And they were very affordable. They replaced two sections of our driveway that had broken up over the decades. The older gentleman was an absolute artist with the wet cement! They also repointed some brickwork, and were very, very precise and careful about keeping excess mortar off of other parts of our house. We will absolutely, without a doubt, use them again and again. They are "old school" and contemporary in their approach to any issues including structural damage, rotten wood, decaying piers and other challenges. They are well known in the Garden District, French Quarter, and throughout the city. The team was respectful and willing to explain any procedure used. The sad bit is I won't be seeing them every day. They've just finished doing major repairs on my front porch, siding and ceilings. Until they started the repairs (caused by termite and water damage I didn't know I had), my porch had been held up by the hand of God. Then He handed it over to the Dynamic Duo to fix. It was almost a shame to put the siding back on over the studs and insulation because Lauricella and Son are seasoned craftsmen of the highest order. Oh, and my beautiful put-back-together-again, re-beautified front door! I could digress and go on about how delightful David and Dave are, or how they go out of their way to do what you want done, or how I gave them a key to my now beautiful front door when I was out of town, or how I never had to sweep up after them. I can not comment on the quality of the work they do because the job was never completed as the frustration with the process it took to get to job completion took far more work than i would have thought necessary on my end so i requested my deposit back. I was initially told that they would be out on a Thursday but they were a no show. I called them late that afternoon and was told they were delayed due to rain on another job, which is understandable, but i asked why i was not called and they said they sent me a text, then i informed them that i told the contractor i don't have text, i have a land line, so they took note of that. Later that evening i was called and told they would be out Friday afternoon, but if they don't make it, they will be out Saturday. Well, again, both days were no shows and no calls. I called them on Monday morning and was told they would be out possibly Monday afternoon but more then likely on Tuesday. Well, no show on Monday so i called them the first thing on Tuesday morning to make sure they were actually coming and the secretary told me i was on the list but she would have to text the crew to see if they were going to get to me and that she would call me back. Well, she never called back so at 1 pm on Thursday i called and asked for a refund on my deposit. Simply put... If you have a life or a job, and can't sit at home for multiple days in hopes they might actually show up and or don't have the time to continually call them, getting an AI receptionist most of the time, to get updates on if or when they will show up to do the job, i would definitely go with one of the many other companies.
