There were like, 7 waitresses outside the door looking at us as we walked up. It was kind of weird. No one really addressed us, they were all in conversation with each other. I had to asked if they were even open because they were all standing outside the door. We got in and seated, no problem. Our waitress took great care of us. It's a cute place. The garlic flatbread was incredibly basic. I've had better frozen garlic bread. Definitely save your money on that. Honestly, you can make better garlic bread at home. The Bianca pizza was good. My wife really like it. My not a fan of ricotta cheese but still ate a couple slides. The pepperoni pizza was okay. It was reallly greasy and the undercarriage of the pizza had no stability. It was floppy, almost soggy, from the grease it had absorbed. But we still ate it. Pizza great! Excellent crust. Fresh. Yummy. Ordered "chopped" Italian salad. Except it wasn't chopped. It was like any regular salad. If it had been chopped I'd have given them 5 stars. Why does this matter? Because in a chapped Italian salad you get all the ingredients in each bite. Instead of you want that, you'd have to make 50 cuts to the salad. Well... it's Port A. Food was actually pretty good. We've got a 3 and 5 year old that loved the butter noodles. Pizza was fine but on a relatively calm evening (no wait) it took about 30 minutes for our pizza. Offered ranch, with no mention of a $1 upsell (pet peeve of mine). HVAC above our table kept dropping condensation on our pizza (Port A, so no harm here, just moved our pizza, haha). We've always come here for a more upscale pizza night when we're in town. They have gluten free which is a requirement for me so it's always been an easy choice. Service is really what needs attention here. I can't remember her name but she was just plain inattentive. Wrote down my order but it was still wrong. When she finally came back outside, mind you there was one family inside with 3-4 outside. I had a list of things we needed, like a refill on a drink since we had been waiting so long, the correct toppings for my pizza (I legit only added one thing..) and parm and pepper. LOVED LOVED everything we ordered but be prepared to wait as this is a popular spot in a very beachside town. We waited 1 hour but it was worth the wait and we were a party of 6 so knew it would be a bit. Anyhow we started with the burrata caprese and lemon pepper wings. As entrees we had the pizza tradzionale, spaghetti and meatballs, meatball sub and chicken parmigiana (which we forgot to take a pic of). Our server was super hospitable and friendly. Our courses took a bit to come out but they were super busy so we held tight and enjoyed our drinks and conversation. Probably the best pizza I've ever had. Don't make the same mistake I did and try any other pizza joint on the island - this place is the best! Plenty of super friendly wait staff to take care of you. We looked Dylan's up on Yelp before heading there, after our dolphin watching excursion. They had great reviews, we wanted pizza, so that's where we headed. Since we arrived at 8:36p and had seen that they close at 9, we thought we'd help THEM out and not still be there and be a burden past 9, when they close. So we ordered our food to-go. The order was placed and paid for, I would say no later than 8:40. We went outside to wait, I got nervous when it was close to 9 and still no "phone call", that order was ready, so I went back inside to follow up. They hadn't even gotten to my order yet. I was told it would be fine to wait outside and I'd get a "phone call." We waited another 15 minutes and my grandsons came back in to wait with me. THEY got tired of waiting after another 5 minutes, and left. Keep in mind, as I'm waiting at a table, probable every single server walked by me, for 21 minutes and no one said a word, asked me how I was, had I been helped, nada, zilch. At 9:30, I stopped a server and told her I had been waiting almost an hour for my pizzas and salad. She walked away and came back 2.5 seconds later, with not hot and fresh pizzas, who knows how long they were sitting under the hot lamp. Not thinking I needed to check my order, based on raving reviews, upon leaving. I got to my car and opened the first pizza, so my grandsons could eat, they were starving, thankfully it was perfect. It was 9:30! We open the second box, my pizza and it was completely burnt and had about 85% burnt patches all around, everywhere you looked. I shlep the charcoal colored pepp/mushroom/extra cheese pizza across a parking lot, back to the restaurant, hoping they haven't locked the doors yet. When I walked back in, THEN EVERYONE was paying attention and attentive to me! I open the box and say, I waited almost an hour for this and it's burnt. No one said a word and then this wonderful lady with short black hair, dressed in all black and tennis shoes, quickly came over, took the burnt pizza