I've been to this location multiple times but never actually wrote a review. Compared to their downtown location, the seating and decor here is more casual and smaller. However, the quality and quantity of food is excellent no matter which location you choose to dine at. My go-to is the Pho Dac Biet because it comes with all the meats that I like-beef brisket slices, beef meatballs, tendon, and tripe. The broth is excellent, and the flavors are amazing. I add hoisin sauce and sriracha to my pho. Definitely try it out! My only complaints are the lack of basil on the veggie plate and not enough meat to noodle ratio. read more

My boyfriend and I were staying the night at Aloft and had planned on going out for dinner in Tucson. It started to rain shortly after we checked in though and we decided between the weather and our long drive from Albuquerque that we didn't feel like venturing far. We remembered seeing Miss Saigon as we drove into the hotel and ended up ordering some food for pick up to eat in our room. I chose the pho with rare beef slices as it was a cold and rainy night. The soup was perfectly comforting and just what I had in mind. My boyfriend is a vegetarian and was happy to see that there was a vegetarian section on the menu but found it odd that they listed several soups with chicken broth under that category. He wasn't super impressed with his vegetarian dish and needed all the hot sauce and soy sauce he could find to add some flavor to the tofu. read more

I heard great things about Miss Saigon so I decided to try it with my Dad on his visit. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls (#2 without pork) for an appetizer and absolutely loved them! The peanut dipping sauce that came with them was the star. It was lick the plate good! Then I ordered the #33 soup with shrimp and squid, and my dad got the the pho with chicken. The soups came with fresh bean sprouts, jalapeños, and cilantro that were a great addition to the already fantastic meal. We got smalls and could not even finish those, as the bowls are very large. We brought our leftovers home, and having eaten most of the meat in the soup, leaving it with just the rice noodles, we added scrambled eggs to the dish for another full meal! Miss Saigon has my favorite egg rolls of all time (sorry, Mom). They are so crispy and delicious! As much as I love their fresh spring rolls, a visit to Miss Saigon without an order of their egg rolls is a visit wasted in my eyes. This is my go-to place for pho. It's always quality, always consistent, and always flavorful. My favorite Pho dish is #27 -- Pho with beef slices, tendon, and tripe. I usually also ask if they can add beef meatballs (for a small price, of course). If I'm not in the mood for a hot bowl of pho, I typically get their bun (vermicelli). Very refreshing and light yet filling at the same time. My favorite is either the grilled pork bun or the egg roll bun. Miss Saigon has never led me astray. I always leave satisfied with my meal and service here. If you are a fan of boba or Thai tea, definitely go for it here as well. Everything here is delicious! I've also never had a problem with take-out here. They pack everything in a way that ensures everything is fresh when you get home. This means "some assembly required" for the Pho as the noodles and soup come separate, so they don't get soggy. read more

I used to come this place all the time and I am saddened to see the quality of the food go down. This restaurant always has a short wait when I am there, which is not bad. Our waiter was really nice, but the food did take a little bit to come out for mediocracy. When I was paying for my food, there was no interaction/communication. I do believe a simple "thank you, have a nice day" would've changed my perspective of my experience at the restaurant today. I still love this restaurant and will continue to recommend it for pho, yet I was a little disappointed dining in today. I hope they improve in the future. As someone from California, my Vietnamese food standards is pretty high. I decided to give this spot a try because I was missing viet food. At first glance, this looks like a small mom and pop shop that you'd see in little Saigon. The menu is definitely on the pricier side of what I'm used to but seems on par with most of the restaurants in this area. I got pho tai and the broth was pretty good. The meat amount was also decent. However, I wish they had more veggies and herbs on the side that I could add to my soup. They didn't even have basil which would've gave the soup more flavor. ***UPDATE 2/15/20 Strong 3+ stars, maybe 4. Have been back a couple of times and it has been satisfactory. I still do not think that they are the best Vietnamese restaurant in town, but they are good enough to frequent when the others are closed or too far away. I've had the pho and a couple of other dishes that I don't remember their names. The photos here of the menu are out of date as they have changed their menu. I should have taken a photo. At any rate, I had the #43 fried Spring rolls with grilled pork on vermicelli, and a shrimp dish with a yellow coconut sauce. I was disappointed because I didn't look at the menu description well enough to see that it wasn't coconut breaded shrimp. I wasn't that enamoured of the dish at the time, but it tasted better the next day as left overs. I wouldn't order it again, though. Service is very good. The fried Spring rolls are good. They do not serve as many variety of veggies as some other places, lacking in bean sprouts and mint, but they do provide cilantro. So I'll bump up the rating to 4 stars, maybe a strong 3+. For reference, I think that Com Tam Thuan Kieu is an excellent Vietnamese restaurant. I know that Miss Saigon has received the #1 vote 11 years in a row in the Tucson Weekly polling, but I disagree. There is value in polls like that, but some polls have people voting Taco Bell as the #1 "Mexican" restaurant, too. I rest my case. read more

