Service perfect in every way with Jane and Mark handling everything so efficiently and friendly personalities so fun! The food so good and so much for guests. They even packed up five bags of leftovers for us! Price reasonable. Very! This should be the only place you consider for bridal or baby shower. The Wine Cellar on main is a usual spot I go to for good wine and some bites. You cannot go wrong with their prohibition pizza which comes with burrata and arugala. It's one of my favorites. The Mediterranean plate is another one of my go to's. Last time I went, they were out of some wines so we opted for a red blend which was good. It's a small restaurant/bar so if you're looking for cozy and quiet, try to go earlier. If you get there on a Friday night after 8, it' can get very loud because they usually have live music and it gets busy. My friend and I made a 6:30 reservation so we were pretty much finished with our meal before it got really busy in there. I come to the wine cellar pretty often, and I always have a good time. However I came in for Wine Wednesday recently and had the worst experience ever. The service was HORRIFIC. I don't want to bash this place because I usually do have a great time, but the staff was extremely unprofessional and rude. I have my own business and if my staff acted this way I would Fire them . Yum! This is one of my favorite spots to go when my girlfriends come out to visit. I like to go around 7 or 8:00 while there is live music but I can get out before it becomes too much of a college bar scene where it's impossible to get to the bar to get a drink. I like to sit in the window and grab a beer and a pizza. Food is always yummy. Spinach and artichoke dip is so good! The pizza is always great. I haven't really ordered anything else besides that. Service is good when you're seated. Sometimes a little slow in summers when it's packed. I see a lot of private events there so I assume you can rent it out. read more

I haven't been here in ages, even though it's so close by. It's under new ownership, same owner as Salted on the harbor which is a fav of mine as well. I stopped by and grabbed a drink after work and it was quite delicious. The drink was for the record. It's gin with lychee so you know, that was what I was going to pick. The place has changed since I've been there and for the better, there are tables along one wall, and a nice bar on the side. They have cocktails as well as wine and food picks, plus on alternating days they have Salted's full menu and Maroni's menus to pick from. I liked the vibe. It was very warm and cozy. After walking around town on a beautiful afternoon, grabbing drinks at the brewery and dinner up the block we decided to pop in for a night cap but ended up ordering a couple small plates too and let me tell you I would run from Babylon back to this place for that pistachio spread. The bartender described it as a pistachio Nutella spread and she was spot on. It was creamy and delicious-don't let the appearance fool you tho cuz it looks like baby vomit smeared on a plate but it was soo good. It came with mini toasts to dip. We also got the burrata which came with toast and prosciutto-that could have used a balsamic glaze though but it was half off apps on Tuesdays so that was a nice surprise. I hold book club here every month (except the summers bc it gets too crowded), and Amber has provided excellent service. Amber is friendly and helpful and I cannot imagine Wednesday Nights without her. The wine list is great, the food served is snack-ish but they also have menus from nearby venues (Salted). Very cool hip wine bar on Main Street. Great spot to stop in for a quick drink or an extended tapas meal while in the town of Northport. Came here for the first time last weekend for a few glasses of wine and had a nice time. There was an awesome guitar/singer preforming while we were there and the whole crowd was into it. Amazing spot in Northport with a great wine selection! I'll start by saying I'm not the most seasoned wine drinker. I came here with the lady a couple of weeks ago and we both enjoyed the stop. There was a guy playing his guitar as we walked in. We sat at the bar in the back. Lindsay (owner/operator) was behind the bar and was very helpful. She walked me thru all the different wine options she had. I got to sample about 5-6 different wines on the menu. There isn't many tables, which makes it a little tough on live music nights, you gotta get there real early to get a table! My cousin (Allan) actually plays there every other Sunday! Definitely go check him out! Food: so this place has a short list of apps that they make in house, but they also have an option to order from a few restaurants that are close by. You put your order in with the waitress and they call it over, it then gets delivered to wine cellar, and gets served to your table! It's a pretty cool option! We just ordered some apps, that they make in house. We ordered a flat bread, spinach artichoke dip that's served with everything flats and their pretzel. The pretzel was huge, it's also served with olive oil, mustard, salami and mustard cheddar... it was very good! The spinach artichoke dip was delicious as well! It was creamy and served warm! Prices on some of the plates are a little overpriced for the value received. Wine- selection of wine is excellent. Really great variety of high quality wines available Atmosphere- the place is well decorated and has a very comfortable atmosphere Service- so 1 out of the 4 visits I've paid this place has the service been good. On most visits, the staff seems pre-occupied not with