I have taken care of my Mother's hearing needs for years. I am now a retired Audiologist and was…read morehaving some health issues so my brother stepped in and brought Mom to this clinic and purchased hearing aids. Mom's appointment kept getting rescheduled at the last minute. I am assuming that her hearing was tested by an Audiologist and I was happy when they recommended the same hearing aids I would have prescribed. But supposedly Signia kept sending the incorrect hearing aid and there was a "back order". I bit my lip and they fit her with loaner hearing aids until her new ones arrived. I brought her in for the first time to be fit with her new - permanent hearing aids. The Hearing Aid Specialist programmed my Mother's new hearing aids before she arrived and just put them in her ears stating she programmed them to target and NEVER hooked them up to the computer while in Mom's ears. First of all, I have never had a patient leave my office at target settings. Even if she copied the loaner hearing aid's settings, it still does not work. A feedback test was not performed, and neither was the OVP -own voice processing - just to name a couple of reasons the new hearing aids need to be programmed correctly in the patient's ear. Because I was still having health issues and in and out of the hospital, my brother took mom to her follow up appointment and I was told that she was hooked up and programmed and adjusted. Now what happened next is just unacceptable behavior displaying arrogance with no professional courtesy Her hearing aids stopped working and it was because she needed a new right receiver. I went to the office and introduced myself and I explained what I needed. I also had a super present for them - as I was struggling with retirement, I decided to give this clinic all of my receivers for Phonak and various other new hearing aid accessories. The Hearing Aid Specialist only scoffed at me and whispered something to the receptionist. The receptionist said that I had to make an appointment for my mom which was fine but she refused to give me my mom's in warranty receiver. I am angry now but ok, we will come in on Friday (the next day). But they claimed that there was no room for her to see anyone until the middle of the following week. I pleaded that she has Cros hearing aids and her good ear is dead and she can not go all weekend without hearing aids. Obviously, they did not care about much of anything after collecting our $7000. I was really hoping I could retire but after being treated so poorly and watching the obvious corner cutting I better not.