They have boba here that's okay. The food is good though. Pho has super great flavor and serving sizes are large. Service is quick too. They have new hours due to covid so please see picture. If you're short on time during lunch and don't want to comprise taste then definitely come to Miss Saigon. I ordered #13 - jasmine rice with wok tossed veggies and tofu. It was out hot and ready in 3 minutes. For once in my life I spent more time eating my meal than waiting for it! Partly because of the quick service and partly because of the large portions. A little more than half my plate was filled with perfectly cooked jasmine rice. Its texture was soft and slightly sticky and it had a subtle floral aroma. The tofu and veggies were covered in just the right amount of ginger sauce that was zesty yet sweet. If I had to nitpick, I would like a little more generous serving of veggies and tofu. Overall, for $8, it's great bang for your buck and the best money I've spent all week. read more

Really fast service but the food is not authentic and doing the bare minimum in terms of flavor. Pho doesn't have any aromatics or spices in it. Instead the broth just tastes like a salt bomb similar to top ramen broth. There's no basil provided either. I got egg noodles and wonton soup dish and it was awful. Probably the best and most authentic Vietnamese place you can get in Tucson. Came here for lunch around 1:30 on a weekday. The place was still very busy. I see a lot of students here since it is near campus. I ordered their special pho and Vietnamese coffee. Both are pretty standard, which that's what you want. The broth was good too. And the noodles were grossly soggy and come served w curry sauce. I was quite confused. Maybe their pho is their strong suit but let me tell YOU that it's not their fresh dishes. I live for the Vietnamese egg rolls and the Rare Beef Pho. If you haven't tried the fried chicken wings, order 'em stat! So fluffing good, hot from the kitchen. The place is usually jamming, but worth the wait for a table. The service is quick, if sometimes terse (whaddaya expect when the food is flying & the patrons are hungry?). My first time here and I was a bit disappointed. I had the Miss Saigon chicken noodle soup which was very good, but my friend had the Vermicelli noodle with steamed tofu and mixed vegetables and it was not hot. We were off in a corner and the place was very lunch time busy... there are the excuses for our waiter not coming back to check on us and the food. So, we added some of my hot chicken broth info the tofu meal to help the situation. Finally had to get up and leave before anyone got us a check. Came in on a weekday evening and were quite hungry. Nice restaurant and design. Greeted with a friendly smile, and noticed that the restaurant was quite busy. Menu selection was great and had some thing on the menu for everyone. Even though it was very busy, the service never felt lacking. The food flavors were very well balanced, and even spicy dishes were not too spicy so you would lose the taste of all of the ingredients. Food is always great! I'm a little dismayed when I heard about their issues with health certification. Yes the place could smell better and be cleaner but the food is great, apparently there is no shortage of customers as seen on the photos I posted here even in the middle of summer in July of 2019. The watermelon and guava slush is fresh and light tasting, a bit sweet. The grilled sliced pork always taste good and of course the pho is always tasty. I just have to close one eye and one nostril when I come here it is only for the good food in this "hole in the wall" type place. Hated it. And actually, the bowl of Pho I had was okay, but I hated so much I would never go back. Here's why; First, 2 bowls of pretty average Pho were $40 bucks!! $36.92 to be exact and when you add a tip you're into $50 bucks!! For 2 bowls of soup - oh heeelNawww! Then, they measure stuff, like the hot sauce and hoisin sause. They give it to you in a little pathetic plastic to go container. You have to keep asking for more in order to have enough. Just put a dang bottle of siratcha and hoisin on the table for gods sake! The little sprouts / jalapeno plate that you get with Pho was so small it looked like a joke. See, this is why these kinds of places never make it long term. Chintzy. Expensive and chintzy. Those of us who live here year around (NOT snow-birds) do not support these joints and we tell everyone.
