I came here for a keloid removal and biopsy to be done by Dr. Burke. Every single staff member I…read morecame in contact with was so extremely kind and made sure I was so comfortable the whole time. The nurses were even talking to me about my favorite books when I was coming out of anesthesia and we were just having so much fun. They didn't hesitate to answer any questions I had and made sure I had everything I needed for recovery. When it was time to take the bandage off when I got home, I could cry. Everything looked beautiful! I've had this horrible, huge growth on my ear for so long that was so uncomfortable, I forgot what it's like to have a normal ear. Dr. Burke and his team were amazing and I'll definitely recommend them a million times over.

I was given an exam which included an inspection of my sinuses with a camera. To prep for this,…read morethey give you a spray of Afrin/lidocaine to dilate and numb your nasal passages. I had a reaction to the spray. I was hyperventilating, heart was racing, and I was crying (I was not emotionally upset, just a body reaction). I felt awful. The nurses had never seen anything like it - multiple nurses and the doctor saw me in that state. It took 12 hours to completely resolve. Nobody thought this was worth entering into my chart or mentioning in the exam results. I could go back tomorrow and someone would feel like it was OK to do that to me again. The patient portal software is terrible. If you click on the results tab, it asks you to enter results! I'm a patient and should not have access to that. And there were no results listed. Exam results are hard to find - you need to go to documents. Every exam result document has information that clogs access to real data. I shouldn't need to scroll through pages of information about my name address, allergies, etc to get to the brief exam summary. It also asked me who my doctor is. It wanted my phone number, which the practice already has. I've used several, this patient portal is the worst. For the CT scan, I was sitting on a chair that leans slightly forward. My feet could not touch the floor. My head was locked into place. The tech set me up and left to get the doctor, who performed the actual scan. I was waiting in a very uncomfortable position for several minutes, trying to stay in the chair and not move my head. When it was over, I mentioned that a foot rest would be really helpful for shorter people. The doctor said, "There's one over there". And there was one nearby. But it would have worked better if it had been under my feet. I did not feel that the doctor listened to me, or wanted to help me. Seemed like he only wanted to get me out the door.

The young lady at the front desk is so nice, and somehow always remembers my name. She really makes my day! Its like a small town doctors office located conveniently in the city. Our dog ate a fairly new hearing aid which I chose to purchase online to save money. This is a service they state as being free to program on their website yet we were charged over $600 to have it done. He also had a little tantrum and stormed out stating he didn't have time to replace the receiver wires and made us come back for another appointment. This takes less than five minutes. It left my child without being able to hear for too long. Since we had purchased the same exact hearing aid all he had to do was plug them in to her current settings on the computer but apparently felt we needed to be punished for purchasing elsewhere so we were excessively charged for the ten minute appointment. I have made multiple attempts to clear up this overcharge and they will not return my phone calls or emails. I have had to contact the Better Business Bureau. They clearly are more about money than helping folks to hear better. I would steer clear of this practice.

Risk Avoidance Over Patient Care I taught nursing students…read morefor ten years at South University and value careful clinical reasoning and professional communication. I had previously seen Dr. Julie Kerr, and she had recommended a procedure on my sinuses, but it could not be performed because I was taking blood thinners. After I was no longer taking blood thinners, I returned because the symptoms that had previously led her to recommend a procedure had not changed. Dr. Julie Kerr looked briefly in my nose for only a couple of seconds and told me everything was fine. When I told her I was still having the same problem, she said she would review my previous CT scans. I later received a message stating that everything was normal and that I no longer had the problem, despite the fact that my symptoms continued. I left believing the evaluation was driven more by risk avoidance than by an effort to understand my individual situation.

After paying onsite following my visit an extremely high bill, I've been billed several times since. There was also a 'no show' fee of $60! applied to my account. This was an online follow-up with the doctor who failed to show to my call. They should be paying ME for a no-show. I've attempted to speak with their billing team multiple times but continue to receive past due statements for charges that have been paid. In fact, when I total my bill(s) after insurance, they owe ME money. These offices are nothing more than bloated businesses trying to make a buck. What happened to the CARE in healthcare?
