This is an intimate, cozy dining experience unlike anywhere else we have been. Very small in a train station with authentic Italian food so would definitely need a reservation with how small it is. We were greeted with bruschetta and then raviolis in a blush sauce (free is for me) and the BYOB aspect is always a bonus. Burrata special appetizer salad & the filet carpaccio were both very tasty, flavorful and exciting to taste. Spaghetti bolognese and Veal entrees were classic and very delicious and filling as well. I saw reviews that staff were unfriendly and I did not even experience a glimpse of that. They make no accommodations for kids - no kids menu, etc. Sliced chicken parm without the parm or sauce was the cloest they could come to chicken fingers - totally tasteless! Adults dishes were better but not much. Chicken piccata was good. Spaghetti carbonara used to be excellent but this had no taste. Seafood chowder was so-so. Lobster ravioli was average. More like a 4.5. Bocelli' is one of our go to restaurants. Top notch Italian cuisine in a cozy environment, the former Gwynedd Valley train station ticket office. We enjoyed the Seafood pasta, Vitello Saltmbocca, and the Grilled Caesar Salad with crabmeat. Desserts were not made fresh, though very good. Service was efficient. They kept us to our 90 minute reservation, though we felt like staying a little longer. read more

What a great find this restaurant was. It was my husband's birthday and we were looking for an Italian restaurant that had Pasta Carbonara. We were in Italy this summer and my husband had been craving it. So we searched and found only this restaurant had it on the menu. He was very happy. Well everything we ordered was delicious. BYOB! I figured that was important to start with. We dined here on a Tuesday evening and were asked if we had a reservation... I'm assuming you'd really need a reservation if you wanted to dine here on the weekend. There aren't very many tables and it's a very intimate place, but despite that, we were seated right away at this time. They brought out some bruschetta, which tastes absolutely delicious! It's a shame they only brought out 2, as I think 4 would have been the right amount. We ordered the Caprese as our appetizer, which sounded like it would be a lot like the bruschetta based on the description, but it didn't come with bread, and instead it came with (a little too much) balsamic vinegar. The vinegar wasn't horrible, but it took away from the taste of the fresh ingredients used in the dish. Most of the menu is meat-based items, so I just asked for a plate of the spaghetti with whichever sauce our waitress recommended (which happen to be the pink vodka sauce). It was pretty good, portion size wasn't too small but it could have still used a little more. Vegetarian dishes need to be filling too! My boyfriend found the Veal Piccata to be pretty good. Overall, pretty nice place. The prices are a bit high, but it's nice for special occasions and of course the BYOB can be enjoyable. read more

Bocelli may be short on space but not on flavor. This small Italian restaurant is tucked in a small building that borders the tracks at the Gwynedd Valley train station. If you plan to stop in for dinner a reservation is a must. Bocelli is BYOB so bring your libations with you. As we sat down a complementary order of fresh bruschetta was set on our table. This was a nice touch and they also provided bread and olive oil. I'm not sure at what point during the meal they gave us another dish with rosa sauce and i think a stuffed pasta. I can't remember exactly what it was except for it was tasty! You can make a meal on the complementary items alone. I had heard their Penne con Salsiccia was a winner so that's what I ordered. It was home-made sausage and mushrooms in a light cream sauce for $16.95. I haven't had pasta like it before and I would order it again. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals except for the Filet. It was just OK. All in all Bocelli is a solid Italian restaurant with good food and service to match. I am going to go back a few more times to try more of their menu. This place came highly recommended so I made a reservation. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the same day of the reservation due to a sick child at home. When I called to do so, the lady I spoke to was very nasty about it. I then asked if I could order take out instead, in which she told me they don't do. I explained I saw they have door dash. She told me I better get it in early because they turn the door dash off when they get busy. I will never eat here due to how rude she was. read more

I stopped in to ask a question about the regional train (restaurant is the old train depot) and when I smelled the food I had to try some. I lived on Morris Road, in Blue Bell for 25 years. Bocelli's was very near to me, and my family and I made it a point to dine there at least 2 times per month. The reason being, the food was, and is unbelievably delicious. It's a BYOB, and if the host likes you, a Limoncello may be on the house. I have NEVER had a bad entry at Bocelli's. The waitstaff is excellent, and the host a nice Italian boy. I say this as a term of endearment. It's worth the visit, and takeout is always available. read more

We have been going to this restaurant for several years and have always had a good experience until last night, Here are the issues we felt needed to be noted: -They don't tell you when you reserve that the road leading to the to the restaurant is closed about 200 yards from entrance resulting in backtracking and following detour signs for literally several miles. -They offered us two tables; the one by the front door or one it turned out they have jammed in beside their largest table. We took the latter and you could barely fit there. It was also without a doubt the loudest location due to a party of 8 or 10. To their credit they saw that the situation wasn't ideal and provided us another/better option. -We ordered the clams casino (an appetizer that you used to get 5 clams in the past) You now get 2 for $11. Tasty, yes but way overpriced for the small amount they give you. -We put two bottles of white wine on the table and although they were screw tops, we eventually had to pour them ourselves. We also had to ask for a cooler and they provided one that would not hold two bottles so we had to rotate the bottles. -As we saw at another table including ours, you had to ask for water refills -Lastly, in what I consider the cardinal sin in restaurants, the entrees (we both got the same dish) were luke warm and dry. I am pretty sure they were precooked and waiting for someone to order. All in all, a very disappointing dinner and don't know if we will return read more

Quaint and intimate Italian BYOB nestled between the inbound/outbound Lansdale Doylestown SEPTA regional rail line. Passing by daily piqued my curiosity and the other day, I finally had the opportunity to experience it. My husband and I were seated immediately with a dinner reservation on a Friday night. Delizioso is the way to describe this place. It has been a looooong time since I have been here. And my wife and I looked at each other and asked why we haven't been back sooner. Its because this place is so good and good Italian food is decadently rich. I had the osso buco and my wife had the bowtie special with a rose sauce and lobster and shrimp. The Pope would have enjoyed either meal. The osso buco was prepared perfectly - no need for a knife here. And my wife's pasta dish was fantastic. It had generous portions of shrimp and lobster and the rose cream sauce was perfect. I try to avoid eating Italian food because of the richness/carbs. We had 5 people and they only gave us a small half bread for dinner. We ordered 2 large salad and they said they will put them together then make sure it's enough, however, not at all. And all of our orders didn't come with pasta especially we ordered before for the same dishes Our family always go there but we never had such an awful experience. I had some high expectations after reading the reviews for Bocelli. Homemade pasta, some classic northern Italian dishes tucked into a cozy former rail station. Add the BYOB factor and I was expecting high quality and a reasonable price - they delivered. My partner and crime was with me and we were continuing our tour of the northern Philly burbs. We checked the menu on the way over and were pretty much set when we got there. Then our server threw about 6 specials at us. They sounded great but I wanted to stick with the Frutti di Mare. My partner chose the bowtie, shrimp and rosa sause. When we're together, both plates are fair game so I tried the bowtie first. Nice al dente with a tasty and creamy sauce. My plate was filled with expertly prepared shrimp, scallops and shellfish. Pair that with a zesty sauce and perfect pasta and the results was heavenly.
