I may not be Cinderella but Carolina sure feels like my fairy godmother with how she saved my fit for my best friend's wedding in a pinch. This past weekend I was trying on the dress I got for my best friend's welcome party for her destination wedding. The zipper got stuck, then it broke, and my panic for having a new dress for this occasion in under a week set in. I used Yelp assistant to put in a request to local alterations spots and let them know I had a broken zipper off the track of a formal dress and I needed it fixed before Tuesday. This request was sent on a Saturday afternoon, so to be honest I was not very hopeful of any replies but Carolina replied right away. Her studio is right by my apartment so she told me to take my dress in right then to see if it could be fixed. She fixed the zipper on the spot, and when we actually tried on the dress we realized that I did not fit. Welcome to my nightmare. She had the brilliant idea to alter the dress and add fabric on the sides to give me the inches I needed. The result is essentially a custom dress that I am obsessed with, and at a great price. I am definitely going to keep Carolina on speed dial for any of my alterations needs as she is super sweet, detail oriented, and very well priced. I bought my wedding dress this past January and instantly fell in love with it the moment I tried it on. Only problem was how incredibly long it was! if you want someone talented and sweet and who takes pride in their work and is determined about getting you the results YOU want, USE CAROLINA!! i have had many tailors over the years because i am very particular about how my clothes fit, and carolina is by far the best person i've had alter my clothes. i started to get tired of people rushing me and being rude and not caring about the quality of their work, and so i started searching for someone better and that's how i found carolina. she takes her time and makes sure she perfectly understands exactly what you want, and she takes her time writing notes and taking extra measurements so that she will not forget anything and she'll know exactly what to do. we even have a language barrier, but she always has her translator ready and is patient to make sure everything is communicated and understood. she explains what she will have to do and makes sure you're okay with all of it. when you come to pick them up she is happy to have you try them on and make sure everything is how you want it. i have had tailors in the past act judgmental and conservative towards me for how i want my clothes to fit (short and tight), but carolina is the best. i've had her alter a pair micro-shorts with my butt hanging out and it doesn't phase her at all hahaha. i won't go to anyone else because i know no matter what i can trust her to be careful and to do a good job and that i will be treated so kindly. i have taken expensive clothes to her and also cheap clothes, and she knows how to work well with both. you can trust her with your clothes!! read more
