Gyros dinner with rice and salad.
    Joe B.

Our neighbors recently mentioned this place. Since we were nearby at a doctors we decided to come here for an early dinner. We were cheerily greeted by a server who presented us with a menu. To be honest it's not a lengthy menu, however, the food we had (gyros) was very filling and very good. And for the portions they give you it's quite reasonable. Had we come on Friday they serve a buffet meal at both lunch and dinner. We will have to come back on Friday to sample the menu.

Single Kabob (2), Hummus, Side Greek Salad, pita bread

I got 2 single chicken kabobs, unfortunately they were too charred for me to enjoy. But the hummus is alright it's a little on the tangy side if that's your jam. I got side Greek salad too - very good. I'll definitely be ordering again to try their shawarma.

Gyro and side Greek salad were excellent! Fast service and food was great. Atmosphere is ok but makes you feel like in a family place. Will return!

This is a cute little Mediterranean spot. The food was really fresh. Our server was very helpful with her knowledge of the menu. We were a little sad that while they do have American coffee on the menu they do not serve it. Instead we got an Arabic drip coffee which was very yummy. If you've never had it before it's worth a try. It's naturally sweet which is great because they don't have creamer.

We had a really yummy dinner here. I've had my eye on this place for a while, since it's pretty close to the airport. We had a flight to catch and we timed it out so we could have some dinner here. My husband is a coffee snob, and ever since he tried Turkish coffee he always makes it a point to order it if it's on the menu. He really loved the coffee here, and it was very delicately presented. For my entree I got the Kalaya, wanting to try something new. It was really good, I just wish it had a little more beef. My husband felt the same way about his kebabs. The locale itself isn't the nicest, but that's not a bad thing! These places where the interior and exterior are unassuming always have the best food. The staff was also lovely and made sure we got out in time to make our flight. Overall we had a really good experience, and I'd love to try other menu items on my next visit.

FRESHEST MOST FLAVORFUL MEDITERRANEAN FOOD IVE EVER TRIED. Been eating here for about 3 years and the quality is always on point. Kalaya, Chicken Shawarma, and the grilled veggies are my fave!

I have driven past Mirage on Preston Highway a dozen times over the years and finally had my chance to try it this week with co-workers since we had an event at a hotel nearby. We are all fans of Greek food and Mirage did not disappoint. We had quick and friendly service with a fantastic lunch spread. We tried a little bit of everything--hummus with hot pita bread, baba ghanoush, chicken Shawarma, falafel. All tasted fresh and delicious.

My mom and I stopped in here on a Saturday. We shared a meal which was plenty of food. Service was quick and friendly. We will be back. They have both outside and inside seating. Parking can be a bit challenging when they are busy. They also have lots of desserts too! Too bad they weren't gluten free.

The Mirage recommended by friends who leave in the area and it lives up to the recommendation! The food and service were excellent. The restaurant is understated, but inviting. The menus has lots of traditional Mediterranean offerings; only non-alcoholic beverages. There's plenty salad choices as well as some vegetarian. The portions are above average. We love to enjoy them for next day lunch; the seasoning gets even better overnight. The hours are a bit different than most restaurants; Sunday close is 7:00PM; weekday close 8:30PM. It's a great choice when you are looking for something "different" and maybe even healthier.

Lamb on the gyros? I understand another Greek restaurant doesn't even put taziki sauce on their gyros. Does Mirage?

Nope, Mirage does not put Taziki Sauce on their gyros. However they offer it on the side.

We waited 30 minutes past our 9:15 reservation to be seated because we were told the previous reservation would not leave. We had to ask the hostess twice before our table was ready. Once seated, we felt rushed to order. The salatim wasn't replenished until we had nearly finished our entrées. When we asked for more pita with our mains after receiving side orders of hummus, we were asked how many individual pieces we wanted. None of us received the rice that comes with our mains, and when we asked our server just agreed but it was never brought out. My fries were also forgotten and by the time I asked I was told the kitchen had already closed so I couldn't get them. They kindly removed the fries from my bill and gave me a complimentary dessert. Our empty glasses also remained on the table for the entirety of the dinner. At the end of the meal, we all requested separate checks, but three of them were incorrect and had to be fixed. As we were leaving, we could hear the employees cheering because we had left. We greatly appreciated the discount our group received. The food was excellent, but for such an exclusive restaurant we expected a better dining experience.

And the basic dishes were the most surprising. We can't stop thinking about the tomatoes and stone fruit - how can a few ingredients we eat so often have such complexity and taste beyond any prior experience? It's infuriating. Also the rice - of the hundreds of rices we've had this is by far the best. Rice! Service was exceptional as well. Our servers Celeste and Ollie (Ali?) were knowledgeable, welcoming, and efficient. Hostess Isabelle was our hero. We were in Louisville only for 12hrs so did not have a reservation but nicely begged her and she was eventually able to fit us in late on a Sunday. We are not Tom Colicchio and Padma Lakshmi, but we've had many phenomenal meals throughout the world and this one is going to be memorable. We couldn't decide what to order, so we ended up trying a little bit of everything. The tabbouleh, hummus, falafel, and spinach pie were all fantastic. Every single side was fresh and packed with flavor. The sauces deserve their own shoutout. I would happily take home a gallon of the garlic sauce, and the tzatziki was just as addictive. My husband ordered the Mediterranean salad, and my daughter and I shared the kids' shawarma plate. The salad was massive with a beautiful variety of fresh vegetables. The beef shawarma was incredibly tender, and the basmati rice was perfectly cooked. One thing that really stood out to me was the hospitality. While we were there, a family came in just before closing and asked if they could still be served. Without hesitation, the staff welcomed them in and accommodated them with such kindness. It felt less like a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's home. You can tell there's real care behind every ingredient and every interaction. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and homemade. It left us feeling satisfied without feeling heavy, which isn't always easy to find when eating out. Safier is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. We'll definitely be back.

I ordered the shrimp and grits, and without exaggeration, they were the best I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the balance of textures throughout the dish was incredible. Every bite had the perfect amount of crunch, flavor, and toppings. Nothing felt overwhelming or out of place. It was one of those meals where you find yourself slowing down just to enjoy every bite. Even the water deserves a mention. It was clean, crisp, and refreshing. If it came straight from the tap, I would have never known. It's a small detail, but it speaks to the overall dining experience when even something as simple as water stands out. The service was great, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to accessibility. As a person with a disability, parking can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, there was no handicap parking available, and there were no nearby parking spots open when I arrived. I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.
