The reason for my visit was for spasms in both my legs, ankles and feet. I spent an hour with Dr. Scopelliti and he did countless tests to discover issues that I had and some I did not know I had , balance being one of them. I happened to be visiting for the week, and it was very frustrating for me that every office he was referred to did not have any appointments for two months. I spoke to his chiropractor, who is a family friend, and he stressed the fact that waiting two months was not acceptable. My father is hard of hearing, and not really savvy on social media. Since YELP is my go to for everything, I decided to research other offices and see if I could find him an appointment much sooner. Being in the dental industry, it is very important for me to read credentials and reviews from patients. I was very impressed with Dr. Scopelliti's back ground, so with fingers crossed, I made the call. Ladies and gentlemen, I felt like I was reaching out to an old friend. Debbie was so kind and understanding! Having an aging parent can be very challenging, but she was very patient as my dad chimed in his two cents from the background. She was able to get my father an appointment in four days. We chatted for a bit about what it is like to be a patient provider. She told me about the doctor, and the one on one experience he provides. I sent her dad's insurance information, and she was kind enough to reach out within the hour to explain about his patient portion. I was really looking forward to meeting the team, but circumstances came up and I sent my mom. I wanted her to be able to understand what the Dr. was diagnosing, and due to HIPPA regulations, I wanted her to be able to have future discussions if need be. When they came home, Dad gave rave reviews about Dr. S. He treated him for a full hour, had strict Covid guidelines, and dad had a better understanding about what was happening to his body. I am so very thankful for these people. In this time of uncertainty, you think the worst outcome possible. Dad was convinced he had one foot in the grave, and was discussing his burial wishes. I told him only the good die young, and he has plenty of years left! We have a little work to do to get him on the mend, but thanks to Dr. S and his extremely thorough exam....there will be many more visits with my family. When it was time to see their prescribers, one spent 5 minutes, wrote my usual meds and told me she was leaving their anyway. She treated me like a drug addict! Let's not get it wrong, I am a drug addict, with 5 years clean this Sunday which I got clean by choice. I see an amazing addiction specialist, who drug tests every visit. (Who said I should see myself not on my meds, I'm a disaster). Sent to another prescriber who said zoloft doesn't cause weight gain ( which all anti depressants do) and someone even with 7 separate diagnoses shouldn't be medicated round the clock. This crazy chic wanted to start experimenting again! Im a single mom with 4 kids! Wtf? Where did they get their degrees? The director of the program was completely useless even after numerous phone calls, 2 were reassuring the rest pointless! From checking in until checking out everybody has been extremely professional and nice to myself. In addition the clinician i see ( I don't know if I am able to mention names) but she is excellent and I still continue to see her to this day. The wait time is minimal and she is genuine and cares about our sessions. I also just recently met with Dr.V yesterday and I have to say he was such a pleasant man to meet with. He knows what he is doing and has a sense of humor and a warm welcoming feeling. I would definitely recommend coming to the facility and I have to some people! I really appreciate Dr. Mahmud S..'s care in empowering me with care choices. I felt heard and seen by her. I am very impressed with her expertise, empathy and ability to communicate in simple terms. She's a godsent in the coordination of my care. I walked out of my appointment feeling empowered to make the right decision for my care and not simply overwhelmed with a list of medication. I use to avoid my visits there 7/8 years ago. The institute has the care part of it down and now, they need to put in some work on updating the website and allow patient to interface (appointments, quick questions to nurses and doctors) better on the website. The office experience is certainly different from pre-pandemic era or 4 years ago. The nurses are more courteous and attentive. Kudos to the staff and others for turning things around. I literally called a dozen times to leave a message for her and her assistant to call me back for scheduling. Seriously like once per week for a few months before giving up. Next the attitude of the receptionists could be better, they aren't the worst but far from the best. Patient Abandonment by Neurosurgeon at Critical Moment…read more Dr. Goldberg evaluated my 82-year-old mother at Englewood Hospital for progressive spinal stenosis with severe neurological symptoms. Dr. Goldberg stated he would not perform surgery at Englewood Hospital due to concerns about post-surgical complications and the hospital's inability to handle them. Dr. Goldberg stated he would sign transfer paperwork anywhere, at any time, by anyone who asks to help facilitate transfer to a specialty care hospital. Then Dr. Goldberg disappeared. No explanation. No communication. No reassignment to another neurosurgeon. I contacted Dr. Goldberg's office requesting he follow through on his commitment. No response. My mother is now mostly wheelchair-bound with urinary retention and inability to move her bowels. She continues to deteriorate by the day. She is currently hospitalized with an unknown outcome. This could have potentially been reversed if Dr. Goldberg had not abandoned her at her most vulnerable time of need. This is patient abandonment. Dr. Goldberg, at my mother's most vulnerable time of need: will you help, or will you abandon her again? If you cannot trust a doctor to follow through on facilitating the care they themselves recommended, how can you possibly trust them to handle post-operative complications?
