I think for a place that has free pickles at every table, that was an absolute rip off and I wouldn't recommend ordering that. The sandwiches we ordered don't even come with fries and the fries taste like they had been fried twice, super dry and like they had been recooked or something. My Rueben sandwich had a decent ratio of meat/sauce/sauerkraut but the bread was super soggy. It wasn't a huge issue by itself, but it set the tone for the lack of attention throughout the evening. We ordered smoked Old Fashioneds, and unfortunately they were almost undrinkable. They tasted watered down and were served with a lot of regular ice rather than a large cube, which was surprising for a restaurant at this price point. We then ordered a bottle of wine, only to be told they couldn't find the bottle. The steak was cooked properly, but it lacked the flavor I would expect from a high-end steakhouse. On the positive side, the lobster tail was excellent. The owner or manager also graciously brought us two shrimp, and they were absolutely delicious. Those were easily the highlights of the meal, and we appreciated the gesture. Unfortunately, when you're spending more than $400 with tip for dinner, the entire experience needs to match that price point. Probably the best part of the entire meal and its presentation was fantastic. Followed by the clam chowder. Lobster bisque was pretty bad as was the ceasar salad. Onto the main items. PRIME RIB. Many ordered this but not one person liked or finished theirs. In some cases overly fatty and in others the meat was super chewy and barely flavorful. Most of prime rib from all guests was taken home to feed to the dogs. Fish was a tri-tip, overly salty but also undercooked. Desserts - Have t say the donuts were the clear winner. Key Lime Pie had a gross drizzle of raspberry sauce (While do so many restaurants do this?). Creme de pot, so sweet that your teeth hurt from eating it. Look, if you are going to charge high prices and have a prix fix menu for a special occasion like mother's day or other, then THAT menu of items better be spot on and near perfect.
