other local Japanese restaurants) is preferable to what they're serving at Sora Omakase. We had the option of adding on a single piece Wagyu beef roll for $30. Thankfully, I didn't fall for it. I'm sure it would've tasted like eel sauce, wasabi, and butane. Now let's move on to the last course. They called it a "dessert" - but it's another salty fish dish of some sort. I don't fully remember what it was, but I do remember that there was a little piece of plastic on top of it. So I have to awkwardly ask the chef if this piece of, what I clearly know is plastic garbage that shouldn't have made its way to my plate, is edible.. the chef feigns a language barrier and pretends like he doesn't know what I'm saying. He tells me that it's seed garnish. I say "no not the garnish- I'm asking what this little piece of plastic is" and pointed it out to him. He says " oh that's paper" and he plucks it off my dish before I had a chance to take a picture of it. I didn't expect them to give me money back or even remake it- but they barely acknowledged it and didn't even apologize for the mistake. I couldn't help but I think about the waitress, reminding me that the chef recommends eating each dish immediately for the best culinary experience. Well, I have a suggestion for the chef- for the best possible culinary experience - I recommend you make sure you don't serve a customer plastic garbage.

Cool spot with a Manhattan vibe "behind" Main Street in Patchogue…read more The reason this is key is because, since they face out to the firehouse and residential areas, parking USUALLY isn't a problem. There's a small lot that's free and you can park on Jennings. (sorry residents). We went on NYE so had to park several blocks away. No biggie. The inside is dark and cool with a city-vibe. Ample bar space and 1-4 tops an some banquet seating that lets you look out over the street. We were greeted right away by what turned out to be our server and seated promptly by the windows (we had a reservation). Also greeted by a gentleman that we think might have been her dad. The young lady hustled all night and managed the crowd well. We never waited too long for her to check in on us and she was very helpful with selecting wine and clarifying menu items. That being said, THIS IS A SMALL PLATES JOINT. People expecting full-sized portions should adjust their expectations accordingly. We did, however, order the Trastavere seafood platter (medium) which came as a tower and seemed impressive. Two types of oysters (large and medium) were presented; briny and fresh and pretty damned tasty. There was also a ceviche and tuna tartare that was, unfortunately, a bit unremarkable, as was the shrimp cocktail (though the shrimps were pretty hefty). The American "black caviar" was a nice way to commemorate the meal. Nutty with a pop of salinity but maybe something you can skip. We meant to order the Carne e Formaggi but got the Gamberetto instead which was fine as it was pretty tasty nonetheless (made with shrimp but it almost tasted like smoked salmon). Virgola Manhattan was good but pretty standard. Follow-up drink of dirty Manhattan was blissfully salty and cold. But back to the menu: we are unsure if they have an actual kitchen back there which would also explain the small plates concept and oyster and chilled fish options. The bruschetta was tasty, as mentioned, but it seems like they cut and toasted the bread and topped it with the crudo. The other bruschetta options featured ingredients from other menu items that could be re-purposed for multiple dishes. Smart but expect this. We plan on returning and trying the charcuterie board (mix and match cheeses and meats) and some cocktails. Overall, a nice night out and a nice option for dining and drinking around Patchogue. Cheers!

It takes a lot to impress me these days...Rockefellers checked all the boxes. The food, ambiance,…read moreservice, drinks, all hit the spot!! Our server, Nicole, was seriously top notch. She took care of the entire floor on a busy Saturday night and didn't skip a beat! She was so attentive and wonderful. We had the Thai chili meatballs, trio dip and crispy tuna. All were seriously incredible. I don't even like seafood and this tuna dish was so fresh and delicious! We ended off the night with a brownie sundae and espresso martinis and they were perfect. The live music really made the night memorable and I can't wait to come back! 5/5 on all aspects!

The place was freezing with the AC on full blast and right above us, another table that sat a few tables away was also complaining about how cold it was. We ordered the kids Mac and cheese and chicken fingers with fries. Unfortunately they brought out a burger instead of my daughter's chicken fingers along with my other child's Mac and cheese and we told them it was wrong. My poor child was starving while everyone else's food came out already and she had to wait for hers but luckily we had some fries for her from our dish to share. I got a French onion soup and you can see it was a bit burnt on top. The soup was too salty and I couldn't take more than 3 sips. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich and I liked my cobb salad. My youngest enjoyed her Mac and cheese.
