I love that Miramar has an extensive collection of cultural events that they put on. I went here for an artist meet and greet and it was truly amazing. The art was beautiful and the panel discussion was enlightening. I enjoyed the notes and beverages, just the right personal touch from the wait staff to make you feel warm and welcoming. read more

So many great shows and expos are held here and the setting is actually really nice! It's located in the same plaza as Miramar city hall and it has its own parking garage and a nice courtyard in the center. It's clean and the staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable. The miramar cultural center always hosts wonderful events. A few months ago I took their creole class every Saturday for 5 weeks. At the end of the 5 weeks they held a graduation for all the students. The commissioner Yvonne came to give us a heartfelt speech while all of our names were individually called to receive a certificate. Afterwards, we ate Haitian food that was catered for us. It was a beautiful cultural event. I also went to the food and wine festival with my mom a few weeks ago. There were a lot of vendors with beautiful art and tasty food. The music was good and a lot of people came out to support. The most recent event that I went to was the one mile race on Saturday morning. It was really fun running through the neighborhood as a group. Getting a medal at the end felt like a nice achievement and a great way to start the weekend! It was also a good start to prepare for the Miami half marathon again. I love the events that the cultural center puts together! I can't wait for the next one! read more

Built in 2008 and adjacent to city hall sits the 42,162 square foot Miramar Cultural Center. It is is located at the Southeast corner of the Flamingo Road/Red Road connector and Miramar Boulevard. The purpose of the cultural arts center is to provide cultural programs by professional artists for all ages and members of the community. The center is part of the 54 acre Town City parcel. The cultural center anchors the 15 acre Town Center which contains residences, restaurants and shopping. The cultural center is an ArtsPark, a place people can come to experience performing, visual and literary arts in a park like setting. The ArtsPark includes classrooms and workshop space, as well as exhibit and performance spaces and cultural programming by professional artists for free and low cost events so that the community can experience the arts. The Cultural Arts Center consists of an 814 seat performing arts theater, recital room, banquet halls capable of seating five hundred people, two art galleries, a full kitchen, and music, dance and arts/crafts classrooms.Outside is an amphitheater and a botanical and sculpture garden. The architects for this project was Cartaya & Associates and I think they did an amazing job. They created a place where you an live, catch a show, eat, and shop without having to get into your car and drive anywhere. On top of that it is absolutely beautiful. My review is just on the building from the outside as it was shut when I visited. See some information below, that I found out about it. The development of the Miramar Cultural Center - ArtsPark resulted in a significant contribution to the cultural development of southwest Broward County by allowing the City to celebrate its rich cultural diversity through a variety of programs and activities. This facility sits adjacent to City Hall and the Civic Plaza. It encompasses 47,000 square feet, which includes an 800+ seat theatre, art gallery, multi-purpose rooms, banquet hall, botanical garden, recital/rehearsal spaces, classrooms, meeting rooms, full-service kitchen, and administrative offices. The project also includes a public art water feature known as 'Vanishing View', which was designed by international artist Alison Sky. The project was completed in December 2008 and was partially funded by a $2.1 million grant from Broward County, as well as a State of Florida $500,000 Cultural Facilities Grant. read more

Why didn't anyone tell me about this!!! The Miramar Cultural Center and ArtsPark wowed me this weekend, and not just because of the beautiful lighting display! This center for the performing, visual and literary arts is a splendid venue offering cultural programming by artists to the community at large. We gathered here for my niece's dance academy's Holiday Show. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the theatre, much smaller than other venues in the county, but just as accommodating. The orchestra pit isn't a pit. It's just a space between the stage and the first row (center). The musicians seemed cozily tucked in, and played freely and gleefully! The staff at the door and throughout was professional and pleasant, and the restrooms and hallways were clean. This cultural center is adjacent City Hall and the Development Services building. There are luxury condos. and small boutique-style businesses that surround it. And there is more than meets the eye, with a theatre, banquet hall, dance studio, classrooms, botanical garden, and art gallery; providing features, such as state-of-the-art lighting and sound, on-site catering, and free parking. If I could leave a negative 1,000 I would!! My son and his boyfriend experienced discrimination and harassment because of sexual orientation from a security guard and the director in charge of the facility during the weekend of a dance competition March 25-27, 2023 . It is direct discrimination to treat you less favourably because of your sexual orientation than someone of a different sexual orientation would be treated in the same circumstances. The director in charge also spoke very unprofessionally, rude, and disrepectfully I will never go back to this venue or support it in ANY way!!!!! read more

I attended the Christmas tree lighting which was a joint venture between City of Miramar and the Miramar Cultural Center. It was a festive night to say the least. It was a pleasure watching the children from the Early Childhood Academy Perform Christmas songs. There were lots of activities for the kids. Christmas train ride, bounce house, pictures with Santa, and a Holiday movie on the lawn in front of City Hall. What a way to bring in the holiday. There were also food vendors present like some of which included Hungry Howie's, Grillin and Chillin. It was so beautiful to see the palm trees surrounding the property full of lights with snowflakes and ribbons. I enjoyed the eventful night and am very grateful for the city, for doing this for the community. read more

