I completely understand that schedules fill up, especially during wedding season--but what hurt most was the lack of empathy. There was no moment of pause, no kindness--just a flat, "I'm just being honest." Not even a conversation about alternative options. Just an immediate no. What made this harder was the fact that their website advertises same-day orders. We were offering four days' notice. I wasn't expecting miracles--just a little humanity. More than the refusal itself, it was the absence of care that stayed with me. In a moment of grief, even a small gesture of compassion would have meant the world.
