Had dinner with my family at Mirna's Cafe in Blue Bell last Saturday. I ordered the veal chop. It was to dye for! Cooked to perfection! The portion was robust! This is a restaurant where you'll never leave hungry! My kids had a generous portion of kale and cheese ravioli and my wife had the soft shelled crabs. She said they were out of this world! The service was also beyond comparison! Kelly was our server. Her service was spectacular! She was attentive and saw to the table's every need. She knee the menu and was able to make some excellent recommendations. It didn't hurt that she was also a cute redhead! I would recommend Mirna's everyone! My new favorite spot! read more

This is a beautiful place with above average food. The problem is the staff. I cannot remember a time when I have seen so many stressed and angry looking staff. The owner or manager kept rushing through the very small restaurant - without any apparent reason. The rest of the staff also rushed around, creating a tense and hostile atmosphere. The waitperson was not friendly or helpful at all. I don't understand how the owner can think that this behavior is appropriate in a restaurant. I just had my sons baptism reception here and everything was great. They helped me plan the menu and had very reasonable prices. We had over 60 people and did a wonderful job even for the few that arrived after dinner was over to accommodate them getting a meal. The portion sizes were large that many even had some to take home. Everyone talked about how the food was great and not one person left hungry! It is a BYOB and I was able to drop all the beverages off the day before and they had the wine and beer chilled and ready to go. They were attentive to all beverages and even cut and served the cake to everyone. We will have events here in the future for sure! read more

Mirna's Cafe in Blue Bell catered the Wissahickon Girls Basketball Banquet at the high school last week. The food was outstanding. Everyone loved the mediterranian grilled vegetables, ceasar salad, chicken piccante, meatballs and penne with pink vodka sauce. And the portions were so generous, leftovers were enjoyed by many! We hosted a baby shower here and had the best time. The food was great and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They made everything as easy as could be. I would recommend this restaurant for any event that you have (baby shower, wedding shower, birthday celebration etc). read more

Poor service. The wait staff looked miserable, which makes me wonder if they are they treated poorly by the owners?? I'm a big fan of seafood, so i ordered calamari and fish entree. While the calamari was good, the fish and clams were NOT fresh. When i complained to the waiter, he spoke to the chef and ensure me that seafood was fresh. Which was a big lie. I will never go there again. I'm surprised this place can pass any food safety controls. read more

I went to Mirna's last Saturday night and it was honestly the best dinning experience I've had at a restaurant in a long time. The service was amazing and the food was even better. The grilled calamari and the mediterranean combo were out of this world and definitely recommend these appetizers to anyone that comes to Mirna's. My family got salads complementary on the house and the meal portions were very large. Definitely coming here again and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an amazing experience. read more

OMG!!! So horrible, went there tonight for valentines day. The lump crabmeat app was basically a cold soggy spinach roll. I got the seafood trio and it came our freezing cold. I never send food back so I ate rubbery scallops, tiny shrimp and didn't touch the crab cake that was mostly cold spinach. The service was actually decent, the food was HORRIBLE! Just had a baby shower this past weekend for approx. 30 guests. Food was excellent, but doesn't make up for other problems. Because the room was very small, I asked for simple adjustments to table set up and was made to feel uncomfortable for asking and questioned why. Guests were not offered soda and iced tea, which was included in price. (Unfortunately I didn't realize it until coffee was brought out.) Guests were supposed to have choice of Caesar or Mixed Salad, but all were served a mixed salad. Also part of cost was "Fruit" with dessert. "Fruit" was a sliver of cantelope and a slice of orange with a dollop of whipped cream, more like a garnish. When I talked to Myrna's, they agreed drinks should have been offered, but did not offer any refund. I felt they were not easy to work with and won't be back again. read more

I absolutelyyy LOVE Mirna's cafe. The service and food are ALWAYYS amazing!! I was just there tonight and loved every minute! My family and I typically go at least once a month. They even make my dad his own special meal of calamari and spaghetti. All you have to do is ask!!! I had dinner here with my sisters. We started out with the Mediterranean combo with humus, baba ghanoush, grilled mushrooms and peppers and feta. It was served with flat bread. It was wonderful, I could have eaten the whole thing myself as my dinner. one of my sisters had the seafood trio, she had it before and loved it and was happy with it again. another sister really liked her vodka penne. other sister and I both had the filet mignon, she said hers was slightly over done but still very good. mine was perfect,it came with mashed potatoes and a wonderful sauce topped with a perfectly cooked shrimp. Nice touch! They brought us a plate of grilled vegetables with our dinner. and also complementary ceaser salads. we all had a great time thanks to the friendly staff. next time I will come here with my hubby. read more

One of the best byob 's in the area. Lovely atmosphere of fine dining while still accomplishing a laid back atmosphere. The food is always amazing, the wait staff has always been more than accommodating and professional. One of my favorite restaurants with a high end feel less the pretension and affordable. read more

We had dinner last night for 16 people and I have nothing but all positive things to say about their service and food. Our waiter Willie was so attentive and even gave us bruschetta for free. Their food was very good and portions are so generous. We had to pack a lot if it home. We all enjoyed our entrees. Kids enjoyed their desserts as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Mirnas is decent most of the time - we live nearby and when we don't feel like cooking after work, we may go here. Pasta is ok, Mediterranean dishes best, chicken sometimes good, sometimes not. Servers are efficient, they never ask if you want something to drink so odd. read more

