We drove by to try on a late Sunday afternoon. I had the lemon cupcake and pistachio cheesecake. I liked the moist yellow batter cupcake. The icing was slightly thick in the top but had a nice lemon flavor. The icing was somewhere between the sugar type icing they have at food lion and a creamy buttercream type. Still it was yummy. We liked the pistachio cheesecake. If you like pistachios, then you must get this. It is definitely a niche flavor but I enjoyed the crust and creamy texture. I'm gonna be real honest.....I ate my sweets before I took a picture their baklava was the best I've ever had. I will be going back and I will try and refrain from diving in before I can get some pics! But everything I have tried has been amazing. Their staff is the best and very patient. I went in the store today to pay for a birthday cake that was ordered over the phone via message. The person at the cash register wanted to see the phone and went through the messages. I told her it was already ordered from Miranda which was absent, the worker asked if I wanted to wait on her with an attitude from the beginning. She did not like the fact that I was mouthy and said I had an attitude. She called Miranda who is the owner and to my surprise she was pointing fingers at me saying I was giving attitude and she was not there to hear the conversation. Who does that as a manager, lady you and your staff need training in customer service. Without customers you have no business to run remember that. You were unprofessional and I will not visit or recommend anyone to your business. You are getting 1 star because there is no option for 0. read more

I am all about supporting local and an advocate for reading reviews. I needed something for my wife's 30th birthday. I called on a Monday, and wanted to pick up the cake on a Wednesday during lunch break. Miranda said, "no problem". There was a review about the strawberry cake with a cheesecake middle section. That's what I went for and requested. When I arrived, the place smelled amazing and was decked out with an array of beautiful baked goods. In the display case was my cake and I was amazed at what she'd done. I was very impressed, to say the least. When my wife saw the cake, she was in awe as well. We had some people over to witness the candle blowout and wish her a happy birthday. Everyone loved and enjoyed the cake. First time I've ever been or herd of this place. I wanted to find a good bakery with great cupcakes. My fav place is Smallcakes which is in Durham but I can't always make it there so I wanted to find somewhere that could come close. Sadly rocky mount does not have a place that can compare to my fav cupcakery. This place is better then what I get at Anne's donuts and the ppl are a lot nicer. The cake was moist and fluffy and not too sweet (which is great) the frosting was ok not the best but certainly not the worst. These are cheaper then what I'm use to paying for a cupcake so that is a plus. But they are good basic flavors. Nothing exceptional but good solid cupcakes. Cake was just as I wanted sent messages through Facebook, Miranda was very easy to work with, I also bought other sweet breads from her store was not disappointed. I called Miranda kind of last minute to see if she could make a birthday cake for my dad. She turned it around in less than 48 hours and it was perfect! I sent her photos of the decorations I wanted via text and she nailed it. An absolutely BEAUTIFUL cake, with the specialty decorations I wanted done to an incredible standard. But the best part is the cake was moist and delicious and everyone said it was the best cake they had ever eaten. I am thrilled to know that we have this kind of high quality bakery in Rocky Mount, and I am so thankful that Miranda was able to pull this off on such short notice. read more

I *was* a regular- never again. I would have been a regular for the next 20 years, but I am fully done with this awful place. I can bake my own cakes and a lot of other places serve ice cream. It's never one thing that turns me off from a business, it's usually several things that add up: 1) not getting served for 15 minutes when no other customers are there but 5 employees are milking about...ok, no biggie, things happen.... 2) I got two scoops- my ice cream was freezer burned- VERY much so, inedible so. When I notified them, the owner tried it and said it "tasted fine" to her although she also said she hated ice cream and actually made a prominent wincing face when eating it- that's not "fine" to you, lady. Seriously, the ice cream tasted like chalk, yuk. 3) I was asked by the employee serving us if I wanted it, I said no, tossed out the burned ice cream scoop (of two) and went to pay- she didn't take off my ticket for the scoop, even though she was the one who asked me if I wanted it. It was a dollar, so no big deal, but it's the principal of the thing. I just paid for it because I was feeling pretty done with this place... 4) I left with my one scoop, having been insulted by the owner (nothing about this experience was "fine"), and then come to find the cone is entirely stale and my second kind of ice cream was less freezer burned, but still, freezer burned- I threw the whole thing away. 5) getting ice cream is supposed to be an easy, fun, stress free experience and it stunk. The product was bad and stale, the service was rude and slow, and no one had enough hospitality to try to make it right. Taking my money elsewhere. read more
