I can't really address Kerrin R.'s review because I'm a guy and will never have a dress done at her place (well, I guess never say never!). But, I have had several pairs of jeans and pants altered there, and I've never had a problem. With the jeans, they weren't the absolute best job, but she was very upfront about the technique she was going to use; from a distance, it looks just like the original stitching (and honestly, if someone were examining the stitching from anywhere closer than a distance, the stitching would be the last thing I was worried about). It's a tiny place-- but it gets the job done. The things I've taken to her are designer labels, not some cheap brands... so for what it's worth, I guess it means I trust her! I guess different people have different experiences, but I give this place my stamp of approval. read more

Your comments are probably spot on, but those are for the tailor in the Watch Factory Shops across the way. Unless, your remarks are from a period before 2008, when a different lady occupied Miranda's current location at 9 S. Main Street. Paul's Fine Clothiers in the Watch Factory Shops, will bring clothes to Miranda, when his long time tailor is on vacation in Italy, or he has leather to alter, because he can't or won't work on leather. Most people won't work on leather, mostly because they don't know how, but Miranda will. She can, and has made custom dresses from blank fabrics. read more

Brought a bridesmaid dress here for alterations. Dress was not done a week after the latest date she estimated, and she attempted to push back my appointment day-of because she didn't have the dress done. Hem was cut visibly crooked, which she denied, claiming I was slumping, and I had to argue to have it fixed. I just got it home and looked at the dress in brighter lighting and there is a huge coffee stain across the front of it. Unprofessional atmosphere, strangely dim lighting, disorganized storage system. I am not impressed. Hopefully this giant stain will come out with dry cleaning. read more

I bought a complete suit from zaras in august for a wedding in october and it fit just right but at the time I was a little overweight and decided to get back in shape for the wedding the pants size was 38 waste and now I'm a 32 so I decided to bring the suit to Miranda's and I'm very picky when it comes to close but when I tried the suit on after alteration I was blown away on the wonderful job she did everything fit perfect and just the way I wanted it and the prices are very reasonable too, if your looking for a good tailor this is the place to come ill def. be coming back here for future alterations. Not the most glamorous shop but she's very friendly and efficient. She was able to alter a suit for me on short notice.

I called and made an appointment to have a dress altered, I scheduled it for 230pm. After waiting for 30 minutes outside the tailor shop in the 80 degree weather i decided to give up and leave after she ended up having 4 other people waiting for her to arrive as well. I called and left a message as to where she was and when to expect her (as we made an appointment) I still have yet to hear back from her, 8 days later. Miranda hemmed 2 dresses for me. One was a long dress made out of stretchy material and the other one was a cocktail dress with 2 layers of a metallic material. She did an awesome job on both. I recently brought several pairs of pants to Miranda's Tailoring to have shortened. My 2 sons were leaving for college so timing was an important factor. She shortened 9 pairs of pants for us in 4 days and she charged less than the cleaners we had been using. Her work was perfect. When I picked up the pants I brought more in thinking that I would have to mail them when they were done. When she realized that I was planning to mail them she turned them around in 2 days so they could be ready for my sons to take with them! No extra charge for the rush job. She is also a very lovely women and takes a lot of pride in her work. Would highly recommend her. read more

I took my wedding dress to Miranda's shop it fit prefect she just had to hem it. She had 4 weeks to do my dress and wait till the day before I was leaving to do it. She then tried to hem the dress from the middle of the dress without telling me. When i went to try on my dress it was all messed up in the waist. It was a flared dress so there was fabric bunched up and it was still too long. So 4 days before my wedding I had to take my dress to another tailor get fixed and then re-hemed. It was a mess and would not suggest taking dresses to this tailor shop!!!! read more

Miranda is very skilled at her trade- Just Fantastic! My daughter was getting married and wanted to wear my wedding dress. (Preserved - and stored for 35 years!) It was a white taffeta dress with a cathedral train, long- sleeved, sweet heart neck, lace and beaded bodice with buttons all down the back. Alterations were required for the beaded bodice and lace appliqued long sleeves, as my daughter was a little bigger in the bust than I was. We had a very limited window of time for alterations, since my daughter was out of state with a crazy training schedule. Miranda worked with our crunched timelines, despite her busy workload and knew exactly what to do to at our first meeting/ fitting! She was always pleasant and extremely meticulous with the wedding dress and used great care and diligence when handling it. She treated the dress as if it had been in her own family! Additionally, she modified my veil to my daughter's delight- so her bridal ensemble was complete! Miranda is a lovely lady, has reasonable rates and is a pleasure to work with. read more
