My wife had a conference at Stonewall Resort so I tagged along and looked for an auction to attend…read more I found an estate auction held by Joe Pyle. There were a couple things I noticed from attending the auction. First is that this auction company is honest. Items were described well and when there were flaws the auctioneer pointed them out. Some auctioneers will not do this. Of course items are sold as is, where is, etc but it is nice to know that the auctioneer is looking out for the buyers as well as the seller. The auctioneer was also knowledgeable about the items they were selling. Another thing I noticed, one of the helper staff went out of his way to correct an error by one of the bidders. The staff member just took it upon himself to quickly rectify the situation with no interruption to the selling. The auctioneer never knew there was a problem. It is nice to know that the auctioneer and his team have that kind of relationship so that everyone is working to provide excellent customer service. I wish I did not live 4 hours away from this auctioneer!

When he arrived to the scheduled pick up appointment time there were already several people there for pick up. Online it says 5-6 people are scheduled at a time. There were a lot more. That wouldn't be a problem except the workers were very overwhelmed by customers. They helped him load some things, and erroneously checked off the inventory list. When I started doing inventory, I realized several lots were missing. Some of the lots that I did get had items missing from them. I called the next morning and was directed to Colton who was in charge of the auction. The First Lady I spoke to said it was possible that the missing items were being held by the staff so she transferred me over to Colton. I will admit my attitude was probably not pleasant. I will assure neither was his. He told me that I was responsible for finding the lots I had won. He said if something was not picked up from an auction he does not have access to it any longer. (That's not what the First Lady said) He told me that I should have sent pictures with my husband to make sure that each item was in the lot. He stated that the invoice was not enough to identify what was in the lot. I spoke to him about organization and customer service. He maintained that it was my fault I did not get what I paid for. He states that they do not have enough time to check and see what everyone is picking up. He also stated that some of the pictures may have had other lots in the corner of the picture. I told him the lots were very specific in the pictures. He told me that he would refund me. He told me that he does not agree with me, and that our conversation was not going anywhere, but he would refund me.It's been 24 hours and I have not seen a refund as of yet. I paid online, I have not been refunded online. Maybe they will mail a check. Probably not. It's funny that the items of more worth in my are missing--and that is my fault. Why were the lots not organized and together? It's also funny that I found one of the exact sets of dishes on Facebook marketplace within 24 hours of the auction...exact set that I was missing. It even has the few mis matched pieces that were in the set. I have the rest of the set if that person sees this. I'll sell it to them. lol! I've typed all this to say...my first experience with Joe Pyle auction was not a good one. I got some things yes. Maybe Colton is new,I don't know. He seems like it. The auction pick up he was in charge of was chaotic. Hopefully it was just a one time thing and not how he runs things. I've been attending auctions a while. I have bought several items At a time at auctions and I have never had this happen. Not on this scale. It's no big deal, it's just stuff....but I promised Colton I'd leave an honest review and here it is! I almost forgot to add. After our first conversation he called me back to tell me that the workers seen the rest of my items at the end of the day and they wondered why no one came back for them. They checked off each lot that was loaded---well they checked it off....but I guess they didn't check it. They also told my husband that all the lots were loaded and ready according to the invoice. Colton told me that they aren't allowed to load anything, but guess what, they did. If what the workers said is true.....they didn't make one phone call, no contact....nothing. I call bull!! They had all my information. I know this sounds like I'm being a "Karen" but Colton says I'm wrong and I want everyone to know how this business operates. I don't have to be right. I just wanted him to be decent. I wish you could trust a business but you can't, not this one. I'll be keeping an eye out on the resale market for the rest of the items. I'd like to suggest a specific check out station at your auctions. This would ensure that the lots are accurate and that people aren't taking stuff. Thanks for listening.

Fool me once. The person I talked to regarding shipping was not accommodating, nor did I ever receive a shipping invoice or tracking information. Perhaps their in person service is more favorable but I will not be buying anything from Knobley again.

Yes Knobley Auction is that good! They helped me when I was ill and needed to sell my whole house…read morefull of everything from small kitchen things to antiques. They came moved out everything at a better rate than any other moving company in area. They treated my house with kid gloves. Floors were not scratched, nor walls dinged. I know as my the security cameras showed there excellent work ethics as they moved through house. Mr. Summer came out to my home and even though house was dusty and not even a glass of cold water was available, he treated me like I was family. Don't hesitate to use his services. You will get great service and make top dollar on your possessions. He encourages crowds of bidders, by using the latest technology, be it social networking or photos of upcoming items being sent to interested parties.. He keeps you up to date and communicates clearly as auctions progress. Mr. Summers also sales homes at auction and works as a Realtor for American Real Estate at http://www.americanrealestateco.com/real_estate_agent_team. I have heard from many home owners that they were very pleased with promotion and sales with their house and would use Mr.Summers to sale future property. As for me and my house we were extremely pleased with Knobley and especially Mr.Summers.
