Gyros dinner with rice and salad.
Joe B.

Our neighbors recently mentioned this place. Since we were nearby at a doctors we decided to come here for an early dinner. We were cheerily greeted by a server who presented us with a menu. To be honest it's not a lengthy menu, however, the food we had (gyros) was very filling and very good. And for the portions they give you it's quite reasonable. Had we come on Friday they serve a buffet meal at both lunch and dinner. We will have to come back on Friday to sample the menu.

Single Kabob (2), Hummus, Side Greek Salad, pita bread

I got 2 single chicken kabobs, unfortunately they were too charred for me to enjoy. But the hummus is alright it's a little on the tangy side if that's your jam. I got side Greek salad too - very good. I'll definitely be ordering again to try their shawarma.

Gyro and side Greek salad were excellent! Fast service and food was great. Atmosphere is ok but makes you feel like in a family place. Will return!

This is a cute little Mediterranean spot. The food was really fresh. Our server was very helpful with her knowledge of the menu. We were a little sad that while they do have American coffee on the menu they do not serve it. Instead we got an Arabic drip coffee which was very yummy. If you've never had it before it's worth a try. It's naturally sweet which is great because they don't have creamer.

We had a really yummy dinner here. I've had my eye on this place for a while, since it's pretty close to the airport. We had a flight to catch and we timed it out so we could have some dinner here. My husband is a coffee snob, and ever since he tried Turkish coffee he always makes it a point to order it if it's on the menu. He really loved the coffee here, and it was very delicately presented. For my entree I got the Kalaya, wanting to try something new. It was really good, I just wish it had a little more beef. My husband felt the same way about his kebabs. The locale itself isn't the nicest, but that's not a bad thing! These places where the interior and exterior are unassuming always have the best food. The staff was also lovely and made sure we got out in time to make our flight. Overall we had a really good experience, and I'd love to try other menu items on my next visit.

FRESHEST MOST FLAVORFUL MEDITERRANEAN FOOD IVE EVER TRIED. Been eating here for about 3 years and the quality is always on point. Kalaya, Chicken Shawarma, and the grilled veggies are my fave!

I have driven past Mirage on Preston Highway a dozen times over the years and finally had my chance to try it this week with co-workers since we had an event at a hotel nearby. We are all fans of Greek food and Mirage did not disappoint. We had quick and friendly service with a fantastic lunch spread. We tried a little bit of everything--hummus with hot pita bread, baba ghanoush, chicken Shawarma, falafel. All tasted fresh and delicious.

My mom and I stopped in here on a Saturday. We shared a meal which was plenty of food. Service was quick and friendly. We will be back. They have both outside and inside seating. Parking can be a bit challenging when they are busy. They also have lots of desserts too! Too bad they weren't gluten free.

The Mirage recommended by friends who leave in the area and it lives up to the recommendation! The food and service were excellent. The restaurant is understated, but inviting. The menus has lots of traditional Mediterranean offerings; only non-alcoholic beverages. There's plenty salad choices as well as some vegetarian. The portions are above average. We love to enjoy them for next day lunch; the seasoning gets even better overnight. The hours are a bit different than most restaurants; Sunday close is 7:00PM; weekday close 8:30PM. It's a great choice when you are looking for something "different" and maybe even healthier.

Lamb on the gyros? I understand another Greek restaurant doesn't even put taziki sauce on their gyros. Does Mirage?

Nope, Mirage does not put Taziki Sauce on their gyros. However they offer it on the side.

5+ Absolutely superb experience…read more Walked in and owner was working the front counter, I love that. Told him we were new and to fix us up so we can sample everything. Here's what we got. Wifey got the Swarma which is a generous portion of grilled chicken, spiced to perfection, on a bed of basmati rice. Came with a cucumber salad side and tazini sauce. Serving was large and came piping hot to the table. I received the half chicken grilled perfectly on charcoal with crispy skin which was delicious. French fries and humus were my sides. Fries were super hot and crispy. Humus was dressed with olive oil and a few chick peas. We got a side of pita bread drizzled with flavored olive oil. We also enjoyed a flavorful hot sauce that came with the meals. The place has in door and outdoor seating. About 6 tables in each space. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. Highly recommend without reservations. Would return in an instant. Owner checked on us several times as we ate.

