Miss Debbie! Such an amazing person

Sweet Delights is a hidden gem! I mean that literally -- this place is tucked away in a random shopping center, with a faded sign that is hard to read. It also shares an entrance with a nail salon, so it's easy to pass right by the front door even if you're staring directly at the storefront. But once you do find your way inside, the search will definitely have been worth your time. Simply put, you're not going to get a better pie anywhere else in Florida. You're not just buying a pie, either. You're getting an entire experience. As soon as you enter, Miss Debbie will be waiting to greet you with a warm welcome and some questions about what kind of pie you had in mind. She'll then bring you a BUNCH of samples, so that you can taste the many different flavors of key lime pie, ranging from original to chocolate chip, and from banana to guava. There's no shortage of interesting, delicious pies to try. All of the samples were fantastic! We went with two half-pies in particular, namely the citrus and the guava flavors. Both were amazing, with bold flavors, great texture, and delicious crusts. Miss Debbie clearly knows what she's doing. If I had one-tenth of the passion, talent, and grace that Miss Debbie brings to her business, I'd be thrilled! Come for amazing pies, stay for great conversation with a lovely business owner who prides herself on brightening the lives of others through her baking.

THE best key lime pies with THE sweetest owner. I wanted to do the quintessential South FL thing get myself a key lime pie, so when this spot popped up on my radar, I was stoked. Finding it was a bit of a challenge- you have to enter the Waxing and Lash Beautique to get to it. And once you do, it's directly in front of the front door. The operation is almost entirely run by sweet Ms. Debbie, a longtime nurse-turned-baker. She was known for her signature key lime pies and made her side hustle her full-time job after experiencing essentially most areas of nursing. What sets her key lime pies apart from others is the way she incorporates fresh Carribbean fruits (and no artificial sweeteners!) into her pie fillings. Before I purchased slices ($9.50) and an entire pie ($35), she invited me to try samples of any flavor I desired. *coconut: subtle, but abundant with coconut shreds *piña colada: just like the drink hehe *guava: the islander in me almost screamed when I saw this as a flavor option. I LOVED this so much *tamarind: had a really strong tamarind flavor LOL it was a bit overwhelming actually *passion fruit: also placed a dagger to my Hawai'i heart- ugh- YES LOVED IT SM Although I ended up missing my Shark Valley tram tour bc of my detour here, it was more than well-worth it.

Fantastic spot and I'm so happy I stopped by! I walked in close to the closing time but Debbie was so helpful and still wanted me to get the full experience for my first time here! She explained a selection of what she recommends and before I even asked any questions she was already getting a sample platter prepared. When I expected some samples, I was more than happy to receive toothpick sized bite samples to try out. Little did I know that Debbie was bringing out mini slices of several pies! They were all scrumptious, my only complaint was that there was too much! :) I decided on the original key lime flavor which I loved, and for the pie to take home with me, Debbie even provided a freezer carrying bag to ensure it stays fresh on my drive back to Orlando. Highly recommend this spot for some authentic key lime pies!

I nearly left in tears. Miss Debbie is an absolute angel. She made my day and belly happy with these delicious pies. YOU HAVE TO TRY THESE and stay a while. The only thing better than the pie is the wonderful person who makes them.

I saw this place a few times, and today, I decided to give it a try, and what a surprise . Debbie was very friendly. She offered samples all delicious hard to decide. I got the whole Meringue Key Lime Pie, and I can wait to share it with my family

Excellent key lime pies! Miss Debbie is amazing! She lets you sample the different pies to help you decide.

I love Miss Debbie. She is the sweetest, she is more then welcoming to sit and talk with you while you eat a slice. Although I am no longer a local every time I am in town I come in for a slice or a whole pie.

You might initially have a hard time finding the location as it's in a hidden corner of a plaza (beside Dunkin) but just follow the signs and you should find it. The sweetest owner! We got a plate of free samples of our choice to try everything and they were all just amazing. You can't really go wrong with any of the flavors. I definitely wanted to bring home a whole pie if I didn't have to bring it on a flight. Definitely recommend making the trip especially if you're a fan of key lime pie.

I have to start off by saying I'm so sad I waited sooo many years to try this place out but I'm sooo glad I finally made it out! Never have I ever felt so welcomed in a local business than I have here at Sweet Delights. Don't let the unassuming door (next to a Wax boutique) deter you from entering the Key lime pie shop. You're in the right spot. Once I walked in I was greeted by Ms. Debbie who quickly sat me down at a little bistro table and quickly set me up with samples of some of the best key lime pies I have ever tasted. I tried the following flavors: passion fruit, guava, banana, and piña colada. I also sampled the "love cake" which was exactly that...a deliciously crafted and made with love slice of cake. All flavors were delicious. They weren't simply key lime pies with fruit flavor mixed in...each cake is hand crafted and magically made with fresh fruit. Ms. Debbie takes passion in what she does and it shows from the moment you walk in. If you're thinking about making a trip down to Florida City...stop thinking and GO!

Ms Debbie is soo sweet. You can tell she makes her pies with LOVE. Everytime I've gone and asked for samples to figure out which pies I want, she always gives me more to try, making the decision process more fun and hard - so many delicious choices! My favorite pies are key lime and passion fruit. But lover pie has a perfect amount of rum and sweetness. She also makes a variety of seasonal pies too. During Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday she makes eggnog and peppermint. Also, very delicious. Her almond and cherry cake had such a pleasant smell and taste too. Honestly, there are just soo many amazing choices! Her shop is small, but plenty and located in a plaza.

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time and today I was in the area and I'm so glad I finally went there! My son and I were literally greeted with open arms, including hugs and kisses, from the owner Ms Debbie. She told us to sit down so she could bring us some samples and boy she wasn't kidding when she talked about samples! She bought us a pie tin full of them. We tried the original key lime, ginger star fruit key lime pie, guava key lime pie, white chocolate raspberry key lime pie, love cake and cherry almond cake. She didn't just give us one piece of each to share, she brought out two pieces of each of those above mentioned pies/cakes. So incredibly generous. Literally every one of those pies and cakes were delicious and it was so hard to decide what to get. We finally ended up with the original key lime and a slice of the white chocolate raspberry. As delicious as those homemade pies were, meeting Miss Debbie was the highlight of this visit. I can't wait to go back and try some of her other mouth watering pies that she obviously makes with love. Worth the trip I promise you!

It seems I have been on a bakery spree recently. I came by this Havana's Bakery Cafe a few weeks…read moreago. I had previously been to another location in 288th Street in Homestead... and I found out while there about this location which is closer to my home. It is a smaller location and does not have the selection the one in 288 has... mainly it's missing cakes. But it gets the job done for me... as I was just looking for a good but cheap Cuban breakfast... eggs, croquettes, Cuban toast, cafe con leche. The breakfast was good, cheap and quite filling! I attached pictures of the meal and prices for anyone interested. One thing though, besides the cakes, is that because it's a small location, they don't have a lot of employees. I placed a large to go order, someone else did at the same time, and another customer came in just to get a few pastries and croquettes. The staff was a bit overwhelmed so it took a bit of time to get the food. A great little bakery in south Homestead if anyone wants to get their Cuban pastry/croquette fix. I will come back.

This place has a different name yes it's Cuban but it's called Isla Bakery…read more It's quite good, it has inside and outside seating very clean and good service. Breakfasts are very affordable starting at 4.99. The ham and cheese croissants are great and so are the tortilla with ham and cheese sandwich they also have all the typical favorites of pastelitos. Natural OJ. If you're on the way to the keys make sure you stop by and load up.
