I went to Dr. Wu during pregnancy when I wanted to naturally induce labor. After my first session I started getting contractions that night and on the table at my next session. Post pregnancy I am now seeing him to help increase my milk supply as it has unfortunately taken a dip due to post partum anxiety. Recently I have only been able to produce .5 oz. from each breast after pumping. Today Dr. Wu cleared the blockages he found in my boobs, and I kid you not, I had streams of breast milk squirting EVERYWHERE! I easily had 2 oz. or more from each breast come out. I cannot say enough about Dr. Wu. I came to him with unexplained secondary infertility as I was having trouble getting pregnant with my second child. I am writing this as a mom of a beautiful and healthy 6 month old baby boy. I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for Dr. Wu. I'm advanced maternal age and a fairly stressful person. As you can imagine it was difficult for me to get pregnant. We tried for a year and a half before we decided that it was time to look into IUI or IVF. Before going this route, a handful of people recommended I try acupuncture first to help with another shot at a natural pregnancy, and even if that was unsuccessful, doing acupuncture would get my body and hormones in a good place for IUI or IVF. I had some stressful family dynamics that resolved itself about late November 2023. After the holidays I decided to try acupuncture with Dr. Wu in January 2024, and I got pregnant a month later in February! Not only did I do acupuncture before to get pregnant, I kept at it all throughout my pregnancy up until about a week and a half before giving birth. It's so important to keep your stress levels down while you're pregnant and acupuncture and talking to Dr. Wu every week really helped with that. I truly believe I had a pretty easy and health pregnancy (no nausea, morning sickness, heart burn, passed all pre-natal exams, etc.) because of the ongoing acupuncture. To be honest, I enjoyed being pregnant because I didn't really experience any of the uncomfortable symptoms. I started seeing Dr. Wu over 2 years ago. I remember in my first visit with him I was just crying and I was so depressed and anxious from all the negative fertility matters I had gone through. I have severe stage 4 endometriosis, which I did multiple ablations when I was in my early 20s and 30s. I had a couple failed ivf prior to seeing Dr. Wu and I was told my chances are very low since the ablation has done some major damages to my ovaries already. I started seeing him 3 times a week for a year and all my endo pain went out the window. My periods were as normal as it could get. I was already under a RE treatment during this time. I had an egg retrieval a few months later and it was very successful. Unfortunately my body would react badly to the hormones and ivf meds. Every time I tried transferring, I would start bleeding to death from the meds and the transfer would get cancelled. This is my second review after a second successful pregnancy! I first went to Dr Wu when I was 38 years old after being told using a surrogate was my only option due to severe diminished ovarian reserve. I was told I'd be in menopause by 40 by two REIs after several failed IUI and IVF. After going to Dr Wu, I got pregnant naturally and spontaneously after 6 weeks! And gave birth to a healthy baby girl who is now 3. When I was ready to start trying for a second, my hope was guarded because I was 41 this time and my odds seemed slim to none. Dr.Wu is by far the most amazing doctor! My husband and I experienced a few pregnancy losses last year. While I was recovering from the third one and we were told it was time to meet with an IVF doctor. I found Dr.Wu's yelp page by some miracle search. I'll be honest, I was a little skeptical about acupuncture but figured at the very least, it couldn't hurt and most places don't have this many good reviews. After one month of acupuncture, I had my first period in my ENTIRE life that wasn't two days of me laying in bed sick with terrible cramps. It was a period that apparently everyone else gets each month but I never realized I didn't have to just suffer for 1-2 days each time. I did 3 months of acupuncture, then was told I was recovered enough to start trying again. We got pregnant that month without IVF and (knock on wood) are doing good. We made it to the second trimester -currently 22 weeks- when we've never made it past week 10 before. I've continued to see Dr.Wu at least once per week, and 2-3 times per week during the first trimester. I still don't know how acupuncture really works, but my husband and I are 100% believers and so thankful for Dr.Wu getting us to this point in the pregnancy. If there is anything you take away from this review, let it be this: Dr. Wu is the most phenomenal acupuncturist and hormone specialist that I have ever met, and if you struggle with any sort of thyroid/PCOS issue (or issues around conception, though I cannot personally