Indoor and outdoor seating. Attentive staff. Fresh food! I saw halloumi on the menu so that was our appetizer. It came with pita, tomatoes, and cucumbers. It was perfection! When they brought it out, they also brought us a bowl of salad. We're not entirely sure if one of our meals came with a salad(probably weren't paying attention) and we weren't in a salad mood. We each took one bite of the salad and almost fought over it lol. We licked the bowl clean. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! My wife ordered the salmon. It came with veggies and rice. She loved it! It definitely filled her up and since we were taking a cruise, it felt ideal to eat fish. I went with the steak shawarma. I wanted something a bit lighter since we were going to be out most of the evening. It was perfect too! I opted for rice as my side and that's probably the only thing I messed up on. There's generally not a thing as too much rice but it was nearly a plate full. Once I ran out of steak, there's no way I could've scarfed the rest of that rice down. I was stuffed in the best way. Once we finished, I went up to pay. The guy(I assume the owner) asked how things were and of course I replied amazing! Every single thing we had here was fresh! My only regret honestly is that I hadn't been to this place until now. It's certainly the best Mediterranean food I've had in the area. We plan to come back!

Mostly due to the fact that I'm not from New Albany and just so happened to be working on a project around the corner.. Anywho... Long story short... They had Gyros.... Ohhhh Myyyy Goodness.... And they did it Just Right... I can tell the meat was shaved (as it should be) and not pre cut and packaged (as it shouldn't be).. and the freshness and flavor was ALL there... oh and the seasoned fries complimented my sandwich perfectly. Intimate room, excellent menu, top notch service!…read more The room is dark, surprisingly intimate for as open as it is. Low ceilings and servers clad in black add to the effect of a candle-lit cask of a restaurant. The smells wafting from the kitchen immediately get your appetite revving if it wasn't already in gear. Out host, Mary, sat our party quickly and the server came right away to fill waters and take drink orders. The menu is short but superb. Everything has a Mediterranean flair that should make you expect savory mess and spice. Prices are in the $40-60 range for entrees but worth it! Parking is free in the lot and a QR code on the menu gives you access to enter your info including plate number. It's a nice feature for an area where spots are limited.

I was hosting a business dinner in Louisville last week and wanted to try someplace new. I scanned…read morethe list of James Beard 2025 semifinalists and focused on two spots: MeeshMeesh and The Fat Lamb. MeeshMeesh is wildly popular and books out 60 days in advance, so that wasn't happening--but I was able to secure a timely reservation at The Fat Lamb. That turned out to be a great decision. It was a pleasure meeting Dallas McGarity, the executive chef and owner. He shared that the restaurant has been open for about ten years and that he's preparing to open a new Italian concept. When the topic of his James Beard nomination came up, he mentioned it was a complete surprise--the restaurant didn't self-nominate--which made the recognition feel even more meaningful. One thing I neglected to ask him directly was why lamb plays such a central role on the menu. Our server wasn't entirely sure either, but she did explain how the restaurant got its name. Apparently, Dallas was traveling through the countryside, spotted a particularly memorable "fat lamb" on a farm, and the name stuck. Sometimes it really is that simple. With four of us dining, we may have gone a bit overboard on starters--but no regrets. We shared the roasted Brussels sprouts, lamb kofta meatballs, fontina and truffle arancini, and the whipped feta and pita. Every dish was well-executed and easy to share, which made them ideal for a business dinner. For entrées, my wife and I split the signature tandoori and ancho spice-roasted lamb chops. They were flavorful without being heavy, and the black barbecue sauce added a nice depth. Our server highly recommended the Moroccan-spiced halibut, which our other guests shared and thoroughly enjoyed--especially the mushroom demi-glace. Dessert was the Nutella mousse, another house signature. The Italian cherries and chocolate shavings were a great finishing touch without pushing things into overly sweet territory. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing. The evening flowed naturally--never rushed, never dragging--which is exactly what you want when entertaining clients or colleagues. The Fat Lamb delivered a memorable, well-rounded dining experience and easily earned its reputation. I'd happily return, whether for business or just a great night out.
