He makes sure to check in on you regularly, vs. coming back when the treatment is done, which has happened to me from other places. I was really impressed during our consultation because he was able to tell my general health just by looking at my tongue. It's sounds crazy but he was correct on everything he was saying. After an extended hiatus, I have been actively training in martial arts for the last 7 years. In that time I have incurred more than a handful of injuries, some mild, some more serious in nature. I started seeing Dr. Lee two years ago, as I'd heard acupuncture was good for chronic pain. I have carpal tunnel and I'm in my 20's, it's not an easy thing to have when I work in an office and have to type all day. Before coming here, I had to take 3 Tylenol every 4 hours to get through the work day. Now, I almost never take pain medication. Dr. Lee has made my carpal manageable and he's really kind and works with your availabilities. Unfortunately for me, my insurance has never covered carpal. But still, I come every week because I think it's worth it for the benefits. As an added bonus, Dr. Lee is just a really good dude. Dr. Brandon Y. Lee saw me on the same day I called and forfeited his lunch to accommodate me. I was in grand discomfort with a pinched nerve pain radiating from my lower back down my leg. I'd been struggling for years with various chronic health issues when I started going to Dr. Lee at Miracle Acupuncture. I'm a hard-core skeptic, but i'd grown weary of Western medicine keeping me on an endless cycle of daily medications - each new med coming with its own side effects. I had been experiencing pain in my elbow for a few months. At first I thought I was sleeping on it b/c it hurt when I would wake up. After a few weeks of soreness, i bought a compression sleeve. I also started babying it b/c I thought some rest would help. Then I added some daily Motrin and icing to my treatment plan but none of these things helped much. Since I don't use the elbow receptively I didn't think it would be considered tennis elbow but all my symptoms were exactly as tennis elbow is described. After nearly 3 months of pain that was getting worse, I went to my MD just to make sure they thought nothing else was going on. She diagnosed tennis elbow, told me to ice it more than once a day, and wrote for a cortisone injection. I didn't want to do the cortisone b/c I know that is just a temporary solution and doesn't always work so I booked a session with Miracle Acupuncture. Acupuncture worked wonders for me in the past for back pain and headaches but it is important to find someone that is skilled in needle placement. I was going to a very good acupuncturist in West Hollywood (Dr. Song of Sunset Acupuncture formerly LaBrea Acupuncture) but since I moved, I wanted something closer to home. Miracle Acupuncture had great reviews on Yelp, so I figured I would give it a shot. The place is walking distance from my house in a small plaza on the corner of La Cienega and Whitworth. The parking lot is tricky b/c spots are super small if you do have to drive - street parking off Whitworth is free for 2 hours and very easy. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Brandon who had a very pleasant energy about him. He did a thorough assessment, explained what he sees in detail based on looking at the color of my tongue (which fascinates me) and then told me his plan of where he would place the needles based on where my pain was and what he felt would benefit me. After placement of each needle, he would check in to see how I was doing. He put a lot of needles in my elbow. In some areas it felt like he was screwing them in. I was feeling a little like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz as he twirled those needles in place. I actually love when they find that "spot" of where the pain is the most intense. The needle touches it, you feel a "good pain" followed by an instant relief. But then he hooked up a few of the points on my elbow to a stimulation machine, which i have never seen before. I was nervous b/c the acupuncturists I had prior to Brandon, used manual stimulation but he said this was better. When he turned it on, he asked if it was too much and lowered it as needed. The machine felt like it was pulsating each needle so there was some discomfort but I know this goes with healing and it was tolerable. Brandon turned on the heat lamps and told me to call him if it became too unbearable and he checked back in with me every 10-15 minutes to see how I was doing. At first, my elbow felt very stiff with pressure in the areas the needles were placed. I felt like I couldn't lift it off the table i was laying on. I'm not going to lie, the stimulation machine was pretty scary at first. The ticking sound and the pain made me feel like I was being tortured. But I was visualizing the chi energy that had been blocked now being forced to move and as time went on the pain became less and less. At some point I even feel asleep. When my session was complete, I felt 80% better than when I walked