other tables and patrons but with themselves and not paying attention to the patrons. Let me first start by saying I am local to the area and I have always loved Wine Cellar On Main. It's really unfortunate that the actions of 1 member of staff can turn a regular customer and her friends/family off to the establishment. To put it short, we were very disappointed with the service we received. Firstly, we waited an hour for our food orders to be taken and actually had to grab the attention of the waitress in order to place the order then another hour for just our appetizers to come out where there were missing items. Our waitress was extremely rude and condescending to myself and my party. We have for the past 2 years come for "Wine Down Wednesday" as it has been consistently advertised on the website and Instagram page (can be seen on their "specials" highlight reel). We overheard another party inquire over their bill stating that they were charged full price for the wine bottle despite the special. We watched as their bill was adjusted without incident. Funny enough the same thing happened to my party moments later when our bill arrived but instead we were given an eye roll and told that the special was no longer being offered and we were only being given it because we "said something". We mentioned the fact that it is still advertised on the website and Instagram page but instead of simply apologizing for the confusion our waitress snapped back at us saying in a very rude way that they haven't updated their website yet and that's just the way it is now....as if that's our problem or responsibility to know your website isn't updated? If it's stated on the website AND Instagram page and nothing inside the restaurant states otherwise how is it appropriate to snap at the customer for calling that discrepancy out? To top that off when we asked for a pen to sing our bill she also felt the need to snap at us rudely and tell us "it's not time for a pen yet" rather than just simply grabbing one. Unnecessary. Really just left such an bad taste and we hope that the quality of service is not on the decline at this establishment because it really has been a great place over the years, but on this night it was a disappointment. read more

If you know me, you know that wine bars that feature small plates are my thang and I make no apologies! So, I was already pretty happy when walking in and as I crossed the threshold, I was instantly in love with the way they transformed an old storefront into a dark & cozy den in which I was about to be dazzled by page after page of reds, whites and sparkling, cheese boards, and desserts. My parents were less than enamored, I'll be honest. I felt bad about insisting on stopping in after our meal at Ship's Inn, but how could I pass by a wine bar like this and not go in?! It was a quiet night. New Year's Day, after all, so most people had blown their load the night before. Mom ordered Dubonnet and was pretty p/o'd that they didn't have it. "Isn't this a wine bar?" etc. I'm not really sure if anywhere carries Dubonnet anymore. I look at it like the Brandy Alexander: these types of Mom drinks are destined to have their day again, just you wait! They also don't have coffee, her second choice. I think *that* is a lost opportunity. Get some coffee presses at the very least! After all, this is a killer place to come and get dessert and what goes best with dessert? (Don't say dessert wine). That said, I'm not deducting stars because I really dig this place. I was able to find a reasonable glass of some Italian red that was delicious and we ordered up a bunch of desserts, including pumpkin cheesecake that is utterly DIEvine. The crust is more like a ginger cookie than pie crust and it's truly incredible. I thought the whipped cream on top was kind of a weird choice, being that the cheesecake is decadent enough on its own. Another really awesome thing about the Wine Cellar: they give you abbreviated menus from neighboring restaurants so that if you're looking for something heartier than a cheese plate or hummus and chips, you have that option as well. My friend and I were glad when the live music stopped then the playlist they had on was awesome... (Love retrograde by James Blake!!) Wine list was great .. The cot èst Chardonnay was really crisp and I like the way they describe the wines of your choosing by the notes... That's a good way for a new wine drinker to figure out what they like, so we enjoyed that... Meat and cheese plate, nothing special .. Been wanting to check this place out for a while and i finally walked in last night! The guy who was singing and playing his guitar really was a great start walking into the restaurant/bar! We sat at the bar since we had just come from dinner but had we not eaten prior too the food looked DELICIOUS specially the meat and cheese which are ALWAYS a plus in my book specially with a great wine! The bartender was super duper friendly and her knowledge of the wines were unbelievable! The coolest thing about this place is you can do tastings of different wines for $4 to $5 a glass and let me just say the pour for a tasting glass was really good! we tried a few wines we wanted and went with her suggestions as well! I can't say enough good things about the Wine Cellar. I had my engagement party here, rented out the whole restaurant for 3 hours, and everything was perfect, even better than expected. It started with the owner Lindsay, who was so nice, helpful and accommodating right from the start. Her manager, Felicia, is amazing. Other workers there, Jack and Catherine, were amazing as well.