We held a family and friends dinner for 35 and it was a great success. Our drinks which we dropped off earlier were chilled and ready when our guests arrived. All of the food from the appetizers to entrees to dessert was delicious. All courses were timed perfectly. Even a special dinner avoiding foods which were allergic to a guest was arranged. We recently hosted a funeral luncheon at Mirna's and we were so pleased with the event. As we did not know how many would attend, it was difficult to decide in which area we should set up. Phillip worked with us very patiently and was very accommodating when we needed to change to the larger area at the last minute. The staff served everything quite efficiently and the food was delicious. I would definitely use Mirna's for future events. Thanks to Phillip and his team! This is not Italian food. It's terrible Mediterranean knock off food. The floors are sticky. The olive oil tastes like Vegetable oil. The ketchup (children's chicken fingers & fries) was essentially food service quality refilled in the Heinz ketchup bottle. The grilled calamari was freezer burned and served in a lemony sauce. It was not edible. The complementary bruschetta was grey in color. Very disappointing meal. The ingredients were not fresh and very substandard. The price was outrageous for a meal that greatly disappointed our family. read more

Could not recommend Mirna's more highly! We had my daughters' rehearsal dinner here in October and the owners and staff were great! They were helpful with the planning, typed up an event menu for everyone and kindly stored the beverages for us for several days! Even though we only occupied the large section of the restaurant (about 60 people) they had no problem with us milling around, playing a video and giving toasts. Our guests raved about the food. It was my pleasure to host my daughter's Bridal Shower at Mirna's in Blue Bell on October 29, 2016. Phillip was helpful throughout the entire planning phase. He had good suggestions and was totally accommodating to any specific requests I had. The room was set up and looked beautiful the morning I arrived to add the finishing touches. The staff was helpful and attentive throughout lunch and during the afternoon festivities. I was able to look through an ample menu to select the specific dishes I wanted offered for lunch, and everything was delicious. All my guests were pleased with their choices. What is up with these bad reviews? Mirna's food is consistently very good, and I am FUSSY. Excellent Greek salad, pastas, soft shells, seafood. Large portions, good service, reasonable prices. I am not a dessert eater, so I can't speak to that. This is our go-to place for large gatherings and parties, as well as dinner for two. Our Gourmet Group even booked half the restaurant for a dinner, and everyone was pleased with the meal. I think that all restaurants suffer from kitchen glitches from time to time, and people are quick to criticize. It's much easier (and far more gratifying) to vent about a problem than it is to take the time to pay a compliment. Mirna's is a lot better than some of these reviews make it sound. read more

This was the first time that my husband and I went to Mirna's Cafe. It's a very relaxing place and the service was wonderful. We love to go to BYOB's and Mirna's did not disappoint! The crab bisque was so fresh and delicious. I ordered the Grouper and my husband ordered the seafood jambolyia. The seafood was so fresh and the portions were huge. For what appears to be a nice restaurant in terms of curb appeal, I continue to be quite disappointed with Mirna's Cafe. Since location is ideal to where I live I've tried this place three times over the past 3 years hoping the food and experience have improved. No such luck. There is now however a much better option. Back in 2010, a "fine-dining" establishment within the same strip mall that caters to special events or just a nice yummy night out called Radice opened it's doors to the public. Blue Bell could use more restaurants like this! But going back to Mirna's Cafe, the meals here are mediocre at best but the portions are generous. But what's the point of having generous portions if the food isn't very good and your paying for a fine dining experience? Who wants to pay "quality" restaurant prices for pizzeria style food? If I wanted a pizzeria style chicken parm or spaghetti meal I would go to Carmine's Pizza or Palermo's Pizza around the corner and pay much less for the same. The service is also quite disappointing. Service is an essential component to a pleasant experience no matter where you dine, and that includes a McDonald's drive thru. These guys at Mirna's Cafe just don't get it! It appears by enticing the locals with coupons and flooding their menus with neighborhood advertisements they hope to bring in enough revenue to pay for their overhead month to month. I would much prefer a quality restaurant take it's place. read more

Made a reservation for 6:30 p.m. - for my night out with the girls to celebrate my birthday. Table was ready for the five of us - -we arrived at 6:30 pm on a Friday night - - It is a BYOB, which was great! - The service was really warm and friendly, the food was terrific - everyone enjoyed their dinner - lots of leftovers to take home - we brought a cake - they served it - Very relaxing evening -we were not rushed - The variety of their specials was great for the vegetarian, seafood lover, steak lover and pasta gal - - - I would recommend this place highly for a delicious, affordable, hassle free night - lots of parking and the place was immaculate! read more

I also don't get the bad rap and there are quite a bit of aspiring food critiques below. However, we love Mirna's. We have never had an issue with seating promptly, the wait staff is reserved, but if yo engage them in a friendly manner they are happy to respond in kind. Moreover, staff has always been accomodating. It is definitely a relaxing cozy dining experience and you are always seated far enough away from other tables that you can have private conversations with your companions and are able to hear them, and not your neighbors conversations. The service is definitely on a dining timeframe, which is excellent for a relaxing night out without feeling rushed to turn over your table to the next group. We have dined here on over a dozen occasions and have NEVER been disappointed. The food has always been fresh and huge portions, which they are delighted to box up the leftovers to take home. On a couple of occasions they have given us a complimentary salad, which I opt for the ceaser which is always perfect, unfortunately again huge I tend to fill up before my entree. I usually opt for fish which is always fresh with fantastic sauces that always seem to compliment the dish perfectly. My husband is a pasta man, and has always been very happy for someone who is the pickiest eater ever. The prices seem reasonable for the portions and preparation involved. They do have some sort of a special menu with a special deal of an appetizer, salad or soup and entree for a more reasonable price, but apparently you have to specifically ask for it, as we found out with friends who were privvy to such. They are always prompt in icing and refilling your byobs'. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a nice dinner with friends. read more

Mirna's is a joke! My wife and I wanted a chill place to sit outside and have a meal and we were completely ignored! They sat us, gave us bread and water, and then NOTHING for 15 minutes! We got up and left. I will tell everyone I know how awful this place was. Terrible.
