I was in town from Texas (Austin) and I was looking for a good ol fashioned dive bar. I came in on Saturday and I was really confused because it said liquor store but the bar's right through the left (shoutout to the guys outside that confirmed). This is a borderline dive bar. Inexpensive drinks. Great bartenders, but if you want someone to dress like a corporate place and kiss your ass, this is not your place. The food is damn good! My friend and I went to purchase a bottle of tequila and sodas. While there, the employee at the sales counter left us feeling publicly humiliated after questioning the integrity of both of our ID's and threatened to contact police, even though the both of us are of legal age to purchase alcohol. This place is awesome, great beer, super friendly staff and patrons. Some college kids that I question their legality to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages.. but who do I think I am? Some kind of cop or something?? Oh wait.... So why am I giving this place 3 stars instead of 5 because I have been here several times and I have seen patrons leaving the bar that can barely stand, then they drive off! There should be some responsibility on the bartenders part to cut them off and suggest they get a cab, Uber or have a friend drive. There's enough drunk drivers and fatalities in Montana, I know ultimately the responsibility lies with the person behind the wheel. Great drinks at AFFORDABLE prices! A smarter alternative to going out and spending too much downtown. Friendly and helpful staff in the liquor store. Cute bartenders go above and beyond, making awesome drinks. Great football specials as well. Usually a more mature crowd here, but also often frequented by MSU-ers during game days. Tonight was the last straw and I won't come here again. I used to love this place when the right people were working. Now it's just filled with employees that don't care at all about the customer experience. I've come back to this bar time and again after rude treatment and false advertising on drink prices. After tonight, I will never come here again. I put $5 in a darts machine that ended up not working at all. I asked for a refund or at least a drink credit and got nothing. It's clear that they don't care about customer experience. I was told that I would have to take it up with owner but that they couldn't give me the owners contact information because that would be "illegal". If you want a good sports bar experience I recommend you go to the cats paw or specs. Brewskers has awesome food but the hideaway is a dirty and mismanaged bar. Did I mention that they went two weeks with complaints about a bad keg of PBR before they finally changed it? I tried some and that was a downright tainted and nasty beer. I guess it's hard to imagine a bar that is that mismanaged would be reliable enough to clean their tap lines or spot a bad keg of beer.