speak to that!), and want to see some improvement in a gentle, holistic way, let Dr. Wu be your first stop. I found Dr. Wu sometime late last year, overwhelmed with symptoms of hormone imbalance, and sick of doctors trying to push birth control as the end all be all instead of figuring out the root cause of what was going on. After about a month of consistent treatment, these symptoms were noticeably better. I'll spare you Yelpers all the details (feel free to message me though if you're in this same boat and have any specific questions!), but for the first time in about a year, I finally felt that wellness and feeling familiar and peaceful again in my own body were within my reach. Dr. Wu is professional, knowledgeable, and straightforward with his care. Scheduling is easily done online via his website, and there's ample parking nearby at the tennis center. Feel free to bring in any lab work that you may have, as Dr. Wu can review it and further tailor your care to your needs. Like some other Yelpers have mentioned, acupuncture is not a one-time thing. You really have to be committed to going for several sessions. Dr. Wu recommended that I come in three times a week, but I knew that financially and scheduling-wise, I could only go twice weekly. Even so, I still was able to see improvements! I came to Dr. Wu to help me prepare for a 2nd round of IVF. 1st round had failed (only one healthy egg, which didn't implant), and the fertility clinic had asked me to take a 2 month break, take some vitamins, and hopefully my egg quality would improve before round 2. I also had a large endometrioma causing trouble, and had been trying 6 years for a baby. Dr. Wu suggested we do 4 months of acupuncture treatment, with 3 sessions per week. I was hesitant because... once you've shoveled out a ton of money on IVF you're a bit weary of extra spending, especially going into a 2nd round. HOWEVER, Dr. Wu said... "But what if you DON'T have to do IVF again?" That possibility hadn't even crossed my mind as I thought IVF was my only option - acupuncture being just a little boost. Ladies and Gentlemen - I was beyond shocked when at EXACTLY 4 months in, I got a positive pregnancy test. There was no greater joy than canceling my 2nd round plans with the IVF clinic. Update on my pregnancy... Finally, I reached 8 months of my pregnancy now, so happy and feeling blessed. On my 2nd trimester, I went back to see Dr. Wu on my 26 weeks pregnancy, because I didn't passed my 1st glucose test, I called him the next day to get the treatment, before my 2nd glucose test, I did a couple treatment, and Thank God I passed my 2nd glucose test!! I don't have gestational diabetic, thanks to Dr Wu, if not I will have to watch my sugar level every time I eat. Now on my 3rd Trimester I'm dealing with sciatic nerve pain, and pelvic griddle pain :( so painful I couldn't even walk and sleep at night, I did a couple treatment and now it's getting better, I can walk and sleep better. I can't tell you for sure if Dr. Wu is the reason I finally got pregnant but I figured I'd share my story since I found other stories helpful when I decided to give him a try! I first started with Dr. Wu at the very beginning of June, I was on my period when I first went. I took his advice and did 3 sessions a week. I had been going one full cycle and had mild cramping taking place the entire time. It almost felt like things were adjusting. I started my period again. This period seemed to start off pretty normal, maybe kind of mild but then it turned extreme. I had some pretty heavy bleeding and cramping. Maybe it was a cleansing period and I shed some extra tissue, I don't know for sure. The ovulation I had after that period was when I got pregnant, mid July! It is expensive going 3 times a week but I committed to trying it for 2-3 months and seeing if it helped. I'm so happy it worked, it saved us thousands at the end of the day now that we no longer need to do ivf. That's the only other thing worth noting, I also had conceded to having to use ivf to get pregnant so maybe the pressure was off because of that. I would give more stars if I could! I am so grateful for Dr. Dan Wu! I have suffered nearly five years with what several Western medicine doctors dismissed as regular symptoms of peri menopause. The first doctor even suggested I get a hysterectomy. After suffering extremely difficult and long female cycles, a complex ovarian cyst was finally discovered in October. This concerned my doctor but still zero options for treatment. After getting some (marginal) relief over the years from herbalist, functional medicine, I finally researched peri menopause and found Dr. Wu. It is now only three months later and I had an additional pelvic ultrasound and the results were that the complex ovarian cyst is completely gone! As shocking to me as that is, I'm not super surprised because I have felt relief since my first visit with Dr. Wu. I can feel my hormones coming into balance for maybe the first time ever.