and immediately started re-making it. At this point it's 9:40. When I looked at my watch and saw it was 9:40 and everyone was still running around, I thought, damn here we are trying to be considerate of THEIR time, by not staying to eat in at 8:36, and here I am am hour later, waiting for my pizza to be remade. As I'm fuming I ask the person behind the bar, if she's the manager, she's states "no" and then nothing else. The kind server, who had handed me my order minutes earlier, stopped and asked if I was ok. I said I'd like to speak to a manager, she said I'll get you one right now. This older lady came out to the bar, her mostly white hair was tied up,I guess so it's out of her face? I ask her, if she is the manager, she faintly states, "I'm one". I tell her I waited almost an hour to get a burnt pizza. She states, our pizzas look like that because they're cooked in a coal oven. Uh, no they don't and what a crappy "manager" you are! Didn't you learn in managerial training, the customer is always right?! Which is why I don't think she actually is "one of the managers". Not to mention, not ONE pizza looks burnt on YELP reviews. And there are a lot of pizza pictures on their page. Not ONE looked anywhere near to what we were served, not ONE. Like the one my grandsons had, was perfect and not an ounce of burnt to a crisp areas. Then she proceeds to tell me, well we're making you another one right now. No, I'm sorry, I apologize, zero, zilch! I'm pissed I tipped! I want my tip back. And you know WHO DID apologize?! The tipsy guy having a bottle of wine, sitting next to me at the bar! Yes! Def recommend this place! We came across this place by accident one year as we were vacationing in Corpus. The pizza is so yummy that each time we make it to Corpus, we make it a point to stop at Dylan's. Food- We ordered the Tradizonale and the Caprino pizza's. One pizza is enough to feed two people but we wanted to try two different pizzas and have enough for left overs. The pizza is freshly made, it's hot, full of flavor, and love the coal fire taste. The Tradizonale pizza has pepperoni, red bell pepper, red onion, and spicy sausage. The Caprino came with sausage, feta cheese, red onion, fresh basil. Both pizzas were very good but our favorita was the Caprino, the feta provided a nice flavor to the overall pizza. Each pizza was about $20 dollars. Drinks- Ordered a French 75 and a house margarita. My mom mentioned the margarita was a little strong. The French 75 was delicious (I ordered a second). Establishment/Service/Ambiance: The establishment is located within the Cinnamon Shores property (so cute). There is indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat inside. The table, plates, and some of the silverware were not as clean as they should be but the staff quickly fixed the issues when we brought it up. I was sooo excited to try this place after seeing great reviews on social media but after getting their hours wrong, I'm glad I didn't stay. I drove 7 hours to stay in Port A and was so excited to visit Cinnamon Shore and the restaurants. On google maps it says that they open at 11am but it's actually 12pm. I should've checked their website to confirm but I didn't which was my mistake. I walked in at 11:05ish and the door was open. I saw a group of people (who I believe are workers?) sitting at a table and staring at me. The attitude I got from one of the men sitting was crazy. I believe he saw the confusion on my face and quickly said they open at 12pm. I completely understand that it was my mistake so I explained that it was because online it said open at 11am and before I could even apologize, the man curtly said "no, we open at 12." Idk, the way he just stared and looked so annoyed. I know it was my mistake but the attitude I got just from getting the hours wrong had me flabbergasted. It felt super unwelcoming and made me so uncomfortable that I left quickly. Had he been friendly about the situation I would've definitely waited until they open, but I decided to eat elsewhere. I ordered a pepperoni pizza. Overall the taste of the pizza was legit with delicious crust. The amount of pepperoni was pretty scarce (maybe 1 or 2 per slice) which was kind of annoying since you pay extra per topping. We took the pizza to go and tried to dine outside but the mosquitos got the best of us and it started to rain as well. I didn't even have a chance to snap a photo of the pizza. I can't comment too much on the ambiance because we didn't dine in. Overall, it was a delicious pizza but fairly pricey. The town center is really cute and reminds me of Seaside, FL. I can't say enough good things about Dylans Coal Oven Pizzeria! From the second you walk in; you're hit with that amazing smell of the coal oven. My family and I had the Margherita and Bianca we were blown away. The crust was crispy with that perfect smoky flavor, and everything tasted super fresh.