Located right next to City Hall the Cultural Center was created to celebrate creating and diversity within the city. I had the opportunity to attend Yom Kippur holiday services here a few months ago and I fell in love with this venue. The services were held in the 800 seat theater. Let me start by saying that the seats were very comfortable. If your going to be sitting for two hours, a comfortable seat is definitely a plus. The lighting and sound system were both on point. We sat up front and the sound was not overpowering at all. Actually it was perfect. The theater is perfect to rent for graduations, weddings and corporate events. Botanical Gardens, banquet facilities and art galleries can all be found here. It would be a great place to have a wedding. In my dream, my significant other would propose to me in the Botanical Gardens, and then our wedding will be held here, with the cocktail hour of course being where else but in the gardens. Maybe I'm jumping the gun here because obviously I need to find my significant other first. But a lady can dream right? They offer a Kids Culture Series which is a fun way to introduce children to cultural arts. Alice in Wonderland and The Tortoise and The Hare are coming up and I must admit that I wouldn't mind seeing them again. I guess my inner child wants to come out and play. All shows include an art activity provided by the Young at Art Children's Museum and face painting. These activities start one hour prior to the start of the show. All children's shows are only $15. During the summer the cultural center offers a summer camp program for the kids too. It's not all for the kids because they have several adult shows as well. Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet and Annie are all on the schedule as well as many other shows that look interesting. The Ansin Family Art Gallery provides many art exhibitions throughout the year. I definitely want to return to take a look at the gallery. And yes, I want to come back to speak with the wedding planner to plan my future wedding... read more

If I could give this venue 0 stars I definitely would! A dance competition hosted their competition here over the weekend and the staff of the venue was absolutely disgusting. The attitude the attendants gave to us parents was appalling. Parents spent thousands of dollars for their child to dance at the competition but They blocked the theater doors and forbid parents from entering to see their own child dance due to their lack of being able to accommodate everyone there. Some staff forbid us to cheer for our own children dancing on stage. It was just absolutely horrible. read more

good concerts, great art gallery.. and yearly programs has major acts come through that where the top of the music scene in their day.. the center has seen the likes of the o jays, maxi priest, tone toni tony, Talor Dane, Brian McKnight. and many others... great for when you are feeling nostalgic! They also host productions like Mary Poppins, Ibaila Puerto Rico, Dance theater of Harlem, and a wide array of cultural shows from around the world. They also have spaces available for rent... and an Art Gallery featuring talented local, national, and international artists. I was at this theatre to see the nutcracker. The show was beautifully performed. Loved everything about it! Every seat is a great seat! The theatre is on a smaller scale therefore visualizing the people on the stage is a given. There is no strain on the eye. There is alcohol, soft drinks. And snacks served just as if you were at the broward center. There is plenty of FREE parking at this location. The ticket line went very swiftly. This location is easy to get to and great for anyone! I will definitely be going back in the future for other events. The venue is beautifully set up for the holidays. read more

I love this venue! They have outstanding shows, programs and banquet halls available for rent. I have attended a lot of their performances in the theater and it's always a great time. They also send brochures in the mail to all of the residents in the city. It's super easy to learn about their upcoming programs. read more

I was here for a work based presentation and was impressed with the facility. The space was nicely laid-out and we filled the large auditorium. They set-up the adjoining room with stand-up tables and snacks which was a great waiting area for those of us early to the meeting. The temperature and seating was comfortable considering the large group. My only negative comment is the projected display seemed dark and at times was not as easy to see as I would have liked. I would have liked either a stronger bulb or a brightness adjustment. I'm not sure which was the issue. Sound was very good and all of the speakers and videos were easy to hear. I watched the city of Miramar build this complex and it is very nice. read more

Our little one had her recital here. It was a nice venue and also had mezzanine seating. They served drinks at a small bar for cash. The location was easy to access close to the turnpike. We enjoyed our visit! read more

The staff here doesn't deserve, not even 1 star... they touched my kid while trying to block him from following me in the auditorming. they took their job way to serious and HORRIBLY AT THAT!! when they forgot why everyone was even there from the beginning. They pick and choose who they allow to do what, THEY NEED SOME TRAINING ! Your team is up performing, common sense let them in-- or better yet --they get done performing and come out excited --for pics and videos let them enjoy the moment (again remember what the venue is being used for). Horrible horrible staff, grumpy miserable people. read more

The staff here need to have some training, not only for the position they are holding but when your working at a facility that holds dance competitions please remember why parents are there... keeping them from watching their children dance to yelling at younger ones who are being silly, telling grown folks would you do that at home?? Very nice venue... Went for a wedding and it came out beautiful. The building is beautiful and reminds me of a modern version of the older Coral Gables buildings, with large queen palms surrounding the property as well. There is plenty of parking in front of the building and even with another event going on in the theater there was enough parking. When you walk along the side corridor there is an outdoor seating area next to the building which was pretty. Walk towards the back and you see the unique glass water feature overlooking the lake, a really nice touch that highlights the outdoor area and even lights up at night in different colors. I'm pretty sure this area is considered the botanical garden. The ceremony was held outdoors right in front of the water feature just at sunset and it was spectacular. The cocktail hour was held both indoors and outdoors which was nice for those that don't like the heat. The large restrooms were just inside and were very clean and elegant. The reception was held in the large banquet hall just next to the ceremony site. The hall itself is was tastefully done. It's not over the top but just enough so that you can decorate to your taste and it not be overwhelming. I know the bride and groom were very happy with the venue as they said the staff was friendly and professional. This definitely makes for a beautiful setting for a wedding or any other event for that matter. read more

Miramar Cultural Center is a beautiful Performing Arts center located in Miramar Fla. It offers many dance schools the opportunity to perform in a lovely theater. I had the opportunity to be back stage while my daughters dance school had there performance there an all of their staff members are very professional and helpful. The facility offers spacious dress rehearsal rooms and a charming theater witch host about 800 guests. You will also find private parking and restaurants and shops nearby. I attended several events here including a Maxi Priest concert, Allison Hinds concert, children's plays, and most recently a Tree Lighting Ceremony. Always clean, beautiful and well organized. You can see the area developing into a hot spot for young adults and families. read more
