Our move with Miracle Movers was the most stressful and disappointing move I have ever had in my life. My husband used to be in the military, so we are no strangers to moving. We encountered late movers, insufficient care of our items, and constantly changing pricing. We were recommended them by our realtor. It started off as expected with Rob, a former driver for Miracle Movers, coming to our house to perform an estimate and we were quoted for $3,900 to pack and move our stuff to Virginia. We called a week before our move to confirm our move date with Rob and we were then quoted $6,600 without anything changing in our house or destination. In that same call, I confirmed that they would wrap all our furniture and disassemble pieces as needed. Rob said that that would be no problem and we trusted him that this would be the case. The day of the move, the movers showed up 2 hours late at 10AM and the packers were still packing because they didn't bring enough materials the previous day. Our furniture was sat on the driveway concrete and brought into the truck unwrapped. We reminded the team that everything was supposed to be wrapped (as stated in the brochure we received). Shaun told us he would wrap the items the truck and he did not do this - a majority of our furniture was not packed as promised as shown in the below pictures. The realtor for the couple that bought our house stopped by and she was even shocked that furniture was going in unwrapped. They also only brought 2 mattress covers despite them knowing we had a 4 bedroom house and didn't box up our TVs. The team didn't even use their own blankets - they used ours and told us that it would have been extra if we wanted them use their blankets (not mentioned in the initial consultation)! Shaun called his manager Derek to bring another truck as they needed more space. Once Derek arrived, I let him know my thoughts and he was very dismissive. He did a walkthrough of the house with my granddaughter and kept walking away before she had the opportunity to tell him the items that still needed to be taken out. My husband and granddaughter ended up helping move stuff because it was taking so long and was getting dark. My granddaughter even had to show the team how to wrap our glass table in our blankets so it wouldn't be scratched or broken. They didn't leave until after 8PM and they still left things behind. We had previously booked a hotel room in Virginia, but were unable to drive up since we were so exhausted and frustrated so we had to book another hotel to stay the night. On our drive up the next day to meet the movers and unpack, Derek told us that the final total was nearly $12,000 and laughed at our frustration! My husband and I felt extremely deceived as our quote changed had 3 times: $3,900, $6,600, to finally $11,885. We also weren't told until the day they were delivering our items that they would only take a cashiers check or credit card. Upon unpacking, we saw that only 1 item was packed as we had expected based on our conversation with Rob. A few items were plastic wrapped, but the majority were not. The trucks were packed extremely disorganized and it looked like our things were put in haphazardly. We even saw someone literally throw a box into the storage unit. We haven't unpacked yet, but we are concerned that our items may be damaged. Management needs to provide better communication, more accurate pricing, and more training to the crew. This was absolutely not worth the $12k we spent and we have told our realtor about this experience as well. We would we appreciate a follow up to this because we are very disappointed.

    Broken plan stand

I am giving these movers one star because zero stars was not an option. I agree with the previous reviewers, Our move consisted of picking up our possessions at our house and a storage facility, and the next day, dropping some at another storage facility and at our new house. The crew was unprofessional and, in our opinion, incompetent. The crew was very late both days, and left before the move was completed. A valuable lamp went missing, many of our possessions were damaged out of carelessness, and many of our possessions were soiled, including a mattress. The company had to send another crew two days later to complete the original move. If you care about your things and getting good value for your money DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS. I am supplying some photos...we have more. Update: The owner of company called on Friday to tell me that they had located the lamp and it was delivered on Saturday. He assured me that he would pay for any repairs to the damaged possessions and would pay to place those that couldn't be repaired. Stay tuned..... Update 8/6/2021: Donny, the company's owner, did send us a check to cover the estimate for the repairs and the costs of the items that we had to replace. He was very apologetic

During the move, multiple crew members disappeared for periods exceeding one hour without explanation. One mover took particular notice of my wife's jewelry, watching closely as she handled it that morning. Her jewelry -- including pieces of deep family significance passed down through generations -- was secured in our locked vehicle with no signs of forced entry and driven directly to our new home. At the destination, the same mover who had observed the jewelry that morning offered multiple times to carry the specific bag containing it into the house. My wife placed the bag in our bedroom closet. At some point during the remainder of the move, we were outside the home. The following morning the jewelry was gone. When we reported this to CEO William Saunders, he stated -- verbatim -- "we have never had anything like this happen and this could ruin us." He requested we not contact police for 24 hours, stating he wanted to speak with his crew first, and indicated he had a good idea who may have been responsible based on issues that person had "when he was young." We honored his request. The items were not returned. My wife spoke with Mr. Saunders separately and independently, and his statements to her were consistent with what he told me. Mr. Saunders later disputed making those earlier statements. A police report has been filed. The investigation is active.

Prior to storage, we elected full coverage insurance and were assured that the company had extensive experience handling and storing antique and high-value furniture for our sizable amount of belongings in a 6k square foot home. Upon delivery, we discovered that the majority of our items were severely broken or damaged, and nearly all were affected by what appeared to be mold or mildew. Moisture readings on our antique furniture measured approximately 60%, and in some cases, moving blankets had adhered to the surfaces. All of this damage was witnessed and assessed by not only their moving team but a manager they sent out to our home the following day who was in complete shock at the staggering amount of damage. After Sandhills filed our insurance claim, for our elected full insurance, we learned from the insurance carrier that the required paperwork was not fulfilled by Sandhills despite being required under their own policy. This administrative oversight voided our full coverage protection and reduced our compensation to $2.50 per pound, which is far below the replacement value of the affected items. When we initially raised this issue, a manager, Pat, assured us it would be corrected, but subsequent calls were not returned, and our attempts to follow up have been unsuccessful. Pat refuses to speak to us and the secretary hung up on us. All of these conversations have been recorded and we have proof of all statements made by the insurance, Sandhills, their movers, managers, and any/all parties involved because NC is a one party consent to record. My husband and I are both 100% disabled Army veterans with four children, one of whom has a severe disability and Sandhills was abundantly aware of this. Following the delivery, our family has experienced health issues consistent with mold exposure. A licensed mold specialist advised us to seal off all affected items to prevent contamination of our newly renovated home, leaving a significant amount of our belongings to include all major furniture such as living room furniture, bedroom sets, mattresses, and dining room furniture unusable. This situation has caused substantial financial, logistical, emotional, and health challenges for our family. While we understand that mistakes can occur, we are shocked that there has been no meaningful resolution or constructive communication to address the matter and ZERO accountability. I tried to contact the owner Jason Birdsall via phone, email, and his Facebook with no response. We hope that by sharing our experience, others will have the information needed to make an informed decision to look elsewhere during a move or storage need. We are now being forced to pay for a lawyer to seek legal representation in this matter. No family should ever have to suffer like this.

What is Yelp's for if we can't submit a 100% true review. So, here you go.... Owner of Liberty Moves, Landon Rozier was found AT FAULT and ordered to pay for my repairs!!!! Even though my issue has been resolved, I will say it again...DO NOT HIRE LIBERTY MOVES!!!! I will NEVER recommend this moving company to anyone. Leading up to a final resolution, I feel Landon was very unprofessional and disrespectful based on his text message responses (I have all messages saved) about what he wasn't going to pay for. Going forward Landon, please treat your clients/customers better than you treated me. Or better yet, don't damage their property. Everything I notated, was true. I should've reviewed Better Business Bureau's website before hiring Liberty Moves. Meaning of slander: "the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation".
