We've always enjoyed Miranda's as a take out spot for a solid cheese pie. Instead of takeout we decided to dine in the restaurant. It was Friday night but around 7:15pm so considerably after the dinner rush. We felt like we were ultimately bothering them by eating in, it wasn't a bad experience but not one that would encourage us to go back nor would we recommend dining in. The cheese pie is as classic as it gets. However, the "Greek" salad is a glorified house salad but with shredded feta. Very bizarre and nothing authentic about the salad, we wouldn't order it again. It's definitely a locals place depending where in town you live, I can see for some it's their Friday night spot but it just felt very inhospitable. read more

The person that took my order was very friendly, answered the questions I had about menu items, and was thorough when repeating my order back for accuracy. Maybe my expectations were too high as I was told how good the place was. And maybe the pizza is, but the food was a let down, I had a bad sense that pulling up at 8:00 on Friday and not musny cars were in the lot was not the best sign upon walking towards the door , looking through the window the staff is seated in a booth having their own dinner . The hostess certainly didn't out do herself by just saying you can sit there or there & just pointed. Of the two options given in a nearly empty dining room one table was right beside the front door. The other had not been cleared from previous diners I will say if you're ok with below average cuisine ,, the portions are large so you get plenty of it The garlic bread was good, but I ordered the baked meatball appetizer and I'm immediately put off by the frozen store bought meatballs My pasta Fagioli was ok, my son thought his soup was from a can ,,, maybe it was The chick park while a generous portion was just ok, fried cheap & baked but was served with very little very bland sauce, which I had to ask for more as the pasta was essentially dry. My son had a very generously sized chicken Marsala which was more of a bland , runny unsavory mushroom water, it had none of the savory marsale wine taste There were a bunch on gnats flying around inside The water served had a hard boiled egg sulfur smell and while we were dining , one of the workers toddlers was running through the dining room making noise . Here's a thought,,, control your child The server, while messy in appearance and in need of a shave, a hairbrush & hint of what an indoor voice is was actually on point with his service One & done for me . I visited this restaurant when I was in town on business and seriously craving some pizza. I got here via an Uber from my hotel and thought I was in the wrong place at first. It is literally a tiny little house. I walked in the front door and was promptly greeted and directed to seat myself. The menu is full of lots of yummy choices! I opted to start with the regular salad with the fried goat cheese medallion which turned out to be the size of a hockey puck! The salad also had orange wedges and Craisins on it which was a perfect pairing with the goat cheese. It was seriously perfect. Next I had the Miranda's choice pizza. So good! The crust was perfect and it had all of my favorite toppings on it. I ordered the small which was big enough to feed three people. I was happy to have some to take back to my hotel for later. What a feast! I paired all of this with two glasses of Pinot noir and the entire bill came to just $40! Seemed like a fantastic deal to me considering the amount of food I got as well as the quality of it. This place was totally worth the schlep in the snow via public transportation. Kind of a hole in the wall and service was pretty unfriendly, but I had no problem with my food and drinks. I got the antipasto and the veal française, neither of which were out of this world, but they were fine. The wine pours were fair in terms of size (no full bar here.) Add this to the list of places I have avoided for years. Except for the street sign, it does not look like a restaurant at all. Just and small, old house in a field outside of town. Most of the times there are few or no no cars in the gravel parking lot, and no sign of life. Always wondered if they are out of business. With only a few reviews on Yelp, and no sign of life, I just kept on driving by. My mistake. Decided to give it a try - still unsure of what to expect. Thought I would find sticky floors and old, run-down furniture. Nope, just the opposite... inside was clean and well kept. Immediately greeted by our waitress and seated in one of the few tables/ booths- it looks at though there are maybe a dozen at most. Drinks brought out promptly and we order our pizza. Menu indicates number of slices in each size s-m-l. Ordered a large for 2 people, and that turned out to be the correct size as slices are thin (12 slices sounds like a lot, but it is just right for two people, or maybe three if you order appetizers). Pizza was thin crust - very similar to Colony in Stamford, but not as oily. Very tasty. Beer and wine prices reasonable as were the food prices. Service was prompt and friendly. They sell themselves short with the subdued street appearance. I really lie this place and will be back to try some of the other menu entries. read more
