I realize that there are many positive reviews but mine is not the case. I consulted with Alex Smith. DDS In regards to an implant that was placed on December 16, 2019 by another dentist in Portland, Or The implant was extremely painful and the gum tissue was irritated many days after the procedure. Alex Smith DDS explained to me that there was a "loose screw," and that he would go ahead do a gum punch and tighten the screw and I should see improvement. It was only going to cost me roughly $750 give or take. He did inform me that there may be a 20% chance that the implant could be failing. Additionally, he failed to notice on the CT scan a sizable bone fragment of tooth left behind by the other dentist. Turns out Alex Smith DDS In his own words " misdiagnosed a loose screw," And when attempting to tighten what was not a loose screw but in fact a healing cap abutment the whole implant fell out. My oral surgeon thought it wasn't a great idea to attempt this procedure. Another thing is that Alex Smith DDS cut away a lot of the gum tissue. As a result I may now need a gum graft should the gum not thicken and heal in the coming months. Alex Smith DDS likes to tell a patient to "trust him, "and when you attempt to ask questions he goes out of his way to evade direct answers. The simple fact is that my case was complicated It was a dental implant next to another single dental implant and under a sinus cavity. Weeks later that large fragment of bone started protruding through my gum line. This was missed by Alex Smith DDS but my oral surgeon noticed immediately. My advice for anyone looking to do a complicated dental procedure is to always consult an oral surgeon. I'm looking at thousands of dollars to get me to a positive outcome on tooth #4. I wasted time and money being under the care of Alex Smith DDS. not to mention the pain and stress I had to endure. read more

It started around 1 1/2 yrs ago i went to this company and agreed upon and full set of implants and started the process in the middle of this he got ill and said he was selling the practice and new people started to show up in the business new owners and the new office manager. Camron Edwards did the implants and now i have to go elsewhere to get them redone the right way because the new owners and i do not see eye to eye on how we converse and made it clear they did not make a dime on me and because of my attitude they decided to terminate our contract and get a no trespassing on me. I have since tried to contact them to talk to them in a calm manner and lynn the office mgr. Was very ignorant to me when all i was trying to do was to give them the opportunity to talk this out and refund me what it will take to correct the issues not even a full refund and he said he would not talk to me because i mentioned that i am being for to talk to one but told i would rather handle it like adults but he did not want to do that. So i have gone to changing smiles and to a different denture business and the both say that the implant is in crooked and will have to do complete dentures that fit and correct the issues that were caused or done incorrectly. So as of now i am going forward with changing smiles here in Bend Oregon and hope for the best. Hope we can get this resolved so i can move on and finally eat. Professionalism and Personality and Results! I am not the easiest dental patient. Far from it. I am nervous and anxious for days before I arrive at Dental Artistry and when I do arrive I am confident in saying I have to be one of most their difficult patients due to some personal health issues and my constant high level of anxiety. Dr. Alex Smith and his entire staff, from the front desk to everyone in the clinic space, have made all of my experiences a big success. Dr. Smith listens carefully to my concerns with his full attention and always does a thorough job explaining everything, no matter how many follow questions and concerns I voice. Wow, I can't believe how well my implant turned out at Dental Artistry! I was honestly dreading this whole thing for months, but they made it so much easier than I expected. The work they did is just incredible. My new tooth looks completely natural - like, I literally forget it's an implant sometimes. When I smile or eat, it feels just like my regular teeth. This is an update to my previous review. Note that this is six months after I spent over $4k at Dental Artistry on a crown and veneer. My new removed the crown because it was causing so much damage to my other teeth (the veneer already came off.
