He gets muzzled every time he goes to the vet as a precaution, even though he's never bit or snipped at anyone but because he shows his nervousness by growling. I have worked with dogs for several years and have rarely found an animal "professional" that refuses service based on nervous behavior, and further refuses service because they will not muzzle a dog. Insane practice to charge as much as they do for grooming services and show this much incompetence and inexperience they have.

We got up to the register and asked the cashier if she thought we got the right size. Ann, one of the store managers over heard and came to our rescue. She cut off the ties off of the harness we thought would fit and proceeded to place it on Bono and adjusted it to make sure it fit him properly. After all of this, we figured that he would be able to escape this harness as well. So she walked us back to the aisle with the harness choices and recommended a different one. She took that one out of the package and tried it on him, adjusted this one all over again. Mind you, Bono is not very warm to people he doesn't know. She gained rapport with him quickly by giving him some awesome doggy massages. Because of Ann, we found the perfect harness that Bono can't escape out of. Thank you!

However, a year ago I used the pet self wash station for our two corgis. A few days later I was in the emergency vet with both of my dogs. They had an extreme case of folliculitis. It cost us around $4k in emergency services. All because they don't use clean/sanitized bottles for their dog shampoo. When diluting with water you're only supposed to let it stay mixed for a max of 24 hours and then dump it all and sanitize the bottles. When I talked to the owner/manager I was blamed for "not using the entire bottle" and was told "that's why they had a reaction" I was also told I must not have followed the directions on how to use the shampoo that's "posted on the wall" so I went back and took a video of the rooms and there were not any type of instructions. I'm also not sure how they think using more of a product that was contaminated would have helped. They were super rude and then said they'd help to "make it right" but months went by and nothing ever happened. She even stopped responding to my phone calls and emails. I didn't get an apology and was never asked how my dogs were feeling. The type of folliculitis the dogs had was so extreme their fur had to be shaved, and I had to put my toddlers t shirts on them to keep them from bleeding all over the house. They were extremely uncomfortable, lethargic, and would walk around whimpering and would barely eat. We had to switch to a stronger antibiotic to help so it was about a month of antibiotics, and supplementing their food with rice, pumpkin and a powder that helped them not poop uncontrollably because the antibiotics irritated their stomachs. We had to wake up in the middle of the night multiple times for weeks to let them go potty because they couldn't hold it in. All of this also happened while I was pregnant and dealing with extreme morning sickness and going to the hospital 4 times a week for IV treatments. All I wanted were clean dogs, and I ended up with a month of hell. So it's great for food and treats. Horrible if you get an un sanitized bottle of shampoo.

I hope our experience encourages other pet owners to seek care elsewhere, ask questions, seek second opinions, and make sure previous imaging is carefully reviewed before agreeing to extensive treatment. In 2024, our dog developed aspiration pneumonia when she was just one year old. She recovered and went on to live a normal, healthy life for nearly two years. In February 2026, she developed the exact same symptoms. We brought her to Animal Urgent Care Northeast and specifically asked the doctors to obtain and compare her previous medical records because we believed this was the same issue she had experienced before. We were told the records had been reviewed. Over the course of her care at AUC North East, she underwent multiple diagnostic tests, received IV fluids, oxygen therapy, medications, and treatments. Yet, they never identified the foreign body. Despite more than $6,000 in charges, we were repeatedly told they could not determine why she was not responding to treatment. Afterward, we paid another veterinarian to independently review the medical records. Within that review, they identified a foreign body that had been visible on every image since 2024, which means that the foreign body had remained present on every set of radiographs taken since then. Image included in review, foreign body by curser. When I contacted Animal Urgent Care Northeast to discuss these findings, I was told that treating pneumonia was appropriate and that they could not prove the foreign body was responsible for her failure to improve. That is true--they cannot definitively prove that connection without removing the foreign body. What is also true is that we had already spent so much on hospitalization and treatment that never identified the underlying issue, we could no longer afford the procedure that may have given her a chance. The clinic ultimately refunded less than 10% of our bill. Tragically, that refund will be used to euthanize our three-year-old dog because surgery was no longer financially possible. I understand that veterinary medicine is complex and that no doctor has every answer. My disappointment is not that they couldn't guarantee a diagnosis. It is that despite our repeated concerns, our dog's previous history, and thousands of dollars in diagnostics and treatment, the underlying issue was never identified when it was clearly on the x-ray and explained all her symptoms. When another veterinarian found it by reviewing her records, there was very little accountability. I cannot recommend this clinic. If your pet has a complicated or recurring medical condition, I strongly encourage you to seek a different provider.