in! The next day my elbow pain was still there but very slight - 90% better! I was blown away when I got home. That was the best acupuncture I ever had! Brandon's technique is simply amazing to me. I went for a second visit a few days later b/c I want the elbow pain to be 100% gone. That day I walked in, I had a headache, which is nothing new. I have had headaches since I can remember. And I always get them after working 2 stressful 13 hour shifts b/c I don't drink enough water, I don't sleep enough, and I'm running around all day caring for patients. (I'm an RN). I went in that day for the elbow but told him I had a headache. He asked where it was located, placed some needles in my feet, head, and a few other spots and within minutes my headache was gone! Now I'm going back to treat those. Then I may tackle my sleep issues! As I write this review, my elbow feels fantastic and I don't have a headache. My back pain (which I dealt with for 1.5 years) was treated by another acupuncturist in 2009 after 7 sessions - since then I had some maintenance sessions but only a handful. Its crazy to me that most insurance plans choose not to cover acupuncture which actually HEALS a condition but they will cover cortisone shots, narcotics for pain management (which we all know just masks the pain), and invasive procedures like surgery, that may or may not even work. If you never tried acupuncture, don't be afraid, you will not be disappointed. And Brandon at Miracle Acupuncture is seriously the most amazing healer I ever met. read more

Even though I grew up in an Asian household, I have not always been a believer in acupuncture. I was have digestive issues and finally decided to go to see an acupuncturist after doctors could not give me a diagnosis. I found Dr. Lee on Yelp and found him to be just like everyone has said: Kind, gentle, modest, humble, and didn't try to sell me anything. The session went well and I did feel better but was not completely convinced. I thought it could be possible that this was all in my brain. Then early this year I had a bad reaction to some medication. One of the effects was that I was unable to urinate which can be quite serious. I had to go to the ER. I was sent home with a catheter which is a frustrating way to live. I called Dr. Lee to see if there was a treatment for that. He said there was and saw me that same day. After my session with him I was able to urinate on my own within half an hour. I was stunned. I had been have trouble for three days prior. It was a lifesaver. I'm now a believer in acupuncture and also a believer in Dr. Lee. read more

Dr. Lee is fantastic. I haven't written a review in a long time, but I want people out there to know that he is a healer, he helped me so much and and I hope he can help you too. I had horrible jaw, face, eye, mouth pain on one side of my face following a traumatic dental visit. It resulted in ocular migraines and I was fearful that I would experience some palsy similar to what I had in the past. He listened attentively to my prior health history, was very good at explaining his analysis and got straight to work. I found that his treatment was aggressive (lots of needles) but only because I was in so much pain and I have had A LOT of experience with acupuncture. This is in no way a negative. Based on the results (I am pain free) he treated as necessary. I only mention this because some acupuncturist are tentative the first time they treat a patient. What I want to convey is, he will treat you based on your need. I am so grateful for the healing work of Dr. Lee. Moreover, he has great hours, he is efficient and extremely affordable. It's hard to describe exactly how much I appreciate Brandon as my acupuncturist, but looking at the other reviews you can start to get an idea, and after you meet him you will understand why he has these amazing reviews! a couple of points: 1. I've noticed that many places that have such high Yelp reviews have someone at the establishment asking for a 5-star review. Brandon does not ask for anything - I couldn't imagine him asking. All of these reviews are for real. 2. My girlfriend was a skeptic (didn't believe that acupuncture did anything). But she described feeling like she was floating on a cloud afterwards, and now goes every week. 3. I was in a car accident, and had severe shoulder pain. Brandon not only helped me immensely, but he is an incredibly genuine and a great person. 4. He is so incredibly knowledgable and shares and explains what he's doing. I came here after experiencing sudden pain in my jaw making it difficult to speak or eat. I've had TMJ and general jaw tension issues for many years and acupuncture is the only thing that makes a noticeable difference. This time, I came to Dr Lee and after 1 session with him I can feel only 10% of the pain I walked in with. I also had a sharp pain in my lower back on one side. He did some cupping in this area and when he took them off I could feel the blood rushing to the muscles and instant relaxation in an area that was very sore 10 minutes earlier.
